Back in May of last year, DIY lost a ladder match against The Authors of Pain for the NXT Tag Team Titles. After the match, Tommasso Ciampa turned on Johnny Gargano declaring that it’s his time. We would not hear from Ciampa again for months due to a knee injury sustained during the match.

While Tommasso was gone, Johnny would go on to feud with Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas over the NXT Title, losing to him on multiple occasions. We wouldn’t hear a peep from Tommasso until TakeOver: Philadelphia where he struck Gargano in the back with a crutch after Johnny put on a five star match in an aforementioned loss to Almas. A couple of months ago, Gargano would put his NXT career on the line for another shot at the the title.

Ciampa would strike again with a crutch shot to the back, costing Johnny Wrestling the match and his NXT career. Gargano would get his revenge at the recent TakeOver event in New Orleans by defeating Tommasso in an Unsanctioned Match to get reinstated to NXT. Tommasso Ciampa may have gotten the last word though and won the war according to him.

Last week on NXT TV, Ciampa would beat the holy hell out of Johnny. Due to the vicious beating, Gargano had to be stretchered out of Full Sail and hasn’t been on social media since April 11th. Ciampa continues to berate Johnny via Twitter, which you can see below:

Little Johnny was last seen being carted out of Full Sail in an ambulance.

He hasn’t tweeted since April 11th.

Nobody remembers who won the battle…they remember who won the war.
