Sami Zayn Reveals John Cena’s Touching Text After WWE Title Win
Sami Zayn said he’s been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support since capturing the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, telling ESPN New York’s Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg that many called the victory “overdue” and “well-deserved.” Becky Lynch and Kevin Owens were among the first to celebrate and applaud Zayn’s moment at the Premium Live Event last weekend.
Zayn singled out a particularly meaningful text from John Cena, who reminded him that fewer than 1% of people who pursue pro wrestling ever reach that level and told him, “you did it your way.” Zayn called the message touching and said Cena’s reminder about the difficulty of reaching the top made the achievement feel even more significant.
