Welllll~, it’s a big show for AEW Dark: Elevation!

Only three matches being advertised, and perhaps only those three at all? Wow, maybe my hope of Elevation being able to downsize is coming true. Though, I’m sure the interview promos will pad this out to be an hour, give or take.

AFTER WATCHING

Wow, nevermind, they kept it to under 40 minutes. My hopes for getting back to Play By Play for this… Well okay I still won’t worry about that, but with 1.25 speed on YouTube, this is a breeze. Rosa got a quick win to stay strong, she’s still going to come out of the feud with Nyla Rose and Jade Cargill to go after Britt Baker. One thing I do like about commentary on Elevation is that Eddie Kingston gives Tony Schiavone such a hard time over Adam Cole and Britt Baker, I really hope something about that comes to blows. Then, The Dark Order was definitely feeling the love from NYC as they tore into the mishmash team of jobbers.

A little surprised we didn’t get interview promos to fill time between matches, but things went right into Wight VS the alphabet soup of jobbers. A 3v1 knuckle lock was a great new idea, actually. Fans still have a lot of fun with Wight’s chops in the corner, and honestly it is still a lot of fun because chops never got out of style. Gunn Club showing up makes sense given the beef they started with Wight, I wonder if they’re going to take Wight on in a 3v1 as their blow-off. But then the last 15 minutes is interview promos without stopping. Editing can put those in wherever, just makes the last half of this episode seem like filler because it’s all pretty standard material for Britt and MJF.

Though, we do get some good stuff, such as Bryan basically speaking from the heart because his character is who he is. Bryan is ready for more with Omega, and more from the entire AEW roster, and we all know he’s going to get just about all of it. The Acclaimed having a rap battle with Tony Khan outta nowhere was a reason to watch to the end, though. Glad to see we’re getting back to Acclaimed VS Varsity Blonds, too. And I do like Scorpio’s point of being on AEW Dark this time last year and now moving up into Dynamite stories. Sadly, it has to be in the American Top Team stuff. Again, if Men of the Year were to feud with bigger names like Lance Archer and Inner Circle, then just do it! Don’t parody WWE with MMA crossovers and cringe. Just give us the feud we should be seeing without Dan Lambert being the frosting on top.
