The WWE Intercontinental Championship Is Doomed On Roman Reigns
Intercontinental Title Run
My dying hope is that Reigns’ title run allows for matches against the above mentioned, and even allows for a loss against one of the above. However, his past US title reign does not give me much confidence that this current title reign will be used constructively. Something tells me that this is another instance of WWE wanting Roman to dominate the roster until he loses the title to some heel tactics that still make him look strong.
Until he begins the title run on Monday we’ll never know, but it seems to me that this may just be a throw-away few months for the Intercontinental championship. It is a shame because Miz’s departure could have fueled someone else on the Raw roster that is deserving of a jump in status. Roman Reigns went into the title match booked as #1 and winning the title does not change that #1 position, it only makes WWE’s affinity for Reigns more obvious.
