2017 Review 2018 Preview
Bold Prediction For Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt At WWE WrestleMania 34
If you know me at all, you know I love the Bold Predictions. I’ve called such crazy things as Seth Rollins cashing in his Money In The Bank contract on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31, Kevin Owens pinning John Cena in his WWE main roster debut, Roman Reigns entering the 2017 Royal Rumble, AJ Styles being the man to dethrone Jinder Mahal, and so much more.
I still have Shinsuke Nakamura winning the Royal Rumble on the table, a prediction I made before SummerSlam 2017.
But on the latest edition of The Greg DeMarco Show, I made a bold prediction that matches the true definition of B.O.L.D.: bullheaded, outlandish, lascivious, and deplorable. What was it?
Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy are going to have a great feud, but I think they’ll end up liking each other and taking on this Great War together. So much so, that I see Sheamus & Cesaro bringing The Bar (and the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships) to WrestleMania to be challenged by…Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt!
Why This Will Happen
The Raw tag team scene isn’t as strong as it once was, and it seems like Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are on a collision course as we head towards WrestleMania. That leaves The Bar with no strong WrestleMania opponents (sorry, fans of The Revival).
Bray Wyatt, when done right, is insanely over with the crowd. #WOKEN Matt Hardy is obviously over, and can easily ride the wave to, and through, New Orleans. They can’t possibly feud all the way to April 8, so why not end up as a tag team?
Why This Won’t Happen
Two words: Jeff Hardy.
Actually, that should be three words: Woken Jeff Hardy. Brother Nero could return from injury in time for WrestleMania, and could easily benefit from the push of a Broken/Woken character. It seems like Jeff has one more push left in him, and teaming with Matt as the Woken Hardys could kickstart it.
So What’s The Deal?
At the end of the day, you have plenty of options for Jeff Hardy, easily putting The Charismatic Enigma into a mid-card title match at WrestleMania 34. But Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt could be lightning in a bottle, bringing The Great War to the Mercedes Benz Superdome as they challenge, and defeat, The Bar.
And that’s exactly how I see it going down.
