Queen Aminata wins AEW gold, Ospreay gets his Full Gear challenger, Crown Jewel changes venues, and TNA prepares two title defenses.

Queen Aminata finally captured her first AEW championship Wednesday, defeating Persephone in the main event of Fright Night Dynamite to become the new TBS Champion. The victory highlighted a busy evening in St. Louis that also established Will Ospreay’s next challenger, saw the Motor City Machine Guns take control of their series against FTR, and brought another violent confrontation between The Cut and the Death Riders.

WWE also has a significant development to address, with Crown Jewel being moved to a different venue in Riyadh less than two weeks before the November 7 event. The announcement comes amid ongoing concerns about regional security and international travel, although the company has not announced any change to the event date or host city.

Elsewhere, Stephanie Vaquer’s return remains uncertain following her withdrawal from Monday’s Raw, TNA has announced a loaded Thursday night lineup, and CMLL and New Japan Pro-Wrestling have added several major names to their upcoming Lucha Kingdom event.

It’s the Chairshot Wrestling News Report for October 29, 2026!

Queen Aminata Captures First AEW Championship in Fright Night Main Event

Queen Aminata achieved a major career milestone Wednesday when she defeated Persephone to win the AEW TBS Championship in the main event of Fright Night Dynamite. The victory came despite repeated interference from Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and ended the broadcast with Aminata celebrating alongside members of the AEW women’s locker room.

Aminata entered the match with a difficult challenge against Persephone, who had already established herself as a formidable champion while also holding the CMLL World Women’s Championship. Persephone repeatedly targeted Aminata’s neck, including the surgically repaired area, forcing the challenger to withstand considerable punishment before building sustained offense.

Baker’s presence at ringside made the situation even more difficult. She distracted Aminata during an offensive sequence and later struck her with the TBS Championship while referee Aubrey Edwards was occupied with Persephone. The interference appeared to give the champion a decisive advantage, but Aminata survived the subsequent moonsault and continued fighting.

The finish came when Aminata escaped a crucifix bomb attempt and connected with the Queen’s Crown headbutt. With Persephone stunned near the ropes, Aminata followed with Off With Her Head to secure the pinfall and become the new champion.

The championship victory represents an important breakthrough for a wrestler who has spent considerable time establishing herself within AEW’s women’s division. Aminata’s physical offense and resilient presentation have helped her develop a recognizable identity, and Wednesday’s main event gave her an opportunity to convert that momentum into a championship accomplishment.

The celebration also provided a welcome contrast to the hostility surrounding much of the division’s current programming. Wrestlers emerged from the backstage area to recognize Aminata’s achievement, while confetti and pyro accompanied the conclusion of the broadcast.

For Persephone, the defeat ends her TBS Championship reign but does not erase her status as CMLL World Women’s Champion. Baker’s involvement also leaves open the possibility of additional conflict involving the former champion and Aminata, particularly given the controversial tactics employed throughout the match.

The victory comes at an especially important time for AEW, with Blood & Guts approaching on November 4 and Full Gear scheduled for November 14. Aminata now enters that period as a champion, and the company has an opportunity to establish the direction of her reign during some of its most prominent upcoming programming.

AEW Fright Night Dynamite Results — October 28, 2026

AEW presented Fright Night Dynamite from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, featuring six matches and multiple developments ahead of Blood & Guts and Full Gear. Along with Queen Aminata’s championship victory, the evening established an AEW World Championship match for Full Gear, moved the FTR-Motor City Machine Guns series closer to its conclusion, and escalated the faction warfare involving The Cut and the Death Riders.

Results:

  • The Cut (Jay White & David Finlay) def. Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Daniel Garcia).
  • Kyle Fletcher def. Jungle Jack Perry.
  • Best-of-Five Series, Match Three — Motor City Machine Guns def. FTR. Motor City Machine Guns lead the series 2–1.
  • Marina Shafir def. Rachel Armstrong.
  • TNT Championship — Darby Allin def. Josh Alexander to retain the championship.
  • TBS Championship — Queen Aminata def. Persephone to win the championship.

The opening encounter saw Jay White and David Finlay defeat Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia after interference from Clark Connors created an opportunity for White to deliver the Blade Runner. The victory continued establishing The Cut as a major threat to the Death Riders, although the immediate aftermath saw both factions become involved in a chaotic ringside confrontation. Claudio Castagnoli initially helped the Death Riders regain control, but the problems between the groups were far from settled.

Moxley responded by challenging The Cut to Anarchy in the Arena at Full Gear, introducing another major stipulation into AEW’s November plans. The rivalry has expanded rapidly since White assembled his new faction, and the developing conflict now involves multiple established performers with extensive histories in faction-based wrestling.

The situation became considerably more violent later in the broadcast. Following Marina Shafir’s submission victory over Rachel Armstrong, Shafir confronted AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné, leading to a tense exchange and physical confrontation. While that situation unfolded, members of The Cut attacked Moxley at the commentary desk and drew the Death Riders into another confrontation.

Castagnoli attempted to fight through the opposition, repeatedly throwing attackers aside and initially resisting their use of weapons. The Cut eventually overwhelmed him, however, striking him repeatedly before White delivered a Blade Runner onto the exposed concrete floor. The attack left Castagnoli in serious trouble within the storyline and provided another example of The Cut’s willingness to use its numerical advantage.

The Motor City Machine Guns gained the upper hand in their best-of-five series against FTR, winning the third encounter to take a 2–1 lead. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin survived an extended exchange of near falls and countered several of FTR’s signature combinations before Shelley caught Dax Harwood in a decisive pinning combination. The victory puts the Machine Guns one win away from taking the series.

FTR initially appeared willing to acknowledge the result, accepting the Machine Guns’ offer of handshakes following the match. That moment quickly deteriorated when Stokely Hathaway threw powder into the winners’ faces, allowing Harwood and Cash Wheeler to attack. Wheeler followed with a stomp from the top rope onto Shelley’s trapped knee, adding a potentially important injury angle to the remaining series matches.

Kyle Fletcher also secured a significant singles victory over Jungle Jack Perry and immediately made his championship intentions clear. Fletcher declared that he wanted another opportunity against Will Ospreay, and AEW subsequently made their World Championship match official for Full Gear. The announcement creates one of the most important matches on the November 14 card, giving Fletcher an opportunity to dethrone his former ally.

The Don Callis Family’s influence extended into the TNT Championship match, where Josh Alexander attempted to take the title from Darby Allin. Alexander targeted Allin’s limbs throughout the encounter and delivered a particularly punishing Tombstone Piledriver through chairs at ringside. Allin survived the offense and eventually countered an ankle lock into a pinning combination to retain his championship.

Steven Borden also became involved when RPG Vice attempted to interfere, helping neutralize members of the Don Callis Family at ringside. Afterward, Borden addressed the significance of participating in Blood & Guts, while Allin made it clear that he was interested in fighting rather than continuing another verbal exchange.

Swerve Strickland added another Full Gear development by demanding a Texas Death Match, using an attack involving Bandido to emphasize his intentions. The challenge adds another potentially violent attraction to a card already featuring the developing Anarchy in the Arena situation and Ospreay’s World Championship defense.

Wednesday’s Dynamite established several major directions in a single broadcast. Aminata begins her first TBS Championship reign, Fletcher has a confirmed World Championship opportunity, the Motor City Machine Guns are one victory from winning their series, and the conflict between The Cut and Death Riders has escalated dramatically. With Blood & Guts just one week away, AEW has positioned several rivalries to continue through a particularly important stretch of programming.

WWE Crown Jewel Changes Venues but Remains Scheduled for Riyadh

WWE Crown Jewel will take place at a different venue than originally announced, with Riyadh Season confirming Wednesday that the November 7 premium live event is being relocated within Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The event had been scheduled for Riyadh Season Stadium, which hosted the Royal Rumble earlier this year. However, organizers announced that the existing location would no longer be used and that ticket holders would receive refunds ahead of a new ticket sale.

Riyadh Season indicated that the replacement venue would be announced within 48 hours, allowing attendees to make new arrangements. Fightful Select subsequently reported that Crown Jewel was still expected to remain in Riyadh rather than being moved to another city or country.

The announcement comes amid ongoing concerns about security in the region, including questions surrounding international air travel. Those circumstances have generated speculation about the event’s status, although organizers did not provide a specific explanation for the venue change or establish that it was related to security concerns.

The distinction is important because changing venues does not necessarily indicate that WWE is reconsidering the event itself. International premium live events involve significant production and logistical commitments, and the decision to retain Riyadh suggests that organizers are attempting to preserve the established schedule.

Nevertheless, the change creates immediate complications for ticket holders. Fans who already purchased seats must wait for details about the new venue before determining whether they can obtain comparable accommodations, while those traveling internationally may need to reconsider transportation plans within the city.

The event’s announced championship programs remain in place, including the scheduled Champion vs. Champion encounter between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. Liv Morgan and Chelsea Green are also slated to meet in the women’s Crown Jewel Championship match, while Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are scheduled for a Last Man Standing Match.

At present, WWE has not announced a postponement or cancellation. The event remains scheduled for November 7, with additional venue and ticketing information expected from organizers.

Stephanie Vaquer Reportedly Facing Indefinite Absence Following Raw Withdrawal

Stephanie Vaquer’s status remains uncertain following her removal from Monday Night Raw, with new reports suggesting there may not be an established timetable for her return.

Vaquer was originally scheduled to face Becky Lynch in a No. 1 contender’s match for the Women’s World Championship. WWE General Manager Adam Pearce announced at the start of Raw that Vaquer had not been medically cleared, forcing the company to change its plans and give Lynch an immediate championship opportunity against Liv Morgan.

PWInsider subsequently reported that Vaquer’s absence was believed to be illness-related, while a separate report from False Finish described her status as indefinite. Neither report establishes a confirmed return date, and WWE has not publicly provided a detailed medical explanation.

The development is particularly frustrating given Vaquer’s interrupted schedule throughout 2026. She spent an extended period away from competition earlier in the year, returned during the summer, and had only recently resumed a more regular role before the latest setback.

Her scheduled match with Lynch represented another opportunity to move back into the championship picture. Instead, Lynch challenged Morgan directly and won by disqualification following interference from The Judgment Day, leaving Morgan champion and creating another unresolved title situation.

An indefinite designation should not automatically be interpreted as a long-term absence. It primarily means that a definite return date has not been established, and the available reporting does not provide enough information to determine how much time Vaquer might miss.

For WWE, the situation complicates an already crowded women’s championship picture involving Morgan, Lynch and Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton. Vaquer remains a potential factor when she is cleared, but the company may need to proceed without her for the immediate future.

TNA Impact Preview — October 29, 2026

TNA Wrestling returns to AMC Thursday with two championship defenses and a special stipulation match involving The Hardys and syX. The announced lineup provides several important opportunities for the company to develop its championship programs following Bound For Glory.

Announced Matches:

  • TNA X-Division Championship — Amazing Red (c) vs. Cedric Alexander.
  • TNA Knockouts Television Championship — M by Elegance (c) vs. Jada Stone.
  • Slaughterhouse syX Match — The Hardys vs. syX.
  • John Skyler vs. AJ Francis.
  • Elijah vs. Ryan Nemeth.

The X-Division Championship match between Amazing Red and Cedric Alexander brings together two highly accomplished competitors whose styles should produce a strong television encounter. Alexander has extensive experience in matches that emphasize athleticism and technical wrestling, while Red’s championship reign provides another important stage for his return to prominence.

M by Elegance will defend the Knockouts Television Championship against Jada Stone, continuing the promotion’s efforts to establish the title as an important part of its women’s division. Stone has an opportunity to secure a significant singles accomplishment, while the champion will attempt to maintain her position within the Elegance Brand.

The Hardys will enter the unusual environment of a Slaughterhouse syX Match against Sam Shaw and Joseph Sawyer. The teams previously met at Bound For Glory, where syX prevailed with assistance from Erick Redbeard. Thursday’s encounter places Matt and Jeff Hardy in a match controlled by their opponents’ preferred stipulation, creating another opportunity for the rivalry to become more violent.

John Skyler will face AJ Francis following their confrontation last week, with Mila Moore accompanying Skyler and Expressions in Francis’ corner. Elijah will also meet Ryan Nemeth as his issues with Nic Nemeth continue, giving the broadcast another personal rivalry alongside its championship attractions.

TNA World Champion Leon Slater is also advertised to appear. With several potential challengers competing for position following the promotion’s recent championship developments, his presence could establish another direction for the company’s main event picture.

NJPW and CMLL Add Major Matches to Lucha Kingdom

New Japan Pro-Wrestling and CMLL have announced additional matches for Lucha Kingdom, their upcoming collaborative event scheduled for November 16 at Arena México.

One of the most significant additions will see Místico and Último Guerrero team against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji and Hirooki Goto. The match places two prominent CMLL stars opposite an established NJPW veteran and one of the Japanese promotion’s leading champions.

The matchup also carries historical significance for Goto, who has not competed in Mexico since 2011. His return provides another international dimension to a show built around the long-standing relationship between Japanese professional wrestling and lucha libre.

Konosuke Takeshita has also been announced for a singles match against Bárbaro Cavernario. Takeshita’s combination of power, athleticism and intensity should provide an interesting contrast with Cavernario’s unconventional offense and aggressive approach.

Other announced attractions include Shota Umino against Soberano Jr., an IWGP Women’s Championship match involving Syuri and Kira, and a three-way NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship encounter. The lineup combines established championship stakes with several matches specifically designed to showcase contrasting promotional styles.

The event arrives during an especially active period of cooperation between Japanese and Mexican wrestling organizations. NJPW’s ongoing Super Junior Tag League features Místico alongside Masatora Yasuda, while CMLL continues hosting prominent international wrestlers through its Arena México programming.

Lucha Kingdom represents another opportunity to develop those relationships through a full collaborative event rather than a handful of guest appearances. With several major championships and recognizable performers involved, the November 16 show is positioned as an important date on the international wrestling calendar.

Ric Flair Provides Health Update Following Recent Fall

Ric Flair has provided an encouraging update on his health after suffering a fall in Tampa, Florida, although the wrestling legend indicated that another medical procedure remains necessary.

Flair recently received medical attention following the incident, which also generated concerns about a reported blood clot. His latest comments suggest he is optimistic about his recovery and expects to be in better condition following another surgery.

The update follows a difficult stretch for the WWE Hall of Famer, whose health has attracted attention on several occasions in recent years. Flair has continued making public appearances and remaining connected to the wrestling industry, but his medical history makes any new health concerns particularly significant.

While Flair expressed confidence about his recovery, the specifics of the upcoming procedure and a definitive recovery timetable have not been publicly established in the available reporting. His optimism is encouraging, but the outcome will ultimately depend on the medical evaluation and treatment he receives.

Flair remains one of professional wrestling’s most recognizable personalities, and his continued connection to the industry ensures that developments involving his health receive considerable attention. For now, his latest update is a positive development following the concerns generated by last weekend’s fall.
