Greg DeMarco presents the 10/17/19 edition of The Chairshot Power Rankings! Could anyone overcome Bayley’s character change and title win?

Each week, I bring you my Power Rankings in Top 5 form. What can you measure with a “Power Ranking?” The answer is simple: power. Power here is defined as momentum, who got the big wins, and who is on an upward trajectory after this week. Each week is different, and the landscape of professional wrestling (and sports entertainment) can change in an instant. Thus, the weekly rankings will change with it.

Missing The Cut

• Ricky Starks – Amazing debut on NWA Power for a can’t miss talent. The Absolute Stroke Daddy is here to stay!
• Damian Priest – Big win over Pete Dunne, but what’s next? Hopefully not just a loss to Pete Dunne.
• Scorpio Sky & SCU – AEW’s best angle so far, and it was Scorpio Sky who made it so with his beautiful touches of realism.

5. Rey Fury

Rey Fury, you ask? Yes, Rey Fury. Rey Fury defeated Serpentico, who held the ELEV8 Pro for over 600 days, and captured the ELEV8 Championship. The group is sporting new ownership and a new outlook for the fans. Rey Fury is the man to lead them to prosperity.

4. The Viking Raiders

Erik and Ivar are YOUR new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, and did so in a banger of a match with Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler. The undefeated (in WWE/NXT) duo are now champions, and are seemingly unstoppable. They aren’t higher on the list as you can’t yet pinpoint a direction for the powerhouse duo, but they always deliver and could be poised to go on a major run as tag team champs.

3. Lance Archer

Lance Archer is an insanely talented performer, and now he’s the IWGP United States Champion! Jon Moxley wasn’t able to make it to King Of Pro Wrestling due to travel concerns related to weather, and Archer took his place against Juice Robinson for the vacated championship. Lance Archer is a guy I’ve wanted to see breakout, and I really hope we are seeing that now.

2. Tommaso Ciampa

Tommaso Ciampa made his triumphant in-ring return against a game Angel Garza, and it was quickly apparent that Daddy’s Home! The win for Ciampa was good, but what came after was even better. Ciampa is obviously a threat as all four members of the Undisputed Era came out to confront him, and use his spotlight to pull their USB drive gimmick. Ciampa is back, and it’s injected even more energy into NXT.

1. Bayley

Yes, Bayley won the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. But her selection here is about way more than that. Bayley completely changed her character in one entrance, and it was universally loved. Now, she’s a champion again and poised to find new challengers on the Blue Brand. In a world where John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Bayley would never turn heel, Bayley did, and have found a whole new momentum.
