The Elites are back! What’s going on this week?
Being the Elite #183: The One with the Botches
- Kenny’s on the phone and someone’s not picking up.
- Jackson’s haven’t gotten a hold of whomever either.
- Oh, we’re looking for Page and he’s not answering.
- Oh, we got a self-aware blooper. New and interesting.
- Got the thought process behind the tag match. And another blooper.
- I love the self-awareness. They know this is goofy and they embrace it.
- Bucks in front of the arena, got some fam with them.
- Bucks giving the fam a tour of the set.
- Sonny! And Kazarian.
- Yeah, he’s weird, Sonny, you’re not the only one thinking it.
- MJF is SOO fucking obnoxious and Waldo’s getting to be just as bad.
- Omega and Michael Nakazawa chatting about jackshit.
- Nakazawa trying to keep up with Shida and he’s going to die. At least it’ll be funny.
- Are they cleaning the titles with a toothbrush?
- Rehearsals!
- I don’t recall Reynolds and Silver having a tag match. I thought Reynolds took on Mox on his own.
- Okay, so Alex Reynolds is the one from last week who took the tab. Gotcha. ‘
- Nothing better than experiencing Moxley live.
- Moxley broke his own record.
- So, Reynolds and Silver are going to Dark Order.
- Hangman Page! Hate the hat. He also can’t sing for shit.
- Private Party! Should someone point out that Page stole the win from Omega?
- Page is WASTED and Private Party are trying to be the responsible adults.
- I love people talking to Big Swole while she has her earbuds in and her not listening.
- Christopher Daniels still bothered by the botch. Yeah, not his greatest moment.
- Matt showing off his battle wounds, Nick looks stoned. Oh, that’s the flu.
- Oh, they didn’t know he was sick until a couple of hours before the show.
AEW Dark Week 11 – Everything’s Crazier in Texas
Love this look back at AEW’s growth. Love that they made the Bucks fight to get on top instead of them being booked as the top team outright. Fighting for the tag belts and then having Christmas dinner together has to be awkward.
I love the fire in the Young Bucks. Schiavone and Dasha! I hate the pants Dasha is wearing.
SCU vs Private Party
We’ve got Vickie Guerrero in la casa!
Not surprisingly, this is a really good match. SCU and Private Party have great chemistry. Other than that, this was a pretty average match. It wasn’t for the tag titles, so there didn’t seem to be any urgency to it. Everyone hit the spots the fans expected and it was a good match, I just didn’t feel like there was anything over the top to it. SCU got the win. Good match, but not spectacular.
Britt Baker vs Machiko
I LOVE Britt Baker! No, she’s not the best right now, but I like her. I thought Machiko was from Japan, she’s a Dallas native. She looks excited to be there though. Good handshake.
I’m going to be honest, this isn’t the best match in the world. It was good. Machiko seemed popular with her hometown crowd, but it wasn’t the best in terms of technicality or work, though seeing Britt break out new moves was good. Baker gets the submission win. Okay match, nothing impressive.
Bea Priestley vs Kris Statlander
I don’t quite get Kris Statlander’s gimmick, but she’s a really great wrestler and so is Bea Priestley. I’m a little puzzled by Statlander basically getting her ass kicked for a good chunk of this match when she’s got a #1 Contender’s match on Dynamite. I did like the Nightmare Collective showing up, even if it was for a bad ET reference. Statlander gets the win with a sloppy looking tombstone variation. Good match.
Okay promo by Statlander, still don’t get the gimmick and her voice annoyed me.
Best Friends and Orange Cassidy vs Hybrid 2 and PAC
Six guys I’m not a fan of are having a match. Forgive me if I’m not going to be paying a lot of attention to this. The match was okay, but it was such a random match up for the heels, it was hard to understand why they were having the match. I still don’t get Orange Cassidy or why people cheer him, but at least he actually did something this week. PAC gets the win for his team. Overall, a good match and a good show, but nothing really over the top or extraordinary.
