AEW brought the beach back into focus this week with Dynamite: Beach Break, and it was not just a cute summer theme. Kenny Omega defeated MJF to win the AEW World Championship, Kyle Fletcher captured the AEW International Championship, Willow Nightingale returned, and AEW turned a themed television episode into one of its most important Dynamites of the year.

3. AEW Dynamite: Beach Break 2026

Recency is always dangerous with lists like this, but AEW Beach Break 2026 earns its place because AEW used the theme for real movement, not filler. The show was built around MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega, with the added stipulation that Omega would never challenge for the title again if he lost. Omega won the match and the championship, with coverage noting Will Ospreay’s involvement late in the match and Omega finishing MJF with the One-Winged Angel.

2. WCW Bash at the Beach 1994

Bash at the Beach 1994 launched WCW’s most famous beach-branded event series, and it did so with the biggest move the company could make at the time: Hulk Hogan’s WCW in-ring debut. Hogan challenged Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the main event, giving WCW a true marquee attraction and signaling a major shift in the company’s direction.
