Injured NXT Superstar May Take On New Role After Complications Delay Ring Return

The latest on NXT Superstar Tino Sabbatelli’s injury!

It’s been quite a few months now since we’ve heard anything regarding WWE NXT Superstar Tino Sabbatelli after he suffered a torn pec last May that required surgery to repair (see the story here).

While there’s never a good time for any injury, this one was especially bad for Sabbatelli who had just split with his tag team partner Riddick Moss, who also oddly enough would be injured shortly after Tino. Moss has since returned to action at NXT Live Events, but there have still been no updates on Sabbatelli after it was believed he would be shelved for 6-9 months.

Today there is finally some news however, as The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Tino has not been cleared to return as he has still been having issues which are being compared to the situation Jason Jordan has been in since this same time last year.

There’s no word on what this could mean for Sabbatelli’s in-ring future, but The Observer adds that there has been some talk of using him in an announce team role. Whether that would be for NXT or possible any of the main roster shows like 205 Live, RAW or SmackDown Live, that remains to be seen. It should be reiterated that these are reportedly just “talks”, so of course nothing is set in stone.
