Ring of Honor

Ring of Honor has signed Bandido to a deal. There were three places where he could go, All Elite Wrestling, but the situation with that isn’t totally clear yet, Ring of Honor, which is where he went, or WWE. The offer from WWE was said to have been very very low. Which is what they have a habit of doing. They tell you come be apart of the WWE family. Unless they don’t need you of course, then they throw you away. Ring of Honor gave him a much larger deal regardless, to work immensely less dates. Plus we get to see him work CMLL and New Japan some now.

MLW

MLW announced the main event of their April 4th show, the Thursday show before Battle Riot on the 5th which will be Rush vs LA Park. Now there isn’t anything on the line because they need to work within the parameters that CMLL gives them. I’m not sure what the requirements are but I’m positive the only one would be Rush can’t lose his hair obviously. Unless CMLL would be making a big piece of the pie of a huge gate which it won’t be because the center can only fit about 950. I’ve tweeted Court Bauer about using the Manhattan Center but he told me there’s about 40,000 reasons why he doesn’t run it and I assume that means it cost that much only to hold about 400 more people or so. Maybe 600 if you cram them in. Realistically a problem with some companies are, there’s no enough mid sized arenas in America. You either have the big basketball stadiums or ball rooms. Very rare to find places that run 2000-7000 people. There’s a bunch of European basketball arenas that fit the bill but obviously they can’t tape out of middle Europe.

Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame

LA Park was elected to the wrestling observer Hall of Fame getting 73 percent of the vote which was the highest among those inducted. Ultimo Guerrero and Villano III only got 55 percent of the vote, coming up 5 percent short. There’s good speculation since Park is already in that those two could get in. Los Misioneros de la Muerte got 57 percent of the vote so they might be locks as well next year. Blue Panther is off the balloting now as he didn’t get over 50 percent after being on the ballot for 15 years. I’d say he’s borderline. I don’t know if there’s anything else in his career he could do now to get in since he lost his mask already. He’s still a really good wrestler, however. LA Park is obviously a no brainer. He was a hall of famer before this in Dave’s eyes, by helping CMLL’s attendance, basically being the star attraction for both the Anniversary show and TripleMania, plus being the top draw for MLW in one New York show, the show in Chicago which got around 2000 fans and now a show during WrestleMania weekend, seems like a lock to me.
