Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Match Ratings: 7.4.2026

The last two episodes have been decent, nothing spectacular but nothing insulting. Generally above average presentation, even though I don’t understand what Paul Hauser is doing trying this badass “Mercenary” gimmick when he’s part time, over weight and about as scary as a Care Bear on Xanax.

So dumb gimmick aside, the shows have been decent. Let’s hope we continue the decent and no more stupid…here’s looking at you Balcony Jump.

Results:

Bishop Dyer has been locked out of MLW because contract negotiations came to a standstill. Dijak has until the end of the show to find a new tag partner, or vacate the titles.

Southern Crown Championship Bunkhouse Stampede: Trevor Lee vs Andrew Everett vs Ikuro Kwon vs Beastman vs vs Diego Hill vs Jesus Rodriguez vs Paul Hauser vs Festus vs Josh Bishop vs Matthew Justice

Great, two of my least favorite things of the last few weeks in one match, yikes.

Bell rings and Festus cleans house because bell make him go crazy. Everett tries to springboard in but Festus throws him back, Hauser hits a Senton Atomico, and then Jesus rings the bell to shut Festus off. Everett hits a Springboard Crossbody on Hill and Lee, Bishop comes in and starts throwing the smaller guys around until Beastman gets in, Headbutts Bishop and they start throwing fists. Bishop slips the Scoop from Beastman and then bounces him off the ropes and hits his own Slam. Bishop hits Exit 187 on Diego but launches him into a pile of people on the outside.  Bishop then goes for a dive, Justice hits him with a chairshot and then spears him as the show cuts to commercial.

Back from the break, everyone is brawling on the outside except Festus who’s still wandering. The crowd chants for someone to ring the bell, but obviously no one wants Festus back involved. Don Gato rocks Kwon, Beastman and Everett are fighting, Hauser hits the Spinebuster on Kwon and goes for the Clowerleaf to try and take advantage, but Beastman rides down Hauser, Jesus uses Beastman’s bone to clock Beastman. Jesus tries to put Festus into the ring for the easy win, but Tom Lawlor rings the bell to wake up Festus. Festus has Uppercuts for everyone, Jesus and Beastman try to fight Festus, but he takes both men down the steps. Justice and Bishop are brawling, Justice slips the 187 and they head down the steps. Trevor Lee and Diego Hill are the only ones in the ring at this point. Hill gets rocked with a Yakuza Kick, but Diego hits the Tiger Wall Kick into the Enzuigiri! Lee then hits his Rope Run Spanish Fly, but Kwon breaks up the pinfall. Hill kicks Kwon, lots of back and forth as Kwon hits a Shining Wizard on Lee, Hill hits the Dive Bomb on Kwon, but Everett hits the Swanton to break up the pinfall.

Spike Rana from Everett on Hill, Shooting Star Press but Hauser breaks up the pinfall. Everett turns it around and throws out Hauser as Trevor runs in and hits the Cave In on Everett to win the match!

Decent match, but a lot of just brawling off into obscurity and too many mid carders no one cares about.

Teddy heads to the ring after the interview segment and there’s no Undertaker for him to make a match for, so we need to find out what he’s gonna talk about. He introduces Labron Kozone. No clue who the dude is, but he’s got a good look.

Labron Kozone vs Alan Angels

Ahh Angels is still the job guy even in MLW.

Labron shakes off Alan’s attempts at a clench, big strike, Scoop Slam, and a Leg Drop, but Alan kicks out. Alan tries to fire with chops but one chop from Labron folds Alan, and then an Exploder Suplex sends Alan into the corner. Alan is trying to change directions, snaps off a Frankensteiner into a Gamengiri and Labron is actually selling that. Alan flies, gets caught and flipped into a Backbreaker. Labron goes for a Powerbomb but Alan slips it and tries to chop down Labron and keep him in the outside. Dive from Alan, he’s grabbed out of the sky again and Powerbombed into the apron.

Angels is getting too much offense for an exhibition. Labron hits a Twisting Lariat to take Alan’s head off, and win the match.

It was fine, but the match result was never in doubt. Labron looked good though.

Donovan Dijak vs Karl Anderson

Dijak walks out with both Titles, so that’s a good touch given the Ultimatum of tonight.

Dijak goes for a Big Boot on the bell but Karl ducks and lands in a bunch of Forearms and Chops, just rocking Dijak. People may not remember that Karl does have some singles pedigree, even if he’s a tag team specialist. Karl ties up Dijak’s leg in the ropes, kicks at the knee a few times to try and make the skyscraper crumble, and then Karl hits a Plancha, and Dijak is having issues. Karl showboats a little, heads back to the apron and goes for a Jumping move but Dijak catches him and Chokeslams him into the apron. Dijak pushes Karl into the ring and tries to keep on top of him, Karl fights back with Chops, bounces off the ropes but eats a Back Elbow into a Ground and Pound. Dijak gloats, the crowd hates him, and Karl fires up.

He can only manage a few punches before Dijak hits the Sidewalk Slam into an Elevated Crossbody for a two count. Again, Karl tries to fight up with Elbows, Karl tries to play keep away going around to different corners for space, then hits a Diving Neckbreaker for a two count and a commercial break. Coming back, Dijak slips Karl’s move, but Karl shoves him into the Corner, “Hee Yay” Pump Kick into a Front Flip Neckbreaker, but only a two count again. Karl charges, goozled, Dijak slams him into the corner and then mugs him. Dijak perches him, Karl fights back, wants a Flying Cutter, but Dijak blocks it, grabs him and a Spinning Spicolli Driver for a two count!

Karl breaks the goozle, Chops, tries to charge, goozled again, South of Heaven Chokeslam! But Karl kicks out! Dijak takes to the ropes, misses the Moonsault, Pump Kick from Karl, strike exchange, Dijak wants a Discus Lariat but Karl catches the Spinebuster for two! Karl is feeling it, charge and eats the boot. Feast Your…nope! Karl counters into a Schoolboy and gets the win!

After the match, Josh Bishop attacks Karl Anderson. From one Bishop to another, Josh is the newest Skyscraper! While this Bishop is quite a bit shorter, since Josh is only 6’4″, he’s still a good wrestler, so I’m not mad.

Overall Score: 5.5/10

While still presented well, they messed up during editing, and the fact they had 4 months to fix this and no one noticed, is embarrassing. During the Bunkhouse, Dombrowski already called Bishop the newest Skyscraper. Thus invalidating the “story” of the entire episode. I don’t blame Dombrowski, I blame the editor for not removing that line or having him overdub something else. The Bunkhouse also was just dumb gimmicks and guys with not a ton of build. Trevor Lee was the only one with momentum that we’ve seen on Fusion so far, Andrew Everett still comes up with the dumbest gimmicks, Bishop could’ve been a threat if they didn’t involve Justice just to screw him, Festus was a joke, but a good joke. Hauser should never hold gold, Jesus Rodriguez, WWE fans would know him as Ricardo Rodriguez…so he’s winning nothing. It was a really obvious match since only Lee matters.

The next match was a showcase for Labron that went too long and Angels got too much offense. So that was kind of nothing. And while the main event was serviceable to keep the Good Brothers vs Skyscrapers feud moving, it proved rather inconsequential since the whole Bishop reveal was undermined by bad editing.

For people who didn’t catch what Dombrowski said, the show probably landed better. But having meh to mediocre matches and ruining your own story thread…is not really smart for business.
