Andrew’s IMPACT Results & Match Ratings: 11.11.2021

9 days away from Turning Point, we’ve got some questions! Who will challenge Moose? Who will challenge the Good Brothers? Answers are found tonight!

We know that Mercedes Martinez has a title shot at Turning Point, so she gets a tune up match against Madison Rayne. Minoru Suzuki gets to kill Kaleb, and we get to see if the Undead Bridesmaids are useful to The IInspiration.

There’s other stuff, but that was covered in the lead in. So let’s get to the show!

Results:

Chris Bey & ELP w/ Hikuleo vs FinJuice

Finlay starts things off, and much like the Good Brothers match from last week, a few quick tags and Double Axe Handles from the corner, give FinJuice the advantage over Chris Bey. Finally a hair grab from ELP, clears the ring a little, Hikuleo gets involved on the outside while Finlay is irate in the ring and Bullet Club starts to take over.

Avalanche & Frog Splash Back Rakes are how BC decide to take it to Juice while they revel in the momentum. Juice starts with his Hand of God combination, but ELP manages to block with…well…a Titty Twister. Juice breaks the nipple lock and lands the Left Hand of God. Finlay gets the hot tag and takes it to everyone.

Blue Thunder Bomb for the near fall. FinJuice hit multiple tandem moves and Chris Bey can’t find a way out of this. ELP tries to break it up, but he eats an Uranage Backbreaker and Juice Box. Doomsday attempt, but ELP distracts Finlay and he jumps after Hikuleo. Bey goes for the Victory Roll, but the referee is distracted. Juice rolls it back and ELP hits the loaded boot Superkick, Bullet Club wins!

The Good Brothers come down to beat on Bullet Club, but Hikuleo clears house and gets a nice rub off of making the brothers turn tail and looking good while doing it.

Kaleb vs Minoru Suzuki

Kaleb hurt himself on Suzuki’s body, tried a few things because Suzuki likes to play with his food. But yeah, this was a nice way for Suzuki to be Suzuki in his purest form. Josh Alexander should be very concerned next week.

Havok & Rosemary vs Undead Bridesmaids (Kimber Lee & Brandi Lauren)

Rosemary and Havok clear the ring quickly, but The IInspiration’s music hits. They have a quick comedy spot summoning stage hands to bring them stools so they can watch the match from the top of the stage. It’s distracting from the match the fact that the camera keeps cutting back to Jess and Cassie, but they area also supposed to be the big deal.

The distraction buys the Bridesmaids some offense, but then Decay comes back, Havok squashes them and Havok gets a fairly quick and uneventful pinfall.

Madison Rayne vs Mercedes Martinez

Mercedes applies her power advantage early, but Madison manages to catch her and then keep her grounded for a while. A Cravat and knee lifts give Madison a long period of having control. A Tiger Driver, Snapping DDT, and then an attempt at a Fisherman Buster…oh but Madison counters into a cradle for 2.

A Block Buster from Madison gets returned with a big Running Boot. Mercedes goes for another power move, but Madison counters, tries for CrossRayne, but gets that blocked and then Mercedes rolls her up with a deep stack and Mercedes wins!

Madison doesn’t appreciate the way she lost, and goes for the post-match beatdown on Mercedes. A CrossRayne that hits, a chairshot and then Mickie finally comes out for the babyface style save on her next opponent. Mercedes and Mickie have what looks to be a moment, but as Mickie helps Mercedes up, she grabs her, Air Raid Crash and stands tall over the champion.

We get a backstage segment that ends with Steve Maclin getting a singles match against Laredo Kid next week. If Maclin wins, it’s a triple threat at Turning Point; if Maclin loses, he stays home during the Special event.

Rocky Romero vs Rohit Raju w/Raj Singh

A little headlock takeover trading and then Rohit does the Eddie Guerrero shimmy to mock Rocky and Rocky returns after his headlock. They keep trying to one up one another, and the Master of Sneaky Style comes out on top early. A fake leap, an eye poke and then a dive off the steps gives Rocky the advantage. After the commercial though, Rohit is in control.

Rohit hits the Swinging Neckbreaker into a PerfectPlex, for a 2 count. Rocky gets choked against the ropes, Rohit gets separated and Raj clocks Rocky. Rohit really starts working over the left arm. Rocky tries to get some momentum with the Forever Lariats, but Rohit dodges about four of them before Rocky finally connects and finds some time to take control.

Rocky hits his half of Strong Zero, but Rohit keeps fighting through. A few counters, and Rocky hits the Satellite DDT for nearfall. Shiranui attempt from Rocky gets blocked, Jumping Flatliner from Rohit and that’s a 2 count! Rohit goes to the top for the Dragon Stomp, and misses. Rocky hits the Frakensteiner and transitions it into a Cross Armbreaker.

After taking out Raj, Rocky hits a few kicks and a Slice Bread #2, for another near fall! Rocky poses, a few counters again, Rewind Mule Kick from Rocky. Rohit staggers back, they counter a little more, Rohit catches Rocky with the Jumping Knee and then the Mumbai Driveby. Rohit wins!

Massive Cassidy vs Eddie Edwards vs Matt Cardona

It’s a pretty back and forth early going. There’s some trades, Cardona has an early advantage until Cassidy just overpowers him. But as he charges the corner, Eddie hits an Enzuigiri on Cassidy from the apron, Reboot from Cardona, and Cassidy is in trouble. Or not – he grabs Cardona, catches Eddie out of the sky, Double Chokeslam.

We go to commercial, and Cassidy is still in control. Eddie picks his spot, waits for Cassidy to wipe out Cardona, then he goes for a Roll-Up, but that’s only 2. Eddie goes for a Hyper Extended Leg Breaker, but Cassidy powers through. Eddie tries to charge, Cassidy moves and Cardona eats it to the outside again. This is currently Cassidy working over Eddie and everyone finding ways to hit Cardona and keep him out for now.

Cassidy goads Eddie to fire him up a little and we get a short strike exchange before Cassidy just knocks Eddie’s teeth out. Cassidy actually gets crowd support and speaking of random things, Cardona remembers he’s in this match. He finally gets in, Eddie and Cardona double team Cassidy. A few strikes and a Blue Thunder Bomb lays everyone out for a little bit. Double team continues, Cardona and Eddie go for a Double Suplex, but Cassidy counters to actual chants from the fans.

We see a dumb thing when the big man goes to the ropes. Superplex attempt, but turns into a Powerbomb/Tower of Doom style move from Cardona for 2. Cassidy pulls off a Black Hole Slam on Cardona for another near fall, and then Eddie and Cardona start the double team again. They low bridge the big man, and go after one another. They try to keep Cassidy on the outside, but as he stirs they try and throw themselves at him.

Boston Knee Party from the apron to Cassidy, to neutralize the big man. Radio Silence attempt, missed, Avalanche Radio Silence also missed, Boston Knee Party to the back of the head and Eddie wins!

Overall Score: 7/10

Another solid episode that sets the stage for the big event or at least leads us to the final step. Eddie Edwards possibly getting a chance to close the Moose chapter would be a great first defense for Moose. Steve Maclin having a chance to insert himself into the X Division match will do wonders for the match itself. Lardeo’s Lucha and Trey’s flippy garbage need a more classic wrestler to act as the glue from spot to spot. The IInspiration manages to make the Knockouts Tag Division entertaining, so that’s new. The Good Brothers hopefully get wrecked by the new Bullet Club.

Let’s also not overlook Minoru Suzuki vs Josh Alexander. Alexander has been a walking MOTY machine, so I feel like this Suzuki match has a good chance at being surprisingly amazing for a TV match…or end in a way that gives us a rematch at Turning Point.

Anyway, IMPACT gives us another solid show with forward progress for all their storylines!
