Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Ratings: 9.12.2026
We’ve got a few Opera Cup opening matches for MLW Fusion! Main evented with Brick Savage versus Matt Riddle!
At this point, this show is like 45 minutes of Chinese Water Torture for me. The match quality is usually abysmal, the editing is atrocious and the weekly Squash match is tiring. Maybe they’ll change the formula soon, but they’re also still using three month old footage, so…I doubt anything will change. This is like eating stale crackers with tap water.
But I guess with the start of the Opera Cup, we might get less misery matches. So I’m either gonna be shocked or praying for a concussion…let’s find out.
Matt Riddle (@SuperKingofBros) has a fresh cut, but he has the same thing to say: @realKILLERkross owes him!

Lady Glory vs Zamaya
Well here’s our Squash match of the week. We get a plucky new girl from Puerto Rico who looks like Mimi from Rent…so Zamaya will kill her in 2 minutes or less. One song…Glory…
Glory tries to pick a spot but Zamaya fires off, keeps her in the corner, Glory sucks a Lariat and hits a Codebreaker. But as she tries to continue her offense, Zamaya blocks and takes her head off with Glory’s offense looking really slow. Zamaya just smashes Glory’s face into the mat 4 or 5 times, then chokes her against the ropes. Glory tries to shove Zamaya but Zamaya gets pissed, Fisherman Suplex, release style into a Running Knee, but she lifts Glory at two and hits a Spicolli Driver for the win. Like I said…Squash.
Might’ve been 3 minutes because Zamaya played with her food, but still worthless. I like Zamaya too, I just hate Squash matches, especially on a 45 minute show. Give Zamaya some competition that matters.
A Black Tiger IX vignette…interesting.
Opera Cup Opening Round: Joe Coffey w/GBOT vs LaBron Kozone
Tie Ups over and over, before Joe tries to Chop at the arm, but LaBron gets away from Joe, hits the ropes and grabs a Headlock down to the ground. LaBron Kips Up eventually, Joe Chops him but LaBron explodes with a his own Chop, Back Body Drop and Shotgun Kick. Mark pulls Joe out to safety and while the referee is distracted, Wolfgang trips LaBron so Joe attacks. Blindside attack, Bicycle Kick, rams him into the corner and Side Slam for a two.
Joe starts throwing punches, LaBron tries to scoop him, but Joe slips it and tires to keep working on the back of LaBron. World of Sport counters and Submission attempt chain wrestling before LaBron just dropkicks Joe in the face. The back is still giving LaBron issues, so Joe can finally get the Boston Crap in, but Labron manages to get out of it, kicks out of it, and then Joe Headbutts LaBron into the Front Flip Senton, tries the Vader Bomb Elbow, but misses! Joe charges, gets caught and LaBron hits an Exploder Suplex. LaBron connecting with punches, Backfists, a Sweep, Senton, and Joe shakes off the Senton and John Woo Dropkick into LaBron’s face, but Joe charges and LaBron hits a Big Wiggle style Scoop Slam Driver for two!
LaBron sets up for Ball Game, Mark tries to distract, but LaBron is all over both Coffey boys. Dive is a big spot for LaBron, but Wolfgang distracts LaBron next and gives Joe time to hit the Double Jump Moonsault, only for two though. Joe wants the Discus Forearm, but LaBron blocks, then LaBron wants Ball Game, but Joe blocks, eats a Suplex, no sells, German Suplex on LaBron for two. The next sequence falls apart with LaBron telegraphing a Backslide Counter and mostly missing a Capo Kick. But LaBron hits the ropes and hits Ball Game, so LaBron moves on.
An okay match that fell apart at the end and was also paced too quickly. They’re both big guys, they need more space for moves to matter.
Don Gato is having cool times on the streets of New York!!

Anthony Greene vs Diego Hill
In a match of no one cares, you would have to assume Diego wins this because he’s at least established.
Early on Diego does a dumb little dance as he flips and dodges and rocks Anthony Greene. I’m unimpressed because it looks beyond fake. Takes 20 seconds to pander and then Baseball Slide into a Mat Tiger Feint…because sure. Then Diego takes more excessive time to put on a Knicks Jersey, so of course he gets caught with a Super Kick, an Underhook Slam into a Half Crab. Diego goes through the ropes to dodge offense, tries a springboard but Greene hits the Stun Gun. Dive sends Diego into the guardrail and Greene pulls off the Jersey. Greene spits on the Knicks Jersey and flosses his balls which of course gives Diego more than enough time to recover, Big Boot and Sasuke Special. Christ this is lame.
Greene sells in the furthest corner because…reasons, so Diego hits a Springing Back Heel Kick into a Moonsault for two. You Can’t Escape, but Greene escapes, hits a Reverse Powerslam into a Tommikaze for two. Stupid counters left and right, Super Kick sends Diego rigid but Greene misses the Springboard Moonsault. Diego crawls up the ramp so he runs down and hits a Cutter from Outside In, Double Jump Corkscrew Moonsault.
Actual garbage. It was just moves for the sake of doing moves and gave me a stroke.
Brick Savage w/Josey Samael vs Matt Riddle
Brick runs Riddle into the corner and instantly gets physical with the referee. Riddle uses a push kick to keep distance and grins, goes for a Flying Triangle and a few quick shots, but Brick grabs the foot and One Handed Spinebuster. Brick smashes Matt in the corner, rocks him with successive lariats and Matt falls face first. Brick then tries to pull Matt’s arm out of it’s socket, tries to fight up but then gets kicked in the chest. Body Shots for days from Matt Riddle, and I don’t mean the Jell-o style. But Brick absorbs them and levels Matt again.
Assessing his prey, Brick squats down and goads Matt. Matt hits the Flash Kick, but Brick doesn’t budge and tosses Matt in the air and then Thrust Kicks him into tomorrow. Brick goes for a Tsunami, but misses, Matt’s got his motor going, Bootwash, Forearm Wash, Knee Crash, Floating Bro, but Brick shakes it off, ragdolls Riddle and Powerbombs him. Brick wins via 12 to 6.
Overall Score: 4/10
They still continue their garbage even during a tournament. And there weren’t any fun Danny McBride commercials for the YouTube feed. Zamaya, as I said, I love her look, she’s money…but Squash matches are for losers. Stop it, you’re making your damn roster look useless with just throwing fodder at new faces. Diego and Greene…that might’ve been fun for people who like the silly worthless “all flips no logic” style, but I’d rather eat glass and get run over by a Monster Truck. LaBron and Joe had some potential because they had real beef…but the pacing was bad. No one’s moves looked impactful until the finish, and the sequence before the finish was fumbled so hard Deshaun Watson suddenly felt a sigh of relief and he doesn’t know why.
Now, the main event, while also effectively a Squash match, ACTUALLY MADE BRICK LOOK IMPRESSIVE. Riddle is a former champ, he’s won most things in MLW, so the fact that Brick just shrugged off most of his offense and tossed him like a pizza, was the correct way to get over a new monster. So the show gets the Bret Hart special because it at least stuck the landing for a change, but getting there was a comedy of their continue carny crap show.
