John Cena looked to find his own path and a spot on the card in New Orleans at Wrestlemania. Smackdown Live on Feb. 27 began his newest endeavor and WWE got their second best Tuesday night viewership numbers of the year.

Team Blue has now seen two straight weeks of viewershio increase, as it was up 79K over seven days prior to it’s second highest viewership of 2,692,000 viewers. This is another great number for Smackdown.

That was sixth among cable originals on the night, behind History’s Curse of Oak Island, HGTV’s Fixer Upper, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity on Fox News, and Rachel Maddow on MSNBC.

It appears Cena’s path to WrestleMania helped spark some intrigue for Smackdown Live. We will have to see how this continues through Fastlane, going to WrestleMania.

Feb. 20 – 2.61 million
Feb. 13 – 2.45 million
Feb. 6 – 2.51 million
Jan. 30 – 2.51 million
Jan. 23 – 2.58 million
Jan. 16 – 2.6 million
Jan. 9 – 2.6 million
Jan. 2 – 2.72 million

My Thoughts:

Smackdown Live has posted strong numbers all year. The show has only seen less the 2.5m viewers once this year, which is impressive for the blue brand. If you see this, this is why networks are willing to pay so much for WWE. It has two shows that are atleast two hours and post numbers like this. Also the fact that both shows post these numbers 52 weeks a year.
