5 Superstars Who Could Win Their First World Championship in 2018
Almost every year someone new becomes a world champion in WWE. Who gets that honor in 2018? Here are my Top 5 candidates!
5. Baron Corbin

While he seemed prime to win the WWE Championship this year, Corbin has found a comfy position as United States Champion. The loss of his Money in the Bank briefcase was certainly a hard blow to work through, but the Lone Wolf may be working himself back to the top. He could be a top contender coming out of WrestleMania as he has stayed away from the main event. Any feud would be somewhat fresh depending on who he would face. A possible switch to RAW would open up even more doors as well. The only question is will he be able to take the top spot.
4. Cesaro

This week we saw Cesaro challenge Roman Reigns for his Intercontinental Championship, and tear down the house while doing so. It is no secret the Swiss Sensation is one of the best workers in the ring today, and in many fans’ opinions, he is one of the most underutilized. While it seems more likely he could move to Smackdown Live for a WWE Championship reign, a Universal Championship run is not entirely out of the question.
3. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe appears to have his attention locked on the Intercontinental title at the moment, but there will come a time where Joe focuses his sights on a world championship. He does have unfinished business with Lesnar and Roman, as well as a history with AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, putting him in contention for both shows main event titles.
2. Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura was so close to winning the WWE Championship this year. Unfortunately for him, that honor went to AJ Styles, who is no stranger to Nakamura. At the moment Shinsuke is locked in the Owens and Shane rivalry, and while it is a decent spot to be in for now, there is no doubt he will look to gain his first world championship. Preferably against AJ at WrestleMania.
1. Braun Strowman

It is only a matter of time before Braun is holding a top belt at this point. Roman Reigns is looking to take the Universal Championship from Lesnar at Wrestlemania, and though there are a number of individuals who could challenge the Big Dog after the Show of Shows, Braun is the most formidable. Braun and Roman have been entangled in a rivalry for almost a year, and it may spill over into 2018 over the Universal title. As a true highlight of 2017, Braun could very well be rewarded with a run with the belt very soon.
