Andrew’s IMPACT YouTube Ratings & Analysis (3/8/2019)

A look at the YouTube performance for this week’s IMPACT!

As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for wrestling. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.

As you’ve become accustomed to this with WWE product, let’s continue the Impact YouTube! Here is this week’s IMPACT YouTube Report, compiled approximately 48 hours after IMPACT went off the air:

Ratings Analysis:

This is actually really easy analysis. Rosemary and Scarlett are two of the hottest acts in IMPACT literally and figuratively, so they’ve drawn most of the eyes since we’ve gone back to doing these numbers.

Sami is also a big draw, ” The Draw”, so he keeps people’s attention. Plus if you look at the way the video is phrased, people were probably just curious if Swann joined oVe.

Glenn though is comedy gold, plus he’s a well known name, coupled with Konnan’s Keepin it 100 podcast – Glenn has a solid footprint.

So we’ve got the Knockouts, Glenn and Sami at the top and nothing about that is surprising.

Well now, the numbers don’t lie and the top videos pulled in their best weekend numbers since we’ve been back to this. The Dark War was definitely a spectacle to behold so I can understand how it drew some extra attention. All of that said, I’m curious where we’re going with all this.

By that I mean, Twitch numbers spiked and then basically went back to the average/normal. That being said, with the spike mostly due to spectacle, I wonder how much attention is sticking around.

IMPACT is in an interesting spot since they seem to spike attention but the lack of them having Video on Demand on their Twitch Channel hurts their overall reach. Since Pursuit is watched by 5 bums in a dumpster behind a Wawa, and the lack of utilizing all of Twitch is a missed opportunity.
