Three 2022 Voicemails From Vince McMahon and Ari Emanuel Surface in WWE Shareholder Case

Three voicemails involving Vince McMahon and Ari Emanuel from 2022 were released as exhibits in the ongoing WWE shareholder litigation after being obtained via a FOIA request by Brandon Thurston. The clips include a September 2022 message in which Emanuel tells McMahon he can be helped with DOJ and SEC investigations, noting conversations with Latham & Watkins and offering to “indemnify” McMahon — language that Emanuel framed as covering civil liabilities and downplaying any criminal exposure.

The filings prompted a judge to presume, due to lost evidence, that Emanuel’s offer of indemnification influenced McMahon’s thinking during the WWE-UFC merger talks that created TKO, a point central to shareholder claims that the deal preserved McMahon’s power at shareholders’ expense. A December 2022 voicemail from McMahon to Raine Group advisor Jeff Sine, sent after a meeting with Emanuel attended by Linda and Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque and Mark Shapiro, has McMahon saying partnering with Emanuel “solves a lot of problems.”
