Press Release: Sean Mooney Pays Tribute To ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund
Sean Mooney has posted a video with a touching tribute to Gene Okerlund!
Unless maybe you were on vacation with no internet or just somewhere else “off the grid”, the wrestling world lost one of the all-timers in the past week with the passing of WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund.
Since news of Okerlund’s passing, countless amounts of current and former performers, close friends, fellow legends and Hall Of Famers have all shared memories and paid tribute to their late friend (see some of those here). One man who had a close relationship with ‘Mean’ Gene is that of Sean Mooney, the two working together in similar roles for the then-WWF starting in the late-1980’s. The duo would reunite on-screen in 2016 for The Edge & Christian Show on WWE Network.
