Eli Drake made his Impact Wrestling debut in February of 2015 when he participated in Impact One Night Only Gut Check Tournament and defeated Crazzy Steve to qualify for a five way elimination match in the finals which he lost.

Drake then took part in the March 2014 television tapings and his televised debut came on the April 10th episode of that same year. Drake made his debut alongside former Impact star and current RAW superstar Drew McIntyre fka Drew Galloway and Micah together theae tree formed the faction known as The Rising.

The Rising would then go on to feud with The Bear Down Clan. It was on the July 1st epaidoe of Impact Wrestling that The Rising was defeated by The Beat Down Clan in a 4 on 3 hanicap match and per the stipulation of the match The Rising was forced to dissolve. Since the faction broke up Drew would go on to challenge then Impact World Champion EC3 for the world title on the July 15th episode. Eli Drake then would turn heel on the same epipsde by costing Drew the match and championship.

On the August 5th episode of Impact Drake would defeat Galloway but on the August 19th episode Drew defeated Drake in a NO DQ match.

Drake wouldn’t find much success until the January 26th episode of Impact when he secured a feat or fired briefcase that contain a King of the Mountain Championship opportunity. On the May 31st episode of Impact Drake would cash in his briefcase on Bram and would win his first championship.

Eli Drake would capitalize on his biggest opportunity since debuting for Impact Wrestling when he won a 20 man gaulent match which featured the debut of Johnny Impact for the vacant Impact Global Championship on the August 24th epiosde of Impact. Drake’s most recent success happen at the last PPV entiled Redemption where he and his partner Scott Steiner won the Impact World Tag Team Titles from LAX.

Recently there have been talks and rumors that WWE was intrested in Drake again. Drake was signed to a developmental contract in May of 2013 under the name of Slate Randall but was released on August 1st 2014 due to not getting along with then head coach Bill Demott. The rumors went as far to state that Drake was in talks with both Impact and WWE about where he would end up when his contract expires.

Ja’ Von’s Take: This is great news for Impact Wrestling because I feel like they can’t really afford to lose anyone else from their roster. This is the best roster that Impact has had in a long time. Drake signing a contract extension in my eyes seems like he could be signing a new long term contract in the near future.
