BJ Whitmer has given Ring Of Honor his resignation!

In the wake of Ring Of Honor dealing with the loss of talents such as Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page among others while bringing in the likes of PCO, Brody King, Bandido and Mark Haskins, a longtime employee of the company has quit under what looks to be less than amicable circumstances.

BJ Whitmer, who first debuted with the promotion in 2003, has worked off-and-on inside the ring and behind the scenes for Ring Of Honor since. However, multiple outlets have reported that he is no longer with the company after putting in his resignation today following his workday in the ROH Office in Baltimore. Whitmer has been working for ROH full-time out of the office and most recently worked last weekend’s Final Battle at Hammerstein Ballroom and Final Battle Fallout in Philadelphia.

Additionally, Whitmer sent out an email to the roster to inform them of his decision, which was then forwarded to PWInsider, who has shared some of its contents. In Whitmer’s own words, his decision was made after having been “treated with utter disrespect” by Ring Of Honor management and it was something that had been “brewing since September” before finishing with, “In leaving ROH, I want to say thank you and it’s been a pleasure working with all of you. I wish everyone nothing but the best and I’m certain I’ll cross paths with most of you again”.

It’s also been added by PWInsider that Whitmer received an invitation to be a guest coach at the WWE Performance Center that he wanted to accept, however Ring Of Honor got involved and he ultimately declined.

EA’s Take: Another thing to point out, PWInsider also reported that Whitmer’s wife, WOH Champion Kelly Klein, has been expected to sign with the company. Now, they didn’t indicate one way or the other what kind of effect this situation with Whitmer will have on that, but you’d have to imagine it may play a role. Just something else to keep an eye on after Klein just won the title last weekend.
