Andrew’s TNA Impact Results & Ratings: 8.13.2026

So like I mentioned last week, ending with a contract signing is a little lame, but it was unique and we should be in store for one heck of a match. It would be nice if TNA doesn’t…well…TNA up the match and overbook it or add some dumb shenanigans. A little interference from Ryan and Matt is to be expected, but a fairly clean finish would be nice.

Aside from that we saw Mara Sade’s last match in TNA, so all of my picks for the finals are out of the Knockouts Tournament, and even though I haven’t minded TNA on a whole since the Dreamer firing, the Knockouts division is hot garbage. I know there’s names like J-Rod and Kaci Lennox getting floated out there, and those would be two awesome signings.

Let’s see if something interesting happens tonight or if JCW continues to be the best show on Thursdays.

• Ricky Sosa vs Brian Myers w/Bear Bronson: Sosa wins via Headshot – ** 3/4

Results:

Ricky Sosa vs Brian Myers w/Bear Bronson

Myers opens up talking smack, throws his shirt at Sosa and then Sosa tees off on him. Heavy Strikes, a big Senton and he looks for the Running Uppercut, but Myers powders. Sosa chases because he’s a young and dumb babyface, so Bear distracts him enough for Myers to post him and then hit the Back Drop on the apron. Myers throws Ricky back in and starts working him over with Suplexes, Knees and a Facelock to keep him grounded. After a few more deliberate knees, Myers goes for a Sleeper but Ricky fires up, ducks a Lariat from Myers and hits an Overhead Kick to finally get him some space. Two Charging Forearms, Up and Over into a Snap Power Slam and Lionsault, but only for two. Ricky wants the Uppercut again, but Bear gets on the apron. Ricky Yakuza Kicks Bear off the apron, but Myers hits his own Overhead Kick, into an Implant DDT…but only a two.

Roster Cut is lined up but Ricky counters it with a Dropkick. Ricky wants his Headshot again, but Cedric Alexander runs down and hops on the apron, so Cedric eats the Headshot. Myers hits a Side Effect, grabs the X Division title that Cedric left for Myers, Leon Slater runs in to snatch the belt from Myers and Ricky hits the Headshot for the win!

Leon gets on the mic again to challenge Cedric for Lockdown one more time. Calls him a scared jealous little bitch and Leon is willing to put anything on the line. Cedric wants to erase Leon’s championship reign. So his counter is Title vs record books. Leon agrees and the match is happening at Lockdown. That’s unique at least. 

Moose comes out to copy Frankie Kazarian. So he comes out in a varsity jacket and a scarf, says he looks like a douchebag, and tosses the sunglasses and scarf. The crowd is mostly behind the Moose chant gimmick, and playing along with him during this glorified hype session. Kaz’s music hits and he comes out after the the majority of the promo. Kaz calls the “Call and Response” stupid but then decides to make the crowd do it for him just so he can yell at them. The crowd rejects Kaz, he says the game sucks and he’s not playing anymore. He says comparing Frankie Kazarian to Moose is like comparing filet mignon to cheap gas station food…like Wawa. Which incites the crowd since its Philly. Moose tells Kaz that he doesn’t stand for insulting his “guest” so if Kaz walks in the ring he’s gonna punch him. Kaz does it anyway, keeps running his mouth so Moose clocks him, they brawl a bit, security and pull apart moment.

Mustafa Ali, John Skyler & Agent Zero vs BDE, Rich Swann & Trey Miguel

Trey Miguel is the secret team member, and the crowd goes…they don’t care. They make no noise because Trey sucks. Glad that he’s healed, just because I think the dude is garbage doesn’t mean I wish injury on him…but he’s cheeks.

Ali tags out instantly since Trey starts and tags in Skyler so Skyler gets turn upside down and inside out as the early going is just an exhibition for Trey since he’s healthy. tag happens, all three take out everyone, and do the Dragon Gate Middle Flip Triplicate Dropkick to send Zero to the outside, and we go to commercial.

As we come back, Agent Zero hits a Flatliner on Rich Swann, Kips Up and tags in Ali. A Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors spikes Ali and gives Swann a moment. Ali tags in Skyler first but Swann kicks off, tags in Trey and sweeps the leg, hits a bunch of Dropkicks and strikes, Ali tries to interfere but Ali fights him off, Zero comes in to take out BDE and Swann, but Trey flips through the Chokeslam, Gamengiri and then dodges so Zero posts himself. Knee Slide DDT to the outside on Skyler, Skyler is rocked. Back in, Scorpion Kick into Lightning Spiral and Trey gets the pinfall.

Zero attacks Trey after the match with a Choke Bomb, Ali wants him to do it again, but Hotch makes the save.

A makeup chair cat fight and then Xia just runs away after a shove? This division may need more than Kaci Lennox and J-Rod…it might need Jesus. 

KO TV Tournament: M by Elegance w/Elegance Brand vs Indi Hartwell

M shoulder checks Indi during her entrance and Indi takes umbrage and attacks Maggie before the bell. So the bell rings and they start to brawl a bit. Maggie stops an Irish Whip with her long legs, looks to kick Indi, but Indi catches the foot, Maggie tries to beg off but a bit of back and forth, Indi hits a Bulldog for a one counter, rocks Maggie again and goes to the top but Maggie cuts her off. Maggie puts Indi in a Tree of Woe facing out, so Maggie hits the Drive By while Indi is hanging over the post. Indi continues to get rocked and her face bounce off the apron as Maggie with the Vertical Suplex on the floor and Indi has had no response since getting tripped on the post. Maggie rolls her back in, for a near fall, chokes her against the ropes and Indi tries to fight back up but Maggie with Knees and Kicks to keep Indi on the receiving end.

A few knees by Maggie get driven into Indi’s back, Bow and Arrow Submission, Indi tries to fight out of it, but Maggie keeps her down and keeps the Bow and Arrow locks in. Maggie goes for a Springboard Crossbody after some arrogant showboating, Indi moves, back to back Lariats and a Spinebuster gives Indi a two count. Indi looks for the top rope, the Philly crowd is all for Indi but Maggie cuts her off again. Indi fights her off, Diving Elbow to the back, but only 2! Indi connects with a Big Boot and Maggie falls to the outside, Indi looks annoyed but goes to get her. Elayna and Xia however are brawling into ringside.

Maggie takes advantage of the chaos, shoves Indi into the steps, hits a Moonsault and has a handful of tights as she pins Indi and wins!

Eddie Edwards w/Lish vs KC Navarro

Bell rings, Eddie charges and eats a Superkick, into a 305, and looks for the Blessing, but Eddie powders. So KC Dives after him, throws him back in and connects with a Frog Splash for two. The crowd is more behind KC this week, Lish grabs KC’s foot while Eddie distracts the ref and Eddie posts KC around the world nearly, slamming him into 3 out of 4 corners. Eddie with a Snapmare into a Sleeper, but KC is getting the “Ohhh KC Navarro” chant as he fights up. Eddie tries to stop the momentum and turn it into a Backpack Stunner, but KC counters that, Satellite DDT. Lish throws a shoe to distract the referee as she slides in Kenny. Navarro is wise to it, steps on the stick, Superkicks Eddie, hits him with the kendo stick and then hits the Blessing in Disguise.

KC wins but instantly gets mugged by the rest of The System. Aichner, Ricky Sosa and Jada Stone run out with weapons to stop make the save…and we know where this is leading. Santino’s music hits and he declares a Lethal Lockdown intergender style. Aichner, Stone, Sosa and Navarro vs The System (Bear, Myers & The Edwards). 

TNA World Championship Match: Nic Nemeth (c) vs Jeff Hardy

They posture for a few moments, but Nic and Jeff trade Hammerlocks, as Jeff then catches a Superkick, spins Nic and tries to snap off a Twist of Fate but Nic retreats. Nic then takes a moment, wrestles Jeff to the Matt, and hits multiple Cradles but Jeff kicks out, yet is visibly dizzy as Nic then Dropkicks Jeff and tries to stay on him but Jeff counters, starts the around the world Head Smashes into the Buckles, but then Nic counters. Jeff starts looking for his Spinal Destination submission but Nic finds the ropes and then takes advantage of the break to drag Jeff’s face across the ropes, claw at the eyes, and just generally showboat and take cheapshots.

Jeff ducks the Lariat, the Mule Kick sends Nic to the outside, Jeff hits his dance before throwing himself from the apron onto Nic. We then go to commercial. Back in, we see Nic pull of his Shot Through the Heart Elbow, goes a Sleeper to keep Jeff grounded and stays on top of him. Nic measure Jeff, looks for a Splash or Bronco Buster, but Jeff moves and Nic crashes into the corner. Jeff starts his comeback, Fisted, Polish Hammer, Lariat, Back Elbow, Manhattan Drop, Low Leg Drop, Low Drop Kick and an Elbow for two! Jeff’s classic comeback with the Elbow added for flourish. Jeff wants Spinal Destination again, but Nic gets out of it with a poke to the eye, Leaping DDT and Jeff kicks out at two!

Nic kicks the Knee, wants a FameASSer, but Jeff turns it into a Sitout Powerbomb for only two. The crowd hates the two, Jeff hits a Twist, Nic bounces off the ropes, Jeff wants another but Nic turns it into a Superkick and falls into the cover. Jeff turns it into a Cradle at two, but they’re in the ropes so the cradle is broken. Nic wants Danger Zone, but Jeff shrugs him off and in a Twist of Fate! Jeff goes up, shirt comes off, Jeff Swantons into Nic’s Knees! Nic tries to quick pin but Jeff kicks out. Superkick, no, Twist, no, spins through and Danger Zone! Nic Nemeth retains!

Overall Score: 6/10

So objectively…nothing was egregious. Do I think the Knockouts Title set up is stupid? Yes. Do I think it causing interference in the KO TV tournament match is dumber? Yes. Do I hate the idea of an intergender Lethal Lockdown when its not the Tess Blanchard World Champion era? Very Yes. But…just because I hate it, doesn’t mean it’s wholly illogical. The rosters are thin, so they’re trying to give shine to newer wrestlers that they hopefully have signed for a decent amount of time while having established names try to get them over. I get it.

With all that said, the show was tolerable given the pieces they have to work with.  The fact they might actually push Harley Hudson is nice. Trey being back is at least another body on the roster to mix up matches, even though I think he sucks. Plus the main event was really good for a TV main event, two established and still over guys. The crowd was into it, and nothing looked bad.

Thusly, the show wasn’t flashy, not working with a lot, but it wasn’t offensive. Boring…but inoffensive.
