Daredevil: Born Again will end with Season 3, Bungie restores vaulted Destiny 2 content and the Paramount-WBD merger clears another hurdle.
Marvel finally knows where Daredevil: Born Again ends.
The Disney+ series will conclude with its upcoming third season, while Bungie is preparing to reverse one of Destiny 2’s most controversial decisions by restoring vaulted content. Meanwhile, the massive Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger has moved another major step toward closing.
It’s the Bandwagon Nerds News Report for September 22, 2026!
Daredevil: Born Again Will End With Season 3
Daredevil: Born Again will conclude with its upcoming third season on Disney+. Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock, bringing the current continuation of the Netflix-era Daredevil story toward a defined ending rather than leaving the series open indefinitely.
A planned conclusion is probably better for Daredevil than trying to stretch the series simply because the character remains popular. Matt Murdock can continue appearing elsewhere in the MCU even after his solo show ends, which allows Season 3 to resolve its central story without pretending Marvel has to stop using Daredevil entirely.
That distinction has become increasingly important in interconnected franchises. A television series can end while the character survives, giving writers permission to finish something instead of treating every finale as another commercial for what comes next.
Bungie Is Bringing Vaulted Destiny 2 Content Back
Bungie announced plans to restore previously vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations and raids as part of a broader shift in how it manages the long-running game. The studio also outlined plans to continue evolving Marathon alongside those Destiny changes.
Content vaulting became one of Destiny 2’s most controversial ideas because players could lose access to material they had previously purchased. Restoring that material addresses a preservation problem while also making the game less intimidating for returning players trying to understand years of missing story.
The larger question is how much can realistically come back at once. Destiny has accumulated an enormous amount of material, and restoring everything without creating another bloated technical mess will be much harder than simply announcing that the vault is opening.
Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Merger Clears Its Final Major Hurdle
Paramount’s $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery cleared its final major regulatory hurdle Monday, with the combined company expected to close the deal in approximately two weeks. The merger places Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., CBS, CNN, HBO, DC Studios, Paramount+, HBO Max and numerous cable networks beneath one corporate umbrella.
The scale is difficult to overstate. Batman, Superman, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, SpongeBob SquarePants and several of Hollywood’s largest television brands will effectively live inside the same corporation.
Whether that produces a healthier entertainment business is another question entirely. Consolidation can simplify streaming strategies and reduce duplicated infrastructure, but it also concentrates an extraordinary amount of creative power and intellectual property under fewer decision-makers.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered Gets a Physical Release
Physical editions of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered will launch November 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. Crystal Dynamics and PlayEveryWhere are handling the remaster, with PLAION distributing the physical versions.
Legacy of Kain continues benefiting from the industry’s renewed interest in preserving older catalog games. Defiance may not carry the same mainstream recognition as some larger franchises, but the series maintains an unusually dedicated audience decades after its original run.
Physical editions are especially welcome for older games being revived because preservation is part of the appeal. A remaster that exists only behind a digital storefront still depends on that storefront remaining available forever.
Cronos: Lazarus Shows Off Its New Story Content
Bloober Team released a new gameplay presentation for Cronos: Lazarus, the upcoming story expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn. The footage focuses on new combat encounters and Pathfinder abilities while extending the survival-horror world introduced in the base game.
Bloober has become considerably more confident about showing gameplay rather than relying entirely on atmosphere. That evolution matters after years where the studio’s reputation was often tied more closely to mood and presentation than mechanical depth.
Lazarus now gets to test whether Cronos can become a continuing horror property rather than simply another well-received standalone release.
Red Sea Film Festival Cancels Its 2026 Edition
The Red Sea International Film Festival canceled its 2026 event, which had been scheduled for December 3 through December 12 in Jeddah. Organizers said the festival intends to return next year.
The cancellation removes another major stop from an already crowded international festival calendar. Red Sea had rapidly developed into a significant marketplace and awards-season networking event, making the decision more consequential than simply losing another collection of premieres.
For studios, filmmakers and distributors, festivals increasingly function as business infrastructure as much as cultural events. Removing one means projects lose another place to find financing, buyers and international visibility.
Silent Hill: Townfall Leads This Week’s Game Releases
Silent Hill: Townfall headlines a busy release week that also includes CONTROL Resonant, Dragon Quest XI S on Switch 2 and several smaller titles.
Townfall carries the most curiosity because Konami has spent the last several years rebuilding Silent Hill through multiple projects rather than relying on one giant relaunch. Each release therefore has to prove the revival has enough creative range to survive beyond nostalgia.
CONTROL Resonant provides a completely different kind of attraction, while Dragon Quest XI continuing onto another platform shows how long genuinely strong RPGs can remain commercially useful.
Monday’s stories all involve companies deciding what should stay, what should return and what should finally end. Marvel is giving Daredevil a finish line, Bungie is reopening parts of Destiny that once disappeared, and Crystal Dynamics continues excavating Legacy of Kain.
Meanwhile, one enormous media merger is about to combine enough franchises to make the word “consolidation” feel almost inadequate.
