Darby Allin Rules Out AEW Match With Mick Foley, Open To Tagging With Him

Darby Allin says a singles match with Mick Foley in AEW is off the table despite Foley naming him as a dream opponent. Speaking to Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI, Allin made clear he would never wrestle Foley, but would eagerly team with him — drawing a parallel to his reluctance to wrestle Sting while being open to teaming with him.

Allin explained teaming offers “more meat on the bone” and that he wouldn’t want to risk putting Foley in a spot fans feel he doesn’t need to be in, preferring to support and protect him in the ring. Foley has said weight loss and joint replacements have improved his mobility, but he’d still need to avoid head trauma; he hasn’t wrestled since the 2012 Royal Rumble.
