So far, Major League Wrestling’s return to Queens, New York at the Melrose Ballroom for its next set of Fusion tapings on October 4th is shaping up nicely.

To date, we’ve seen a couple of big matches announced for the show with Jimmy Havoc facing Sami Callihan in a Spin The Wheel Make The Deal match, LA Park going one-on-one with PCO and The Hart Foundation meeting ACH, Rich Swann and Marko Stunt. Today, another big match has been made official by MLW when Tom Lawlor squares off with Shane Strickland:

Since the return of Major League Wrestling nearly a year ago, two men have been at the epicenter of the league’s resurgence. October 4th at Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NY we will find out who truly is the ace of Major League Wrestling as Shane “Swerve” Strickland vs. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor is signed for MLW FURY ROAD: an MLW Fusion TV taping. Strickland has been lauded by the media MLW’s ace since MLW One-Shot and while “Filthy” Tom Lawlor has padded his resume over the past year with several high profile wins including outlasting 39 other wrestlers to win the Battle Riot and a future world title shot any time, anywhere.  

League officials see both Strickland and Lawlor as franchise material but only one can be the ace.  Will it be the former World Champion Strickland?  Will it be elite UFC crossover fighter “Filthy” Lawlor? Find out October 4th.
