ESPN Requested Expanded Card for WWE Night of Champions 2026
WWE’s Night of Champions on June 27 in Saudi Arabia ran a six-match card after ESPN reportedly asked WWE to “add another match or two” to strengthen the paid portion of the PLE on ESPN Unlimited. Two matches—the King of the Ring final (Oba Femi over Jey Uso) and the Queen of the Ring final (IYO SKY over Liv Morgan)—aired during the hour-one ESPN simulcast while four additional matches, including a steel cage bout and three title matches topped by Sami Zayn defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship, were exclusive to Unlimited subscribers.
WrestleVotes reports ESPN plans to continue simulcasting the first hour of WWE PLEs through at least fall 2026 to drive subscriptions by offering the opening hour for free. ESPN remains WWE’s exclusive U.S. broadcast partner for PLEs, with international distribution handled by Netflix.
