Chairshot Wrestling News Report (10/2/2026): Syx Gets The Hardys, Order 4 Implodes & MITB Fields Get Finalized

Syx challenges The Hardys at Bound For Glory, Order 4 implodes, BDE advances and WWE sets its final Money in the Bank qualifiers.
TNA moved several major pieces into place for Bound For Glory on Thursday night, but two stories stood above the rest.
Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw finally explained the purpose behind Syx before accepting The Hardys’ challenge for a Falls Count Anywhere Match, while Order 4 completely collapsed after Tasha Steelz ordered Special Agent 0 to attack Mustafa Ali. That implosion produced a four-way International Championship match for Bound For Glory involving Ali, Agent 0, Jason Hotch and John Skyler.
BDE also completed the six-man field for the vacant X-Division Championship, Leon Slater made quick work of Joe Alonzo with Nic Nemeth watching from commentary and Xia Brookside made sure Indi Hartwell did not leave San Antonio feeling good about her disqualification victory.
Friday now shifts the focus to WWE, where SmackDown will determine the final entrants in both Money in the Bank Ladder Matches.
It’s the Chairshot Wrestling News Report for October 2, 2026!
Syx Will Face The Hardys in Falls Count Anywhere Match
Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw entered the Impact Zone Thursday and explained why they have spent more than a month attacking members of the TNA roster. The newly signed team said they were in TNA to remove what they consider the rotten parts of the company, with Matt and Jeff Hardy sitting at the top of their list.
The Hardys interrupted and challenged Syx to stop attacking people from behind and fight them directly. Matt eventually proposed a No Disqualification, Falls Count Anywhere Match at Bound For Glory, which TNA made official for October 11.
The stipulation is an effective way to establish Syx immediately. Sawyer and Shaw have been presented as attackers rather than conventional wrestlers since their identities were revealed, so forcing their first major TNA program into an environment without traditional rules fits what the company has shown so far.
It also allows TNA to build the new team against opponents who do not need protecting from a chaotic match. The Hardys have spent decades working this kind of environment, and Syx gets an opportunity to establish its identity on the biggest show of TNA’s year rather than slowly climbing through the tag division.
Sawyer’s recent knee issue remains worth watching after he was removed from a Wrestling REVOLVER match scheduled for this weekend, but Thursday’s segment did not indicate a change to TNA’s plans. Bound For Glory is still more than a week away, and the match remains officially scheduled.
TNA Impact Results — October 1, 2026
Thursday Night Impact from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio continued the build toward Bound For Glory while also paying tribute to Benjamin “PAC” Satterley at the beginning of the broadcast.
- TNA X-Division Championship Qualifier – BDE def. Mr. Elegance
- Indi Hartwell def. Zoey Serrano via disqualification
- Mustafa Ali & Special Agent 0 def. The Great Hands
- Moose def. AJ Francis
- Leon Slater def. Joe Alonzo
- Cedric Alexander def. Ricky Sosa
BDE’s victory finalized the field that will determine the next X-Division Champion at Bound For Glory, while Ali and Agent 0 technically won their match before Order 4 disintegrated moments later.
Slater’s victory was considerably more decisive. With TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth sitting at commentary, Slater caught Alonzo with a boot almost immediately and followed with the Swanton 450 for the victory. Nemeth later stole Slater’s coat and headed up the ramp, leaving Slater to hold up the championships Nemeth had left behind.
The episode also set several matches for next Thursday, including The Hardys receiving their contractual rematch against Nic and Ryan Nemeth for the TNA World Tag Team Championship. M by Elegance will defend the Knockouts Television Championship against Elayna Black with the rest of The Elegance Brand barred from ringside.
Tasha Steelz Turns Special Agent 0 Against Mustafa Ali
Order 4 officially fell apart Thursday following Mustafa Ali and Special Agent 0’s victory over former faction members Jason Hotch and John Skyler.
Ali forced Skyler to submit, but the situation deteriorated almost immediately afterward. Ali continued attacking Skyler before Hotch intervened, leading Tasha Steelz to begin issuing instructions to Agent 0. Ali became angry when Agent 0 followed Steelz’s orders instead of his own, and Steelz responded by ordering the big man to attack Ali.
Agent 0 obeyed.
Steelz then ordered him to attack Mila Moore as well before standing over the fallen members of the group with Ali’s International Championship. By the end of the segment, the faction that Ali built around himself had effectively turned into several different enemies.
TNA subsequently made the consequences official for Bound For Glory. Ali will defend the International Championship against Agent 0, Hotch and Skyler in a four-way match.
That is a much stronger destination than trying to stretch the faction’s breakup through several singles programs. Every participant has a different reason to blame someone else for Order 4 falling apart, while Ali now enters the biggest show of the year having lost control of the organization he created.
BDE Completes the X-Division Championship Field
BDE defeated Mr. Elegance in the opening match to earn the final position in the six-way match for the vacant X-Division Championship at Bound For Glory.
The victory was BDE’s first singles win in TNA and puts him alongside K.C. Navarro, Fabian Aichner, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann and Ryan Nemeth in the championship match.
That is a significant jump for someone who entered TNA primarily through his online wrestling profile rather than a long résumé inside the company. TNA has gradually moved BDE from novelty appearances toward actual competition, and qualifying for a championship match at Bound For Glory is easily his most substantial opportunity so far.
The six-way field also gives TNA several different directions for the vacant championship. Swann and Alexander bring established X-Division credibility, Aichner offers a completely different physical style and BDE represents the least experienced but most unpredictable member of the field.
Whoever wins will inherit a championship that Leon Slater vacated through Option C to challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship.
Xia Brookside Leaves Indi Hartwell Down
Indi Hartwell technically defeated Zoey Serrano Thursday, but the result did little to improve her position heading toward Bound For Glory.
Serrano intentionally used a steel chair to cause the disqualification and continued attacking Hartwell after the bell. TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside, who had been on commentary for the match, then entered the ring and struck Hartwell with the championship.
TNA later announced that Hartwell was being evaluated following the attack.
The angle gives Brookside some needed aggression heading into her championship defense. Hartwell has spent much of the build positioned as the challenger chasing the champion, but Thursday allowed Brookside to demonstrate that she is willing to exploit an opponent who has already been hurt.
That matters because the Bound For Glory match works better if Brookside is defending her position rather than simply carrying the belt into Hartwell’s story. The championship should make her the target, but it also gives Brookside every reason to make sure Hartwell reaches Tampa in less than ideal condition.
Leon Slater Makes a Statement in Front of Nic Nemeth
Leon Slater needed only moments to defeat Joe Alonzo while TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth watched from commentary.
Alonzo spent considerably more time talking before the match than Slater needed to beat him. After the bell, Slater connected with a boot and quickly followed with the Swanton 450 to end the match before Nemeth could see much of anything from his Bound For Glory challenger.
Nemeth attempted to get under Slater’s skin afterward by taking his coat and walking away with it. Slater responded by picking up the championships Nemeth had left at ringside and holding them above his head.
The segment did not need another physical confrontation. TNA has already prohibited Nemeth and Slater from touching one another before Bound For Glory, with serious consequences attached if either man violates the restriction.
Instead, the company continues using the contrast between them. Nemeth is trying to demonstrate that Slater is not ready for the responsibility attached to becoming world champion, while Slater keeps answering through what happens once the bell rings.
Mickie James Is Coming to Bound For Glory
TNA announced Thursday that Hall of Famer Mickie James will appear at Bound For Glory on October 11 in Tampa.
No specific role was announced for James, leaving open whether the appearance will connect to the Knockouts division or simply serve as a special appearance on TNA’s biggest event of the year. James remains closely associated with the company after multiple runs and five Knockouts World Championship reigns.
She was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2025 and returned to TNA programming earlier this year, including a match at Rebellion.
TNA does not need to force James into an existing championship program simply because she will be in Tampa. Her history with the Knockouts division makes her presence meaningful on its own, and the company can determine whether the appearance needs to become something larger once the show arrives.
AAA Announces Houston Event for November
AAA announced Thursday that it will hold a live event on November 27 at 713 Music Hall in Houston, continuing the promotion’s increased United States presence under its relationship with WWE.
No matches were announced with the initial event reveal. The announcement comes after another WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event was taped last weekend in Chicago and follows months of AAA talent appearing across WWE programming.
The Houston date is another indication that the partnership is not being limited to occasional crossover specials. AAA championships and wrestlers are appearing regularly on WWE television, while standalone AAA events in American markets give the promotion another way to expand beyond Mexico without simply becoming an extension of Raw, SmackDown or NXT.
The challenge remains maintaining AAA’s own identity while taking advantage of WWE’s reach. More U.S. events can help accomplish that if they are presented as AAA shows rather than WWE cards with lucha branding attached.
WWE SmackDown Preview — October 2, 2026
SmackDown heads to Ball Arena in Denver tonight with the final two Money in the Bank Ladder Match positions scheduled to be decided.
Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano will compete for the final position in the men’s match, while Tatum Paxley, Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae will determine the final entrant in the women’s field.
- Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier – Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens vs. Johnny Gargano
- Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier – Tatum Paxley vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae
- Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
The men’s qualifier carries considerably more story baggage than simply filling the sixth spot. Cody remains entangled with Randy Orton, while Owens and Gargano have both remained around Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship picture.
Cody entering Money in the Bank would give him another direct path back toward the championship, but Owens presents the same problem for Sami from a completely different direction. Gargano is the outsider based on WWE’s current hierarchy, which also makes him the participant with the most to gain from an upset.
The women’s qualifier similarly offers three very different possibilities. Tiffany is the most established of the three at the main-event level, while Tatum has been given increasing opportunities since moving upward and Candice received her place in the qualifier through Sami Zayn’s involvement in last week’s show.
Giulia and Blake Monroe will also finally attempt to have the singles match WWE has tried to present more than once. Their previous scheduled meetings failed to properly begin, and last week’s confrontation ended with Giulia slapping Monroe after Lash Legend defeated Giulia and Charlotte Flair to qualify for Money in the Bank.
With Money in the Bank arriving October 10, Friday represents WWE’s last opportunity to complete both Ladder Match fields before the final week of television.
Syx went from mysterious attackers to a team with its first major pay-per-view match. Order 4 finally broke beyond repair. BDE earned the biggest opportunity of his TNA run, while Slater and Brookside both advanced their championship programs without requiring another long in-ring confrontation.
Friday, two Money in the Bank spots remain. By the end of SmackDown, WWE should finally know exactly who will be climbing ladders in New Orleans.
