Jeff Hardy is sidelined after TNA’s Slaughterhouse match, The Nemeths retain their titles, WWE prepares for Crown Jewel, and MLW crowns a contender.
TNA Wrestling delivered a troubling update on Jeff Hardy during Thursday’s Impact, announcing that the former World Champion is being held out of action indefinitely following last week’s Slaughterhouse syX Match. His absence has already changed the direction of the rivalry, with Matt Hardy and Moose joining forces to challenge syX at Destination X.
The episode also featured an important TNA World Tag Team Championship defense, with Nic and Ryan Nemeth surviving the challenge of TNA World Champion Leon Slater and X-Division Champion Amazing Red. Eddie Edwards maintained his position within The System by defeating Bear Bronson, while The Righteous revealed Xia Brookside as their newest member in an unexpected betrayal.
WWE, meanwhile, is approaching Saturday’s Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn preparing for a major Champion vs. Champion encounter. Friday’s SmackDown will also feature CM Punk against Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred Match, continuing their increasingly hostile rivalry.
Outside the major American promotions, MLW delivered an important World Championship defense and a dramatic faction breakup during Fusion. AEW also has fresh developments regarding the availability of its Blood & Guts competitors and the rapidly approaching Full Gear pay-per-view.
It’s the Chairshot Wrestling News Report for November 6, 2026!
Jeff Hardy Sidelined Indefinitely as Matt Hardy and Moose Target syX
Jeff Hardy’s participation in TNA Wrestling has been placed on hold following the violent Slaughterhouse syX Match that concluded last week’s Impact.
During Thursday’s broadcast, TNA announced that Hardy was being held out of action indefinitely because of the severity of the injuries sustained during his encounter with Samuel Shaw and Joseph Sawyer. The company presented the information as part of its weekly injury report, adding another consequence to a rivalry that has repeatedly moved beyond conventional wrestling matches.
The announcement followed a particularly brutal finish to the Slaughterhouse encounter. The Hardys were separated during the match, allowing syX to isolate Jeff and subject him to an extended attack involving multiple weapons.
The closing sequence saw Jeff trapped beneath a trash can while his opponents struck it with an axe, leading to a knockout victory for syX. Thursday’s injury announcement continued the storyline established by that attack, leaving the younger Hardy unavailable for immediate competition.
TNA has not publicly established a return date, and the announcement does not independently confirm the extent of any legitimate medical injury. Given Jeff’s history of physically demanding matches, the situation is worth following carefully without assuming that the television injury report represents a confirmed long-term absence.
Matt Hardy responded to the situation by making it clear that he intends to continue pursuing syX. However, he will not be doing so alone.
Moose opened Thursday’s Impact by confronting Shaw and Sawyer, seeking revenge for their previous attacks. The duo immediately assaulted him, but Matt entered the ring with a steel pipe and helped turn the confrontation in their favor.
The alliance brings together two accomplished wrestlers with very different backgrounds. Hardy has spent decades competing in some of professional wrestling’s most memorable tag team rivalries, while Moose has established himself as one of TNA’s most physically imposing performers.
Their shared opposition to syX provides a logical foundation for the partnership. Both have suffered consequences from the group’s attacks, and neither appears willing to allow those confrontations to go unanswered.
Later in the broadcast, Hardy announced that he and Moose would face syX at Destination X on November 15 in Edmonton, Alberta.
The match provides an important opportunity for TNA to continue the rivalry without requiring Jeff to return immediately. It also gives Moose a prominent role in a storyline that has increasingly emphasized violence and psychological intimidation.
For syX, the challenge represents another opportunity to establish its credibility against recognizable opponents. The group has already defeated The Hardys at Bound For Glory and in the Slaughterhouse, making its success against established talent an important part of its presentation.
The question now is whether Matt Hardy and Moose can find a way to succeed where The Hardys have repeatedly struggled. Their combined experience and physical presence could provide a different challenge, but Shaw and Sawyer have demonstrated that they are particularly dangerous when they can dictate the conditions of a confrontation.
Jeff Hardy’s absence gives the storyline considerably greater stakes heading into Destination X. Regardless of whether the situation leads to a lengthy absence or a relatively quick return, TNA has established a clear reason for Matt and Moose to pursue revenge.
TNA Impact Results — November 5, 2026
TNA presented Thursday Night Impact from the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, Alabama, featuring a TNA World Tag Team Championship defense, an important confrontation within The System and several major developments heading toward Destination X.
Results:
- Frankie Kazarian & Avery Styles def. Hunter James & Alexander Lev.
- Eddie Edwards def. Bear Bronson.
- Shotzi Blackheart & Allie def. Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz).
- TNA World Tag Team Championship — The Nemeth Brothers (Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth) def. Leon Slater & Amazing Red to retain the championship.
The main event featured an unusual Champions Challenge, with TNA World Champion Leon Slater and X-Division Champion Amazing Red attempting to capture the World Tag Team Championship from The Nemeth Brothers. The challengers used their speed and athleticism to create problems for Nic and Ryan throughout the encounter, repeatedly forcing the champions to retreat and reconsider their approach.
Slater and Red threatened to end the match on several occasions, including a sequence in which Red appeared to have Nic pinned while the referee was temporarily incapacitated. The champions capitalized on that confusion, with Ryan using a championship belt against the challengers before Nic finished Red with the Danger Zone. The victory allowed the brothers to retain their titles, although the circumstances again demonstrated their willingness to exploit every available advantage.
Elijah entered the ring following the match and attempted to confront Nic with his guitar, continuing their personal rivalry. Nic escaped before Elijah could connect, leaving another unresolved issue for the champions as they approach Destination X.
Trey Miguel joined commentary for the championship encounter, keeping a close eye on Leon Slater ahead of their upcoming TNA World Championship match. His presence reinforced the fact that Slater’s tag team opportunity was only one part of a busy period for the young champion.
Eddie Edwards defeated Bear Bronson in an important match for control of The System. Bronson had grown increasingly frustrated with Edwards’ leadership and believed the faction needed a more aggressive direction. The remaining members agreed to stay backstage, allowing the two men to settle their differences without interference.
The match featured extended physical exchanges, with Bronson using his power to overwhelm Edwards and the veteran responding through strikes and technical counters. Edwards eventually connected with the Boston Knee Party to secure the victory, maintaining his position as the group’s leader.
The aftermath offered a more encouraging development for The System. Bronson accepted the result, and Cedric Alexander and Brian Myers joined the competitors for a handshake, suggesting the faction may be able to move forward without an immediate breakup. Whether Bronson’s frustrations are permanently resolved remains another question, but Thursday’s result established Edwards as the group’s leader.
Frankie Kazarian and Avery Styles also enjoyed a successful tag team debut, defeating Hunter James and Alexander Lev. Styles delivered the decisive Spiral Tap, giving the partnership a victory in its first appearance together. Mustafa Ali watched the encounter from commentary and confronted the winners afterward, only for Kazarian to strike him before the situation could escalate further.
The Knockouts tag team division featured Shotzi Blackheart and Allie defeating the reunited Fire ‘N Flava. Shotzi secured the victory with a top-rope senton, but Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz attacked their opponents afterward, demonstrating that their reunion does not signal a change in their aggressive approach.
The evening’s biggest surprise came during Harley Hudson’s planned initiation into The Righteous. Vincent and Dutch appeared prepared to welcome Hudson, who had accepted their invitation after weeks of recruitment. However, the ceremony took a sudden turn when Xia Brookside attacked Hudson from behind and was introduced as the group’s newest member.
The betrayal leaves Hudson isolated after believing she had finally found allies. The episode closed her story with another unexpected development when Taryn Terrell appeared to welcome her into the Dollhouse, potentially providing a new direction for the rejected recruit.
The Elegance Brand’s internal problems also continued. M by Elegance attempted to reconcile with Heather by Elegance, but Elayna Black questioned the sincerity of the apology. Heather subsequently indicated that she wanted a match against Black, suggesting the situation remains far from settled.
Elsewhere, Mila Moore ended her relationship with John Skyler, while the tensions between TNA Knockouts World Champion Indi Hartwell and Director of Operations Daria Rae continued. Brian Johnson’s involvement as an outside monitor created another complication in the developing authority storyline.
Thursday’s Impact also established two matches for next week’s broadcast. Mustafa Ali will face Frankie Kazarian in singles competition, while Moose will meet Samuel Shaw before their tag team encounter at Destination X.
The episode leaves TNA with several important directions heading into November 15. The Nemeth Brothers remain champions through questionable tactics, Edwards has maintained control of The System, and The Righteous has added an unexpected new member. Jeff Hardy’s absence and the developing alliance between Matt Hardy and Moose provide another significant storyline for the company’s upcoming major event.
WWE Crown Jewel Preview — November 7, 2026
WWE returns to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday for Crown Jewel, featuring two Champion vs. Champion encounters, a Last Man Standing Match and an important World Tag Team Championship defense.
The event arrives after several weeks of increasingly personal rivalries, with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn occupying the most prominent championship position.
Announced Matches:
- Men’s Crown Jewel Championship — World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn.
- Women’s Crown Jewel Championship — WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green vs. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
- Last Man Standing Match — Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton.
- World Tag Team Championship — Bron Breakker & Austin Theory (c) vs. Penta & Je’Von Evans.
The encounter between Reigns and Zayn carries substantial personal history. Their relationship has evolved from Zayn’s involvement with The Bloodline into a rivalry between two world champions who increasingly question one another’s legitimacy and accomplishments.
Zayn has become more openly confrontational during recent television appearances, criticizing established WWE stars for receiving recognition he believes should belong to him. His successful championship defenses against Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams have allowed him to maintain his position, but the methods used in those victories have reinforced his increasingly antagonistic personality.
Monday’s Raw delivered another important development when Zayn attacked Reigns with a Helluva Kick following a confrontation involving The Bloodline and The 946. The attack gave Zayn an opportunity to establish that he does not intend to approach Crown Jewel as a subordinate seeking Reigns’ approval.
The women’s Champion vs. Champion encounter presents a different dynamic. Chelsea Green has established herself as a surprisingly resilient WWE Women’s Champion, while Liv Morgan has relied heavily on The Judgment Day to maintain control of the Women’s World Championship.
Morgan gained momentum by pinning Green during Monday’s six-woman tag team match, but their singles encounter presents a different challenge for both competitors. Tiffany Stratton’s Money in the Bank contract also remains an unresolved threat, particularly after several recent situations in which she approached a potential cash-in without officially completing the process.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will attempt to settle their increasingly hostile rivalry in a Last Man Standing Match. Their history as former allies has become central to the confrontation, with Orton repeatedly invoking Rhodes’ relationship with his father, Dusty Rhodes.
The stipulation eliminates the possibility of a conventional pinfall or submission victory, requiring one competitor to leave the other unable to answer a ten-count. Given the personal nature of their rivalry, the match could become one of the event’s most physical encounters.
The World Tag Team Championship match gives Penta and Je’Von Evans another opportunity to overcome The Vision. Bron Breakker and Austin Theory have repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to take advantage of outside involvement and numerical superiority, creating an important challenge for the contenders.
Crown Jewel is scheduled to begin at noon ET on Saturday, streaming through ESPN Unlimited in the United States and Netflix internationally. With several major championship situations involved, the outcomes could significantly influence WWE’s direction heading toward Survivor Series and the final weeks of 2026.
CM Punk and Kevin Owens Prepare for No Holds Barred SmackDown Main Event
Friday’s SmackDown will feature CM Punk against Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred Match, continuing a rivalry that became considerably more hostile during Wednesday’s special edition of NXT.
Owens interfered in Punk’s NXT Championship challenge against Grayson Waller, distracting the challenger and allowing Waller to secure a rollup victory. The interference prevented Punk from capturing the championship and added another reason for the two veterans to settle their differences.
Their issues have developed across multiple WWE programs, with Owens repeatedly involving himself in Punk’s matches and confrontations. Punk, meanwhile, has made it clear that he intends to respond directly rather than allow the situation to continue without consequences.
The No Holds Barred stipulation removes the traditional disqualification restrictions, creating opportunities for both competitors to use weapons and fight beyond the confines of the ring. Their history and increasingly aggressive behavior make the stipulation a natural progression of the rivalry.
Friday’s SmackDown was recorded earlier in the week at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, following Monday’s Raw. Although results from the taping have circulated online, the match’s outcome will remain out of this report until the episode airs.
The broadcast will also feature additional developments involving the company’s championship programs ahead of Crown Jewel. Sami Zayn and Chelsea Green are among the important figures expected to appear, with both preparing for major matches on Saturday.
Another advertised encounter features WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Michin and B-Fab against Fatal Influence, while Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled to face Tama Tonga. Damian Priest and Nathan Frazer are also part of the lineup.
For Punk and Owens, Friday offers an opportunity to settle a rivalry that has repeatedly disrupted other championship situations. The question is whether the No Holds Barred environment will finally produce a decisive conclusion or create another reason for the hostility to continue.
AEW Full Gear Takes Shape Following Blood & Guts
AEW’s Full Gear card continues developing following Wednesday’s Blood & Guts event, with several championship programs and major faction conflicts now positioned for the November 14 pay-per-view in Phoenix, Arizona.
The most prominent championship encounter features AEW World Champion Will Ospreay defending against Kyle Fletcher. The Don Callis Family gained momentum during Blood & Guts when Fletcher threatened Ospreay with a screwdriver, forcing Adam Copeland to surrender on behalf of his team.
Although Copeland’s decision prevented further punishment, it also gave Fletcher an important victory before his upcoming championship opportunity. The situation creates additional tension surrounding Ospreay’s preparation, particularly because the champion must recover from a physically demanding match before facing his former ally.
The AEW World Tag Team Championship will also be defended when The Young Bucks face Mark Davis and Jake Doyle. Both teams participated on opposing sides during Blood & Guts, giving their championship encounter another layer of hostility.
Mercedes Moné is scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Marina Shafir, continuing a rivalry that has become increasingly physical. Their confrontation has included repeated attacks and an ongoing struggle to establish control, creating an important singles attraction for Full Gear.
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match features Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor defending against Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron. All four competitors cooperated during the women’s Blood & Guts victory, but their upcoming championship encounter means the temporary alliance will soon give way to direct competition.
The AEW World Trios Championship will also be contested in a Texas Death Match, with Hangman Page, Brody King and Bandido facing Swerve Strickland and The New Level. The stipulation adds another particularly physical match to an event already featuring the consequences of Blood & Guts.
Meanwhile, the developing conflict between The Death Riders, The Conglomeration and The Cut is expected to produce an Anarchy in the Arena encounter. Jon Moxley’s group has pursued revenge following repeated attacks by Jay White’s faction, creating another major multi-person confrontation.
AEW has approximately one week remaining to complete its final preparations for Full Gear. With multiple championship matches and major stipulations already established, the event has several important stories that could influence the promotion’s direction through the remainder of 2026.
Blood & Guts Injury Update Brings Encouraging News
AEW received encouraging news following Wednesday’s Blood & Guts event, with Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reporting that the participants emerged without significant injuries despite the unusually violent nature of both matches.
The event featured two twelve-person cage matches involving numerous weapons, extended periods of physical punishment and several high-risk sequences. Both encounters pushed the competitors through particularly demanding performances, creating understandable concern about their condition afterward.
According to Alvarez, the most notable concern involved Darby Allin, whose knee struck his face during a Michinoku Driver sequence. There was initial concern about potential dental damage, but the wrestler was reportedly fine following evaluation.
The update is especially important because several Blood & Guts participants have prominent matches scheduled for Full Gear. Will Ospreay must defend the AEW World Championship against Kyle Fletcher, while multiple members of the Don Callis Family are involved in championship programs of their own.
However, the physical demands of the event have already influenced some wrestlers’ schedules. AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor postponed their appearance for Pro Wrestling EVE’s Elite Encounters II event in Wolverhampton, England.
The promotion explained that the decision was mutually agreed upon, allowing both wrestlers additional time to recover and prepare for their upcoming Full Gear championship defense. The postponement does not necessarily indicate a newly diagnosed injury, but it demonstrates the practical consequences of participating in such an intense match.
For AEW, the early reports are positive. A violent event involving twenty-four competitors has apparently avoided serious injuries, allowing the company to continue preparing for Full Gear without immediate major changes to its announced lineup.
Killer Kross Retains MLW World Championship as the Skyscrapers Implode
Major League Wrestling delivered an important championship development during Thursday’s Fusion when Killer Kross successfully defended the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Donovan Dijak.
The encounter carried significant implications for Saturday Night SuperFight, where Josh Bishop is scheduled to challenge for the championship. Had Dijak captured the title, the upcoming match would have featured a confrontation between the two members of the Skyscrapers.
Dijak attempted to control the championship encounter through his considerable size and physical offense, repeatedly targeting Kross while using the surrounding environment to create advantages. The champion responded with his own aggressive offense, surviving several significant attacks before regaining control.
The match’s decisive sequence involved a referee being inadvertently struck by Kross, creating an opening for Dijak to employ illegal tactics. Dijak attempted to summon Bishop for additional assistance, but his partner refused to appear.
The delay allowed Kross to recover and apply the Kross Jacket, forcing Dijak to submit and successfully retaining the championship.
The situation became even more significant after the match when Bishop finally entered the ring. Dijak angrily confronted his partner for failing to assist him, blaming Bishop for the championship defeat.
Rather than accepting the criticism, Bishop attacked Dijak and delivered Exit 187 before putting him through a table. The confrontation brought their increasingly strained partnership to an abrupt end, leaving the Skyscrapers fractured ahead of Saturday’s event.
The development creates a different championship situation for Kross. Instead of defending against an established partnership attempting to bring the title into its faction, he now faces a challenger determined to establish himself independently.
Kross and Bishop are scheduled to meet in a Last Man Standing Match at Saturday Night SuperFight in Chicago, giving the championship encounter a stipulation that emphasizes physical endurance and the ability to survive punishment.
The event will also feature international lucha libre competition, including Titán, Último Guerrero and Templario. Their involvement highlights MLW’s continued relationships with performers from CMLL and other international organizations.
Thursday’s Fusion established several important consequences for Saturday, but the breakup of the Skyscrapers may prove the most significant development. Bishop enters his championship opportunity without the alliance that helped establish his position, while Dijak must respond to a betrayal that could create another major rivalry.
