Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Match Ratings: 7.11.2026

As I said in last week’s article, I won’t fault the show completely on disappointing me as it was all the fault of the editors of the show not noticing Dombrowski’s comment in the Bunkhouse, completely ruining the thread of the episode. Maybe they didn’t think it mattered since these shows have been in the can so long, so information has been available, but it’s still something that needs to be cleaned up, especially if they get to a more reasonable time frame between tapings and episodes.

Let’s see what the show gives us and if commentary spoils the show again!

• Magnus vs Titan: Titan wins via V-Trigger – ****

Results:

Looking at the match card I can tell you something I already dislike. The name Contra Mercs is stupid. It reminds me of “Bullet Club Hunters”, so when you have to use the heel faction’s name just to be opposition is dumb to me. I still like most of the people in the faction, the name is just lazy brain damage.

Magnus vs Titan

Magnus charges, but dodged, Sole Butt, up and Overs, Gamengiri, Flying Crossbody, Dropkick and a Tope con Hilo from Titan! Nice to see the Lucha is starting hot, Titan misses the Stomp, Magnus just chucks him into a Buckle Bomb and Titan bounces out of the ring and literally spills up the ramp. Magnus follows him out and starts throwing him around like a bag of garbage, throats him on the guardrail and Magnus showboats a bit before rolling Titan back in and going for back to back pinfalls but only getting twos. Magnus perches Titan backwards, unlaces the mask and tries to take it off, but stops and just does it to make a point. Stomps Titan and then does Scott Steiner Push Ups. Titan is now in a Neck Crank and Magnus is barking at Don Gato and the crowd. The more the crowd goes against Magnus the more he gets distracted with them. Titan fires out of the corner with a Diving Lariat through the ropes, Gamengiri, but eats an Uppercut. As Magnus tries to Lariat him off the apron, Titan Springs up and Body Scissors to pull Magnus out of the ring. Two Suicidas from Titan and Magnus is searching for a break but Titan is reinvigorated. Springboard Splash from Ttian for 2.

Titan hooks in an Inverted Figure Four, into a Muta Lock, but Magnus grabs the rope before it’s locked in. Titan springs again, misses, Magnus hits a Butterfly Backbreaker for a near fall! Off the commercial we come back and there’s a strike exchange of Overhand Chops before Titan hits a few strikes, Magnus counters, but then Titan Matrix dodge into the Pele, but Magnus hits the Falcon Arrow for both to be down! They start brawling on the apron when they can move, Gamengiri from Titan, Magnus on the Apron, Titan wants the Stomp, but Magnus rolls away. They wrestle on the corner ropes, Magnus grabs Titan and a Superplex into a near fall! Magnus gets caught by a Titan flurry, Heel Kick finish into pulling himself up to the top rope and Titan finally hits the STOMP! But only a two count! Titan wants his Muta Lock, but Cradle counter into a kick and Lariat exchange. Magnus with the Double Knees into a Twisting Butterfly Buster for two!

Magnus wants to end it, but Titan slips it, Tornado DDT, holds on, Facebuster, Superkick into a Diving Stomp on the back! But Magnus kicks out! V-Trigger to the back of Magnus’ head! Titan wins!

Fantastic match that never had a weird slow or overly cooperative spot. 

MLW Women’s World Championship: Shotzi Blackheart (c) vs Kira

Kira is much smaller than Shotzi, but they trade Arm Drags, Shotzi hits her Tiger Feint when Kira in in the corner, Crossbody from Shotzi to follow up, but only a one count. Kira runs through Shotzi’s legs, tries a Back Handspring but fails it and just rolls backwards and the whole situation gets a little clunky from there. Kira hits a Dive on the outside, but Shotzi posts Kira afterwards, hits a Meteora from the apron and works over Kira. Kira continues to favor her left leg, Shotzi hits a Missile Dropkick, boots and Senton as Shotzi Suplexes Kira into the ropes. But Kira trips Shotzi, Tiger Feint into a very sloppy Springboard Tornillo.

Shotzi grabs a Cradle for two and then smashes Kira’s face into the buckles. Kira stalls Shotzi with a Thrust Kick, and goes for a Diving Sunset Flip Powerbomb from Kira, but it doesn’t look good. This whole match looks bad. Kira misses her 450, Switchblade Kick, DDT, and Diving Sen-nope Kira cuts her off. Kira wants a Superplex but Shotzi chucks her off the buckles, Diving Senton, Shotzi retains.

This was a bad match and it wasn’t Shotzi’s fault. Kira screwed up 80% of the offense she tried to execute, so there’s only so much Shotzi could do with that. 

Okumura vs LaBron Kozone

I liked what LaBron brought last week, but I didn’t like the enhancement talent getting so much offense. LaBron has a great look. 

Kozone and Okumura counter strikes early until they just start throwing haymakers and kicks. Kozone blocks the Hip Toss, and works over Okumura, Okumura tries the Headscissors capture, but Kozone gets out of it. Okumura wants to shake hands and Kozone’s youth and naivety shows because he falls for the oldest trick in the book. Eye rake, some outside brawling, Okumura slams Kozone into the post and then tries to continue with a nice Capture Suplex but Kozone no sells it and hits his own Suplex. Kozone wants the Powerbomb but Okumura hits the Cozy Cutter for a two count. Okumura jumps off the middle rope, gets caught and dropped in the Sky High! Back and forth Forearms, hockey fight doesn’t look great, Okumura with Tenzan style Double Chop, but when Okumura bounces off the ropes Kozone lays him out with a Lariat, and Kozone wins!

Solid match for veteran heel versus up and coming new talent.

The “New” Skyscrapers (@DijakFYE and @JoshuaBishop_) have a clear message for the CONTRA Mercs: it’s on sight!

Contra Mercs (Karl Anderson, Krule, Luke Gallows) w/Shotzi vs Contra Unit (Kushida, Ikuro Kwon & Kanenga)

There’s an early brawl, but the Kananga squares off with Gallows, Kwon tries to go after Krule but Krule is winning that one, Karl and Kushida are brawling. Kananga punches through a chair, locks eyes with Krule but before the monsters can fight Gallows and Anderson pull down Kananga, Kwon and Kushida pull away Krule. The brawl continues, this whole match is just a mess of people fighting in the crowd, on the outside, fans throw trash at Kushida, and then Kananga throws Karl into the ring, so we might finally see wrestling. Karl tries to just clobber him, goes for a Double Axe Handle but gets caught and Choke Bombed! LG charges at Kananga and Kananga Scoop Slams LG. Krule takes out Kwon and Kushida so the big boys are facing off.

Kwon grabs Krule and Kananga allows the distraction to happen, Kwon mists Krule, and the referee…calls for the bell? Krule gets caught by Kananga in a Blackhole Slam of sorts. Kananga tries to use the murder spike, but the Good Brothers stop it. This whole match was a complete and utter mess.

It just ends in a brawl, the Skyscrapers attack the Good Brothers and this…was…stupid. 

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Yikes, this show started out great with Magnus and Titan, I was honestly impressed with that match. Then it fell apart a little with Kira being a constant botch machine, makes me wonder if her gimmick is the daughter of Sin Cara. And no I don’t mean Mistico, I literally mean Sin Cara. LaBron had a solid exhibition match, though I wish he did more with his Lariat to really make it look impressive. Then the main event was worthless. Not only do I hate “Bullet Club Hunter” style doofus factions, this match wasn’t a match. It was just a brawl, and Kananga or whatever has no establishment, they didn’t even put his name anywhere. They were introduced as Contra Unit, and we were just supposed know because dude is fat and tall, that he’s problematic? This main event had the same issue that AEW has, they expect the crowd to just know who people are without properly giving them a moment to show who they are. Writing 101, SHOW don’t TELL.

Then the main event, after weapons were used, fans were involved and there was just brawling everywhere…it gets thrown out because of Kwon using Red Mist? Chairs are fine, but mist is a bridge too far? Plus the fact Kananga just stood there and let Krule turn his back to him, grab Kwon, lift him up, just for the disqualification or no contest, whatever spot. Stupid, bad wrestling, worse storytelling.

The wheels are really starting to fall off of this Fusion relaunch. They have no clue how to pace a show and expect far too much roster awareness for a company that didn’t have weekly television for years and these matches have been taped for months. I expected better.
