Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep# 90

J-Rod back on the program! Winner takes all main event? #1 Contender Match for the JCW Tags!

Published

on

As long as we don’t have too many more extended awkward promos with the doctor, we should probably get back to our regularly scheduled ridiculous Russo stuff. The JWO kidnapped Vincenzo at the end of last week and HoKane chloroformed Big Al…so now we get to see where the hell things are going.

Like I said in most articles, you don’t watch JCW for your usual wrestling content, this is Hardcore TV, Jerry Springer and late night MTV insane crap.

Ratings:

  • Sonny Kiss vs J-Rod: J-Rod wins via Brass Knuckles – ** 1/4
  • Purple Phantom vs Steven Flowe w/Ring Rat: Flowe wins via Flowe Elbow – *
  • Backseat Boyz vs JWO w/Violent J: Backseats win via School Boy – **
  • Ring Rat w/Steven Flowe vs Purple Phantom: Rat wins via Stunner – LOL
  • Title vs Title: American Title & World Heavyweight Title: Father Bronson (c) vs Josh Bishop (c) w/Joel Gertner:

Results:

They continue the who’s the father of Jasmin’s baby, this time with The Outbreak, Jeff the Ref and Barnabas. Vito walks out, apparently cleared of the paternity, Mac Davies comes out next and there’s a line Barnabas says about “The Zombies and the Slut, sounds like a Troma Film”. And it really does, that’s just a great analogy.

Sonny Kiss vs J-Rod

J-Rod is angry, immediately starts clubbing Sonny until a Spinning Elbow and Dropkick give Sonny momentum to hit the Scoop Slam and J-Rod starts favoring her knee. It causes a small hiccup in the offense but it’s all playing possum as J-Rod trips Sonny into the corner and then chokes Sonny along the ropes. They Chop each other, but J-Rod kicks Sonny in the chest and then Irish Whips her to the corner, Elbow Smash into a Bulldog, but only a one count for J-Rod. J-Rod talks some crap, Sonny with a few kicks, hits the ropes but J-Rod takes her head off and locks in a Neck Crank.

Sonny starts kicking J-Rod in the head to get out of the hold, but J-Rod throws her down and starts pie facing Sonny. Snake Eyes from J into a Running Big Boot, slow to the cover and Sonny kicks out at two. J-Rod goes into Ground & Pound, but then starts jawing at the crowd. J-Rod looks for another Snake Eyes, Sonny slips it, Thesz Press, Sole Butt into Wheelbarrow Giant Swing Facebuster! Sophia Rose runs down to start something, but Sophia throws J-Rod brass knuckles, J-Rod clocks Sonny and the Gladiator Goddess wins!

Sophia and J-Rod seem to be back together and Hollyhood Haley J makes a save for Sonny. Battle lines are being drawn.

Vito and Sally Boy are arguing in the back, there’s more conversation about Sal being a stunad, and his father was an asshole. So they continue to have Sal be conflicted about the dad drama, but Vito just berates him with all the well known Italian insults.

The next segment is Russo & Caleb gassing up Father Bronson. Joel Gertner interrupts it, and talks about legacy and money and Josh Bishop is money. Russo flips off Gertner when Gertner asks to be acknowledged.

Purple Phantom vs Steven Flowe w/Ring Rat

Rat is so good at her gimmick, always on her knees, worshipping Flowe and working her hand around the the guitar neck…you know what I mean.

Purple imbecile is still stuck in his cape, but Flowe goes for the Cradle and Purple kicks out this time at least. Flowe hits Purple a few more times, chokes him with the cape, but now Purple blocks the whip, kicks Flowe down, finally removes his cape and drops an Elbow. Flowe kicks the knees out from under Purple, then a Low Dropkick, and the Whammy Bar into only a 1 count. Flowe scoops Purple into a Spicolli Driver, but a kick to the gut into a Pump Handle Side Slam kind of move. Purple is actually doing decent. The offense looks bad, but at least it’s not a 20 second goofball match.

After an arrogant cover, Flowe kicks out, retreats to the corner and Purple crashes in the corner and Ring Rat unties Purples boots! Purple yells at Rat, Flowe ties the boots together, Flowe hits a Stage Dive and Purple can’t get up with the boots tied, Flowe Elbow, and Flowe wins.

The Phantom stuff is old. No more of him unless he suddenly gets good.

We then hear Violent J, Tony and Willie beating the hell out of Vincenzo.

Backseat Boyz vs JWO w/Violent J

Choppa City comes out as guest commentators.

The match starts off with Tony and Willie brawling, and then they isolate Tommy, and even start firing in a few Chops for Choppa City at commentary. Tony Back Drops Tommy and tags in Willie for a tandem attack. Willie telegraphs the duck, it’s a bit of a weird stall moment, Willie does hit a Sack of Shit on Tommy as JP gets a blind tag. Backseats pull off a little chicanery, JP dodges the Willie Mack Bronco Buster and start working him over. Double Elbows from the boyz, JP with the Leg Drop for only two. Lots of quick tags, but when Tommy starts pie facing Willie, it looks like JWO might get some offense in. Tony shoves the referee during the pinfall to break the count, and here comes the Willie comeback, but the Backseats distract the referee so he doesn’t see Willie tag out. Double DDT gives the Boyz another two count. Willie finally springs to life and levels the Backseats. Willie tags out to Tony and Lariats for everyone.

Scoop Slam from Tony on Tommy for his Lionsault, Willie hits a Bronco Buster on JP to stall his offense. They toss JP off the top rope, and then Vito and Sal walk out looking for Vincenzo. Backseats roll up Tony for the win and then Sally and Vito start beating the hell out of Tony and Willie.

Yabo comes out to to distract Vito and Sal, then the Brothers of Funstruction music plays and Ruffo slides in from behind and starts beating the hell out of the Luciano Family with a wet floor sign! The Brothers are back! Violent J hits the spray paint on the back of Sally Boy…J-W-O.

In the back Purple Phantom and the Backseats are waiting in the Jasmin line. Willie Mack walks out innocent, the cameraman is next and he says he’s surprised to see the Backseats because he thought they just took it in the “backseat”.

Ring Rat w/Steven Flowe vs Purple Phantom

Purple moron asks for a do over, and Violent J actually approves it. Purple walks out, asks for a rematch because they cheated. Flowe and Rat walk out and Flowe grabs the microphone. Flowe says he bets Purple can’t even beat Ring Rat. Rat is crawling around and then randomly hits Purple in the balls twice when the referee isn’t looking, Stunner from Ring Rat! Rat wins!

CoKane finds Big Al tied up and painted up like HoKane, Alice is now on a tirade to find HoKane.

Blast from the Past: Bloodymania 6, Mad Man Pondo & Necro Butcher vs Head Bangers vs Ring Rydas vs Rock ‘N’ Roll Express 8.12.2012

Title vs Title: American Title & World Heavyweight Title: Father Bronson (c) vs Josh Bishop (c) w/Joel Gertner

Caleb Konley comes out as the guest commentator. Bronson walks out in street clothes saying he had a Dream, that they would dance in a better place than Saginaw, Michigan. Bronson and Joel have a bit of a promo battle. Joel says Bronson is afraid, Bronson and Bishop are face to face. Bishop stomps on Bronson’s toes, Bronson pulls out a crowbar and clips Bishop’s knee and then starts beating the hell out of Bishop.

Bronson calls Caleb down to the ring, and Bronson serves up Bishop, and Caleb smashes Bishop’s skull with the custom title. And they stand over Josh Bishop, the whole match was a set up and never really happened.

HoKane goes back to where Alice was tied up, she’s confused at where Alice is and then Alice shows up to beat the shit out of HoKane and start choking her out with a cable. Barnabas pets HoKane and says “Welcome to my family” as the show fades off.

Overall Score: 7/10

So I found this pretty enjoyable for two major reasons, Father Bronson and J-Rod. J-Rod has such a great look, pretty decent in the ring, and just getting better every week. Bronson can talk, he’s got aura, he’s tall, imposing and creepy. I’m very glad the match never really happened because I didn’t want the risk of Bronson losing the title yet. Also, Gertner was always a favorite of mine in ECW, and that hasn’t changed. Bishop on his Sid Vicious era is a pretty good look and he’s marketed well between JCW and MLW.

Yeah, this was just a lot of the personalities I enjoy, Ruffo coming back and beating the hell out of Vito and Sally Boy was nice, a few interwoven goofball segments about the Jasmin’s baby daddy thing is the correct way to go about it. No extended in the ring promo crap. The only downside…the *Insert Color Here* Phantom. The gimmick is getting old that he always gets stuck in something or just taken off guard. This gimmick has gone on entirely too long. Change his color and make him actually wrestle well…or remove him completely. I’d rather Moshpit Mike in one of his 1000 gimmicks if we need a comedy squash.

Still a good show minus my personal disdain of Phantom. The swerve on the main event, while shitty from a perspective of wanting to see the match, I’m just glad because it’s too early for either of them to lose.
