Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple

One of rock music’s most influential drummers gets the documentary treatment in Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple, an intimate look at the life, musicianship and legacy of the longtime Rush drummer and lyricist.

Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, the documentary combines rare archival footage and personal reflections with a unique musical tribute. Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are joined by an all-star group of drummers including Stewart Copeland, Danny Carey, Chad Smith and Gavin Harrison, who attempt to tackle some of Peart’s famously demanding drum parts.

The documentary receives its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 16 before airing September 23 on CBC and streaming on CBC Gem in Canada.

The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
