AEW Moves MJF vs. Kenny Omega World Title Match From Redemption to Beach Break Dynamite
AEW officials quietly shifted the scheduled AEW World Championship showdown between MJF and Kenny Omega from this month’s Redemption pay-per-view in Montreal to Wednesday’s Beach Break edition of Dynamite, a change first discussed by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. Both hosts said the decision was made “fairly recently” and the reasoning remains unclear, with similar questions raised about why Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kyle Fletcher for the International title was also bumped to Dynamite.
The match carries a stipulation that if Omega fails to beat MJF, he can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again; MJF is 2-0 all-time versus Omega. Despite that history, the prevailing expectation is Omega will win to set up a title clash with Will Ospreay as the main event of AEW All In at London’s Wembley Stadium.
