Impact News: Impact Wrestling Viewership Declines This Week (6/21/18)
This week’s episode of Impact Wrestling on PopTV saw new Tag Team Champions crowned as LAX defeated Z&E, plus Madison Rayne vs. Su Yung for the Knockouts Championship was announced for Slammiversary.
Impact did face some competition after going two straight weeks without any and holding steady numbers in ratings. This week’s show brought in a rating of 0.06 (262,000 viewers) which is down from last week’s rating of 276,000 viewers. It also ranked #128 on the Cable Top 150, while last week the show ranked #125.
The NBA Draft topped the night in the 18-49 demographic with a rating of 1.25, which is down 0.11 from the 2017 draft.
Here is the viewership breakdown of the past four shows:
May 31st Episode: 283,000 viewers (Under Pressure episode)
June 7th Episode: 296,000 viewers
June 14th Episode: 276,000 viewers
June 21st Episode: 262,000 viewers

Ja’ Von’s Take: It seems that Impact is on the decline in terms of viewership. The past two weeks, Impact didn’t have any major sports competition until this week with the NBA Draft which is why I was kind of shocked that the show took a hit in viewership last week. Right now Impact is on the road to Slammiversary and the card is slowly beginning to take shape, so you would think that as they head to the biggest show of the summer they would have some kind of increase. I believe in this regime and have been a fan since I stumbled upon them a few years back. They are putting out some of their best work in while. They have finally found their groove and I think they are just in a funk at the moment. I predict that they will begin an upswing as we get closer to Slammiversary.
