MLW News: Two More MLW Stars Suffer Injuries This Weekend
Two MLW stars have suffered injuries over the weekend!
Major League Wrestling will be taping Fusion television with its Never Say Never and Zero Hour events in Miami December 13th and 14th respectively, and as was noted yesterday the Never Say Never card will be seeing a change after one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions Rey Fenix was injured on Friday night while competing for CMLL (see the full story here).
The match had been scheduled to be the main event and while MLW has yet to officially announce anything, there’s no question that an adjustment will need to be made. Last night, two more MLW stars who are scheduled for the Miami shows were in action, albeit in very different venues. First, ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor made his return to the octagon at the first pay-per-view for Golden Boy MMA in a losing effort on the undercard to Deron Winn.
According to PWInsider, Lawlor suffered a broken hand during the course of the fight. Of course, this now puts Lawlor’s scheduled No Ropes, No Holds Barred Match against Simon Gotch at Never Say Never (see that announcement here) in jeopardy, however like Fenix’s match, MLW has yet to make any official changes.
Also last night, MJF, who is set to compete at both Never Say Never and Zero Hour, was in Chicago for AAW Pro’s ‘Unstoppable’ against Sami Callihan (check those results here). Although it wasn’t specified that it occurred last night, today MJF took to Twitter to reveal he has a fractured elbow and will be off for 4-6 weeks:
I’ve fractured my elbow.
Recovery time 4-6 weeks.
The good news is I get a break from having to make eye contact with you poor fat slobs.
