Stephanie Vaquer Shocks Liv Morgan in Chile

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Liv Morgan Saturday night at WWE Live in Santiago, Chile to regain the Women’s World Championship. Becky Lynch served as special guest referee for the match, which gave Vaquer the championship in front of her home-country audience and began her second reign with the title.

The timing makes this a genuine surprise. Morgan defeated Vaquer on Raw September 7 after interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, then retained against her again during Friday’s WWE Live event in Buenos Aires. Daniel Garcia Wins the Butcher Battle Royal

Daniel Garcia won AEW’s 12-man Butcher Battle Royal on Saturday, last eliminating Josh Alexander to secure a $100,000 charitable donation in Andy Williams’ name. Garcia broke down after the victory as Williams’ guitar and a “Rest in Peace Andy” sign were brought into the ring, while Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta embraced him afterward.

The moment worked because AEW tied Williams’ wrestling identity directly into the tribute. Williams held the company record for battle royal eliminations, so building the main event around that specialty gave the match a specific connection to him rather than simply attaching his name to a random card.

Garcia’s reaction also kept the segment from feeling overly produced. The money matters, the tribute matters and the image of Garcia kneeling beside Williams’ guitar gave the show an emotional ending without requiring anybody to manufacture one.

AEW Opens Collision With a 10-Bell Salute

Collision opened with Williams’ guitar, a flower wreath and his photograph displayed inside the ring before AEW held a 10-bell salute. Brody King, Colt Cabana, Justin Roberts, Penelope Ford, Jeff Jarrett, Kip Sabian, Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight and Nigel McGuinness were among those featured in remembrance segments throughout the night.

AEW has unfortunately become experienced at producing these kinds of broadcasts, but that experience has also shown the value of letting coworkers speak in their own voices. Williams’ reputation throughout the week has consistently centered on how people felt around him rather than simply what matches he wrestled.

That distinction carried the tribute. The Butcher was the character audiences knew, but the show was clearly about Andy Williams and the relationships he built throughout wrestling.

Jon Moxley Survives Speedball Mike Bailey

Jon Moxley defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a Continental Championship Eliminator Match after Bailey repeatedly attacked Moxley’s leg and nearly finished him with Ultima Weapon and a Shooting Star Press. Moxley eventually landed the Death Rider to prevent Bailey from earning a future championship match.

Bailey losing does not hurt him because the match established that he could force Moxley into uncomfortable territory. Moxley’s leg repeatedly failed him late, and Bailey came within fractions of a second of creating another championship problem.

For Moxley, the match reinforced the version of him AEW needs heading into the next phase of the title picture. He does not have to dominate everybody cleanly when the central idea is that surviving him remains incredibly difficult.

Queen Aminata Upsets Mina Shirakawa

Queen Aminata defeated Mina Shirakawa with an inside cradle while Mercedes Moné watched from commentary. Shirakawa had controlled significant portions of the match and repeatedly targeted Aminata’s leg before the sudden finish changed the direction of the story.

That is exactly the kind of result AEW’s women’s division can use more often. Aminata gains something meaningful without requiring Mina to be dismantled, while Mercedes now has another wrestler nearby who just proved she can steal a major victory.

The presence of Moné makes the result feel larger than a standalone Collision match. AEW can now decide whether Aminata’s win becomes the beginning of a real climb or simply the first warning shot.

Death Riders and The Dogs Beat Bang Bang Gang

PAC, Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors and David Finlay defeated Ace Austin, Colten Gunn, Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn after Connors speared Austin for the deciding fall. Jon Moxley joined commentary while Jay White spent much of the match verbally engaging with him from ringside.

The result keeps several overlapping AEW stories moving without forcing everything into separate segments. White’s attention on Moxley matters, while Kidd and Finlay continue functioning as natural chaos agents inside any match built around larger alliances.

AEW’s faction-heavy structure works best when those groups actually collide instead of living in isolated story bubbles. This match gave several of them a reason to occupy the same space while leaving multiple directions available afterward.

Tony Khan Says The Butcher Was Discussing an AEW Backstage Role

Tony Khan revealed before Collision that Williams had recently been discussing a potential backstage future with AEW. Khan said Williams understood he would not wrestle forever and had held meetings in August about ways he could contribute to the company outside the ring.

That detail makes the loss even harder because it shows Williams was already thinking about what came next. His relationship with AEW apparently was not ending with his in-ring career, and the company was interested in keeping his perspective around after wrestling became less realistic.

It also says something about how Williams was viewed internally. Backstage roles are built on trust, communication and understanding the locker room, which lines up closely with the qualities people have emphasized while remembering him this week.

Dominik Mysterio Says He Is Still Developing

Dominik Mysterio said in a recent interview that fans should remain patient with his development because he is still under 30 and continues learning as his career evolves. Dominik is in a strange position because he has been on WWE television long enough that it is easy to forget how young he still is. His career has already moved through family drama, Judgment Day, major WWE programs and now a central role in AAA.

The AAA run may ultimately be one of the most useful parts of that development. Working in a different environment gives him opportunities to carry shows and stories without everything being filtered through WWE’s normal structure.

AAA concludes TripleManía 34 tonight at Arena CDMX, with Dominik Mysterio defending the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano. The card also includes Flammer defending against La Catalina, Rey Fenix defending the Cruiserweight Championship in a four-way and Psycho Clown facing El Carnicero in a Mexican Street Fight.
