Well, for the first time in a long time, I might have to do some Play By Play for Elevation! I mean, it’s a bit obvious Mercedes will retain, but I bet she and Trish Adora will have a really good title match. I might even give the first match of The Acclaimed & Gunn Club as an official faction a watch, just to see if they come up with new team-up moves.

Yo, listen! Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and the Ass Boys- er, Billy and his sons, are now a super group! And that means Platinum Max has a rap! “Acclaimed & the Gunns, it’s about to go down. Platinum Max, and I’m in my hometown!” Long Island fires up for that one! “Do y’all really have a shot? We’ll send you all packing like Barry Trots! And I’m bendin’ your jaw. I rearrange your face like Kendrick Lamar! You mess with us, that’s a bad choice. You’re getting beat by The Acclaimed & the Ass Boys!” When Bowens says “Ass,” y’all say “Boys!” “ASS!” “BOYS!” “ASS!” “BOYS!” Austin cuts in, “When I say ‘Gunn,’ y’all say ‘Club!’ Gunn!” “NO!” Oh…

Bowens says the fans don’t like that. But check it! “LOOOOONG ISLAAAAND! The Acclaimed have arrived!” But will the Acclaimed Ass Boys kick some ass here tonight?

The teams sort out, Caster starts against GKM and fans chant, “ASS~ BOYS!” Colten & Austin try to tune that out, but then Austin wants in. Caster tags in him and Austin then flips off GKM just to take back to Caster. Caster applauds the trolling and ties up with GKM. Caster wrenches, wristlocks, but Austin tags himself back in? Austin throws GKM down and asks, “Who’re the Ass Boys now?!” “YOU!” Austin whips GKM but GKM reverses. Austin ducks, dodges, Colten tags in, and Austin trips GKM! Austin YANKS Bryce off the apron, and Colten BLASTS Clayton and Chase off the apron!

Colten tags Caster back in, then he drags GKM up, COLT 45! Caster hits the MIC DROP! Tag to Bowens, he covers, Acclaimed Gunn Club wins!

Evil Uno & Preston Vance w/ The Dark Order VS VSK & Eric James!

Player One and Number 10 are in action together again against The Visionary and the One Man Boy Band! Will Uno & Vance start to climb the ranks of the AEW Tag Division here tonight?

The teams sort out and we start with James and Uno. James kicks but Uno blocks! Uno throws James down and stomps the hands! Uno bumps James off buckles, tags Vance, and Vance brings James up for a suplex. Vance holds James up for, that’s right! A count of 10! And then SLAM! Vance drags James away, tags Uno back in, and Uno brings James around to suplex! And because he’s Uno, it’s just a count of one. Uno drags James away to waistlock but James fights free. James PELES, tags VSK, and fans cheer for their hometown guy as he hits a slingshot senton! VSK stomps Uno around, fans rally, but Uno blocks him!

Uno spins VSK into a NECKBREAKER! Tag to Vance, he rallies on VSK and James! Vance then gets VSK for a BLUE THUNDER BOMB! James runs past Vance, wheelbarrows, but Vance holds him for Uno to HOTHOT into the GERMAN SUPLEX! VSK runs in, into a SPINEBUSTER! Vance gets fans rallying with “TEN! TEN! TEN!” then he tags Uno. Vance hauls VSK up with the full nelson, and he feeds VSK to Uno’s POWERBOMB! DARK RECKONING! Cover, Uno & Vance win!

ROH Women’s World Championship: Mercedes Martinez VS Trish Adora!

The OG Badass is the undisputed ROH Women’s World Champion after defeating and dethroning Deonna Purrazzo, but she isn’t going to rest easy. She wants to be a fighting champion, and she is giving a big opportunity to the #AfroPunk! Will Adora make the best of this opportunity? Or will Mercedes stay the new fighting champion?

The introductions are made, the title is raised, and it’s time for gold to shine in the dark!

The Code of Honor is upheld and the two circle. They feel out the grapple, tie up, and Mercedes wrenches to a wristlock, elbow breaker, then back to wristlock. Adora wrenches back, but Mercedes rolls and pushes Adora over to have a toehold. Adora pushes up to relieve pressure, she hooks with her free leg and gets a cover! ONE, Mercedes gets a facelock, but Adora wrenches out. Adora is after the wristlock, but Mercedes throws a body shot, wrenches to get the headlock and a takeover. Adora headscissors and holds tight. Adora pushes up and does push-ups to put pressure on Mercedes! Mercedes endures, but Adora gives her another set of push-ups.

Mercedes fights the headscissors, kicks around, gets up and hops around, then pops out to ROCK Adora with a right hand! Mercedes stands Adora up to ROCK her again, CHOP, and fire off forearms! Mercedes whips, Adora reverses and rolls with a bridge, TWO! Adora trips Mercedes, stump puller cradle, TWO! Adora wants the chicken wings but Mercedes stomps the foot. Mercedes puts Adora in a corner, fires off elbows, and fans rally up. Mercedes ROCKS Adora again, runs in but Adora dodges. Mercedes knees back, and she CLOBBERS Adora! Adora gets up but Mercedes keeps throwing clotheslines!

Adora gets up again, deflects the boot, but then Mercedes blocks Adora’s kick for an EXPLODER! Fans fire up and Adora gets to a corner. Mercedes runs corner to corner to forearm smash! Then she goes side to side for a BOOT! Adora sits down, Mercedes keeps going, DROPKICK! Mercedes drags Adora to a cover, TWO!! Adora survives and Mercedes is surprised, but she drags Adora into a seated cobra twist. Mercedes CLUBS Adora in the chest, then shifts her grip to have a modified dragon sleeper. Adora fights up, Mercedes shifts to a facelock, but Adora throws body shots. Adora wrenches, fires forearms over and over, then whips.

Mercedes reverses but Adora slips off the scoop. Adora ROCKS Mercedes then ENZIGURIS! Adora waistlocks, for a GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Mercedes survives and Adora is beside herself! Adora hurries to get the arm for a top wristlock. Mercedes endures, fans rally up and Mercedes fights to her feet. Mercedes slips around, fireman’s carries, but Adora slips off to shove. Mercedes spins Adora to a snap suplex! Una Amiga! Another snap suplex, Dos Amigas! Then THREE AMIGOS! Mercedes gets up again, but Adora fights the fourth! Mercedes throws body shots, puts Adora on the ropes, MAGIC SCREW!

Mercedes hooks up the legs, SLAPS Adora into getting those arms, and up we go into the DRAGON SLEEPER SURFBOARD! Adora taps, Mercedes wins!

Winner: Mercedes Martinez, by submission (still ROH Women’s World Champion)

The #BrassCitySleeper helps Mercedes win again, but Mercedes shows respect to Adora. The OG Badass still reigns, will she elevate this title and the ROH Women’s Division one battle at a time?

My Thoughts:

Good stuff from those matches, as expected for AEW, even here on Elevation. I think the best part of the 8 Man Tag was that Gunn Club did all the work, and then Bowens just covers. If that pattern continues, where Austin & Colten take the hits while The Acclaimed come in to take the win, I could see this faction breaking up pretty quickly. The Dark Order of course gets a win in the tag match after Alex Reynolds lost to Brody King. Still a shame Stu Grayson is out as of right now, but again that could change, just depends on how Stu feels about this. Uno & Vance were a good combo, though, and we’ll have to see what AEW sees for the Dark Order if titles in the future.

And speaking of titles, it was as I said earlier, Mercedes retained but it was a good match from Adora. Adora is considered signed to ROH so that’s part of why she got the match, I hope AEW/Tony Khan can get ROH their show soon so we can see Adora and a lot of other names get going in the division for more good matches like this.
