Meltzer is reporting that Lesnar signed a new deal “at a higher rate”. It should also he noted that it wasn’t an extension of his current deal but a completely new deal. At this time Meltzer is unsure if the deal is just for one more match, but that we’ll obviously get a better sense after the end of that match on what his immediate future is. Also it’s worth noting that a UFC fight is allowed with his new deal, which makes it seem like more than a “one match deal”.

Vince made the decision to bring back Lesnar on the Raw before WrestleMania. However the deal wasn’t signed until Mania Sunday before the match.

Meltzer has also stated that Reigns showed up to Mania thinking he would leave as the champion. Reigns wasn’t told ahead of time that Lesnar would be keeping the title. According to Meltzer the plan is still to go with Reigns as champion. It’s been stated by many outlets that officials were concerned at the reaction to Reigns at WrestleMania. Leading to speculation that the title switch will happen in Saudi Arabia, where Reigns will be heavily cheered at “The Greatest Royal Rumble”.

It should be noted that not many people knew of the finish. It’s said that at the beginning of the match not even the referee knew the finish. Which caused quite the surprise at the finish of the match.
