WWE NXT Announces Heatwave, AAA Event To Go Head-to-Head With AEW All In

WWE NXT has scheduled this year’s Heatwave for Sunday, August 30, and will be preceded by an AAA event reportedly kicking off at 12:00 p.m. ET in Edinburg, Texas. Tickets go on sale July 8; the NXT portion will air on The CW while distribution for the AAA show has not been confirmed. The date puts NXT and AAA on the same day as AEW All In at London’s Wembley Stadium, with start times for the televised windows not yet announced but expected in the early afternoon Eastern.

The move continues a recent trend of WWE counter-programming AEW events after years of avoiding direct clashes, following summer scheduling tactics that saw the Great American Bash and the 2025 Heatwave overlap with AEW’s major shows and WWE announcing additional specials like Wrestlepalooza and Saturday Night’s Main Event around AEW cards. Some AEW pay-per-views such as WrestleDream, Full Gear and Worlds End did not receive direct WWE competition in that same stretch.
