NXT UK TakeOver: NXT UK Tag Title Tournament Finals

The first NXT UK Tag Champions were crowned at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool!

The first-ever NXT UK TakeOver kicked off today (follow along with Mitchell’s Live Report) with the final match of the NXT UK Tag Team Title Tournament as Moustache Mountain, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, met the duo of James Drake and Zack Gibson.

Sporting new gear in honor of the legendary British Bulldogs, many fans went into this match feeling that Bate and Seven were the obvious favorites, showing why in the beginning stages of the match by working over Drake until Gibson was forced to pull his partner out of the ring and stop the momentum.

Drake and Gibson were finally able to single out one of the members of Moustache Mountain in Seven, who took a nasty shot to the head that busted him open. Eventually Seven would get the tag to Bate, who was able to hold off both opponents on his own for a period of time.

After isolating Seven once again, Gibson would deliver Helter Skelter while Drake followed with a 450 Splash off the top that nearly finished it off. In the end, Moustache Mountain took one risk too many, Gibson and Drake capitalizing with the Ticket To Mayhem to become the first NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
