Yota Tsuji Criticizes AEW Booking, Invites Tony Khan to NJPW Chicago Event

Ahead of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji suggested boycotting the event over how AEW has handled the title, saying the belt has too often been defended in four‑way matches or against competitors who hadn’t earned a title shot. Tsuji argued that such booking has undermined the championship’s prestige and called attention to the issue ahead of the crossover card.

Despite the critique, Tsuji stressed he does like AEW President Tony Khan and extended a personal olive branch, inviting Khan to NJPW’s Chicago event and even offering a round of golf as a sign of goodwill. The comments add an unexpected personal element to the build toward Forbidden Door.
