QUICK NOTES

My excerpt is just as excited as it is sarcastic. They give us another 11 matches right before the PPV, but it’s even more obvious Dark standard formula than usual with so many of the “established names” who have PPV matches facing jobbers just to stay warmed up. I’m not even sure I need to look up results or wait for the episode to be over to know what happens, but I hear Skye Blue was very well received since she is a true Chicago “local competitor.” And given the thumbnail even has her as a tiny little addition right behind Wheeler Yuta, it makes a lot of sense that Tony Khan walks out to the ring to give her a spot in the Women’s Casino Battle Royal.

Also, we apparently get more of the Moxley-Kojima “press conference” here, so I guess if that little clip of it during Rampage wasn’t enough, go ahead and watch that at about 14:30 into the video. We get a promo from Thunder Rosa that of course responds to the 2v1 attack from Nyla Rose and Jade Cargill on Dynamite. Rosa is already my choice for the Women’s Casino Battle Royale, but this was a good story beat that needed to happen given what we got on Wednesday. And the advertised first CM Punk appearance on Dark was of course after the tag main event, which was the actual last thing taped Friday night, to send the fans all home happy in a truly great go-home moment.
