Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Ratings: 8.15.2026

Well after the lame duck that was the Blood & Thunder episode…I want to hope we get something decent. But since the big match being promoted is a Texas…sorry Tennessee Tornado match with the Skyscrapers and Good Brothers…I anticipate more of the usual “random bullshit go” booking.

This returned so well with the first Fusion episode and main eventing with Trevor Lee and Austin Aries…then everything else has been one mess after another. Just figure it out, stop making competitive Squash matches and learn how to end an episode clean.

Lets see if I have a stroke today!

This is just a random Battle Royal for nothing, Don Gato even walks in wearing his blazer and dress pants. 

Nothing important is happening, but they’re focusing on Jumbo to give him some exposure. Labron eliminates Manny Lo cause…who cares. Diego Hill skins the cat but Everett has to obviously move into the Headscissors so it looks dumb. Sequoyah does a back flip off of Jumbo and gets eliminated. Everett tries the Chokeslam on Jumbo because of his moronic “mental giant” gimmick. The dumbest thing and Ikuro Kwon mists Everett and he’s eliminated thankfully. It’s not a funny gimmick, its moronic.

Kwon and Okumura try to double team Jumbo but he takes them out, hits a dude with another dude. Jumbo and Don Gato bump into each other but they have an understanding. Gato Lariats out Azteca 44 and pulls a Mil Mascaras by Eliminating himself and Azteca 44. Mark Coffey gets eliminated by Labron, so they High and Low him, to get Labron eliminated.  Wolfgang, Diego Hill and Jumbo are the last three. Lethal Injection from Diego, but Jumbo just stood there and watched the sequence…Wolfgang at least knows how to wrestle and cuts off Diego to eliminate him but Jumbo takes out Wolfgang because this was just an exhibition match for him. No one looked good and this was just a mess for the sake of having a Battle Royal.

See this whole match is dumb because Kozone is supposed to have a match with Joe Coffey on this show today. Why would you have him pull double duty? That’s just…dumb. I know these matches are 4 months old, but do the people editing things not have a QC check? Between Dombrowski ruining the Skyscraper reveal and putting Kozone in a Battle Royal right before his singles match…that’s some low IQ carny crap.

Joe Coffey w/GBOT vs Labron Kozone

They throw Elbows, Coffey misses the Lariat, Labron hits an Uppercut and then eats a Spin Kick to get Joe caught in the ropes. Kozone cracks him around the outside, Joe tries to counter it but Labron counters that and Joe is getting rocked. Chops, Kicks and Forearms from Labron, Joe keeps trying to fight but Labron has answers. Labron gets Joe up for a Powerbomb but he counters out, Forward Senton Roll, into a Vader Bomb but Labron is resilient. They club, but Joe Whips Labron into the corner and catches the referee. Ref doesn’t fully bump but got squished. More offense from Joe, Side Slam and a two count.

Joe tries to stay on him, but Labron is fighting back to standing, wanted a Crucifix Bomb but Labron slips it. Labron tries a Powerbomb but his back gives out, Joe works over the back and mid section with clubbing blows more. Coffey wants a Sammartino Backbreaker but Labron slips it, nearly gets the win on the Backslide. More strikes, Spinning Backfist, Leg Sweep, Senton and Michinoku Driver, but Coffey kicks out. Labron hits a Discus Elbow, Coffey rolls through a Powerbomb, wants a Boston Crab but Labron fights out, Double Jump Crossbody from Joe, Running Shoulder Tackle for a two count. Coffey blocks Ball Game but Labron keeps looking for something, they exchange Pump Kicks, Labron hits a German Suplex but Coffey no sells it, Headbutt, but Labron No Sells with the Kip Up, Uranage, then a Jacknife Pin, but Joe kicks out. Wolfgang and Mark distract Labron and an O’Connor Roll gives Joe with the win.

A decent match, but the fact that the Battle Royal happened and wasn’t acknowledged proves it wasn’t supposed to be back to back. So I had to take some points away.

I do love Austin Aries, there’s an interview segment with him and Mistico and it’s good stuff. Aries has to Google Translate what was said and that makes the facial expressions and what he says even better. It seems like the match next week becomes a triple threat, Aries vs Mistico vs Averno.

A Zamaya vignette is nice, I like her a lot. I’d rather see her in a match than just a vignette, but something is better than nothing. 

MLW Tag Team Titles Tennessee Tornado Match: The Skyscrapers (c) vs The Good Brothers

Dijak and Dyer walk out as the Skyscraper team.

A lot of early talking, but they swing at the bell. Dyer and Gallows pair off, Dijak starts whipping Karl with his trench coat, but Gallows and Anderson fight back, isolate Dijak and hit a Double Team Neckbreaker before depositing both big idiots to the outside. Gallows starts bouncing Dijak’s face off the apron, Karl works over Dyer and Good Brothers are very in control. The Brother Brothers grab a table and the crowd pops. Dijak does take to sky, Tope con Hilo to take out the Good Brothers before they can take out Dyer. Dyer finds a crutch, starts lighting up Gallows, Karl tries to help his buddy but eats a crutch shot. Dijak finds a Singapore Cane, and now the Skyscrapers are working over the Brothers but Dyer misses the chairshot that would’ve brained Gallows against the post.

Dyer Back Drops Karl on the apron and Gallows starts giving out wholesale chairshots for both Skyscrapers, grabs the cane and starts using it on the Double D Douche Knuckles. We hit commercial and when we come back, Dyer is choking Gallows with the chair. Gallows is isolated, Dijak slides in, they want to Double Chokeslam Gallows from the ring to the Table on the Outisde, but Karl breaks it up with wild chairshots. Now we’ve got Karl and Dyer in the ring, LG and Dijak on the outside. Drop Toe Hold into a chair from Karl to Dyer, he chops Dyer in the throat, but Dyer hits Deep Six to counter Karl’s rope run! The first near fall of the match. All four are back in, Dyer and Dijak Double Chokeslam Gallows. Karl is trying to fight two on one. Dyer is rocked, Dijak wanted the Facebreaker and Lariat combo, but Karl hits the Neckbreaker to stop it. Karl goes up, but Dyer cuts him off, Discus Boot for Gallows, Spicolli Driver and Moonsault on Karl, 1-2-…KARL KICKS OUT!

Dyer and Dijak yell at the referee and now they need something else. They go to run it back, but Gallows has a trash can lid, cracks Dijak with it, Dijak falls through the table, MAGIC KILLER! Good Brothers finally win the MLW Tag Team titles.

Overall Score: 6.75/10

Well color me shocked, the Tornado tag, actually ended clean, it was solid, it felt like a Grudge Match, and there weren’t a ton of falsies. While I will still heavily criticize whatever blind monkeys are editing these shows to leave in spoilers and nonsensical things like having Labron in back to back matches, without acknowledging it…the match quality was actually good. The interviews with Aries and the Good Brothers were good, Zamaya getting a spotlight is nice since she new and unique to MLW is tremendous. Also the commercial with Danny McBride and some other dude talking about sucking Don Gato off for tequila or something, that just popped me. It was random, but Danny McBride is good stuff.

Yeah…I don’t love a pointless Battle Royal just to get over a new big guy and I think its dumb to have Labron in back to back matches without actually making it a talking point of the story. But this was probably the second best episode since the return of Fusion.
