WWE News: NXT Superstar Injured Last Night At Evolution

Last night at WWE’s first all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution, a number of matches seemingly “stole the show” with all of the female Superstars putting on high quality performances.

One such performance was that of the NXT Women’s Championship Match where ‘The Pirate Princess’ Kairi Sane defended against the former champion, Shayna Baszler. It was a back-and-forth, up-and-down, edge of your seat kind of match that finally saw ‘The Queen Of Spades’ recapture the NXT Women’s Title to become the first two-time champion, but with the help of fellow Four Horsewomen Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir.

While Baszler certainly won the battle, she didn’t come away from it unscathed as Ringside News has noted that Shayna was seen on crutches at the airport. Additionally, Bryan Alvarez has also now spoken on it on Wrestling Observer Radio, making note that she is scheduled to be evaluated for an ankle injury.

EA’s Take: Obviously the hope is that it’s a minor issue, but if it’s say, a couple of weeks you can get away with it. There’s currently a couple more weeks of television in the bag before TakeOver: War Games on November 17th, which Shayna’s not even scheduled for. If she’s added though, that’s a couple of weeks to heal up. Or you don’t have to add her to it at all in a wrestling capacity, have her accompany Duke and Shafir for a tag match against Kairi and Io Shirai. There’s just a bunch of ways they can approach it as long as it isn’t a major injury.
