Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall
In Darby’s personal series with Swerve, he just got back-to-back wins! But wait, here comes Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The AEW World Champion has Triple B around his waist, and a mic in his hand. What will MJF have to say to this Young Pillar? We find out after the break.
AEW returns as MJF enters the ring.
And of course, he has them cut his music so he can talk. “Freaky Deaky Darby! Guys, I know you’re not very bright around these parts here in M-M-M-M-MID-waukee, but I’m holding the microphone, so shut it.” Darby already looks exasperated with MJF. MJF tells Darby, “I’ll give you credit where credit’s due, that was an incredible match. Everybody give it up for Darby Allin, huh?” Fans cheer because that much they can agree on. But MJF says it was especially impressive considering Daddy Sting wasn’t out here for Darbs. Truly inspirational.
“But of course it was great, because Darby Allin, you are in fact great. If anybody knows, it’s me. For crying out loud, at Full Gear 2021, I’m not afraid to admit it, me and you had one of the greatest matches in the history of professional wrestling. And I’m also not to admit it, yes, even though you’re a sh*tty little emo shmuck, pound for pound, you might be one of the best people I’ve ever stared across from the ring and that’s a fact. However, I’ve got two words to say that will prove unequivocally, that my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman,” and he tells the fans he’s sick of them doing his catchphrase so shut up!!
Fans boo more, but MJF tells Darby that those two words are “headlock takeover.” HAH! Right! Remember? He beat Darby with a move so simple, and yet Darby thinks he can take Triple B of him? MJF knows Darby is about as bright as everyone in this arena, meaning he most likely suffered 30 concussions, but Darby is NOT on the level of The Devil. Darby has a mic, and he asks MJF if he’s happy. What? Is MJF happy? Has anything MJF ever done in life made him happy? Darby met MJF six years ago wrestling in front of 30 people, and MJF always said, “The moment I make it to national television, all my problems will wash away.”
Well, MJF’s here. Nothing’s changed. He’s champion. Nothing’s changed. Darby was in MJF’s shoes. He thought that when he made it to national TV, he’d love life. So Darby chased the material things, but they’re just that: material. And they don’t mean a damn thing! In Darby’s first year at AEW, he checked himself into therapy because he refused to be the guy who seemed happy on the outside, but was dying on the inside. Fans cheer that, and Darby tells MJF he should try therapy some time, it’s beautiful. But the biggest thing Darby found out through therapy, it didn’t matter about his success, but about if his family and loved ones were living happy lives.
And so what did Darby do? He stopped thinking about “Me Me Me,” and started giving back. The money Darby’s made here, he bought his parents a new house, and helped his dad retire. And no, he doesn’t mean Sting, because Sting’s not his dad, he’s Darby’s best friend in the entire company. Fans cheer that! Darby tells Max that this is just a 15 minute ride, that’s all. And Darby refuses to get off the ride and then wonder, “Who’re all these random people I let into my life? Who’re all these people I have nothing in common with, let into my personal life?” Darby isn’t like MJF. He won’t lower his morals to be somebody in this world.
So if MJF has something to say, keep talking! Fans fire up for Darby and MJF is rather surprised. MJF asks Darby if he knows what he is. Darby is “an arrogant little boy.” Darby really thinks that Darby is special? That he doesn’t have to go through what people have been going through for decades in this sport to make it to the top? MJF is so sick and tired of Darby and Jack and Sammy whining about MJF’s “morals.” Morals kill careers in this sport, and that’s a fact! Darby stands here like he’s some sort of daredevil, but MJF thinks Darby is just a coward. Darby is a coward because he doesn’t have the balls to sacrifice what must be sacrificed.
Does Darby think MJF is an idiot? Does Darby think MJF isn’t aware that he’ll end up on his deathbed alone? That if there is an afterlife, that MJF won’t get into Heaven? MJF wants to make something clear to Darby: “I could give a sh*t.” Because as long as the title comes with him, that’s all that matters! That is the difference between MJF and the others! MJF is willing to do whatever it takes, but not Darby. No, no. Listen and listen good. “I am willing to do whatever it takes to leave a legacy in this sport, and by the time I am down, my legacy will read as follows: MJF, THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!”
Fans boo and Darby shakes his head. MJF says Darby can keep his morals, because Darby’s legacy will read: Darby Allin, STING’S B*TCH!! Darby frowns and fans boo, but wait! Here comes STIIIING! Fans fire up as The Icon walks down to the ring to join his protégé and MJF. Sting howls, fans echo it, and Sting circles around MJF. Sting tells Max that he wants to know what all this talk of Daddy Daycare and stuff is about. Sting wants MJF to know that offends him deeply. Sting isn’t really a daycare kind of guy. He’s more like a… Oh, let’s see… A cheerleader! Sting has a black ‘n’ gold pompom? And he bops MJF with it a couple times.
Y’know what, Max? Sting has a fever! And the only cure for that fever is more pompoms! He just keeps bringing out pompom after pompom and throws them all at MJF! Fans chant “POMPOM! POMPOM!” and MJF tells them to shut up. Sting says he must have offended MJF. But Sting will stop if MJF stops talking about this Cody Daycare stuff. Oops! Did he say Cody? He said CODY! And the truth hurts, doesn’t it!? Because MJF had a cheerleader, a support system, and Sting is the same for Darby, just as a young surfer Sting had a support system under the name Ric Flair. Fans “WOO~!” and Sting thanks “Slick Ric” for putting Stinger on the map.
Sting says from there, he evolved, we’ve got Crow Sting and Wolfpac Sting, Too Sweet. Love ya, Kevin. Love ya, Scott. And then it’s maybe a bit obvious, but Sting’s got a little Joker left in him. But what Sting doesn’t have is a hunger or thirst for this world title. “Let’s face it, I’m just gonna be real with everybody here, including you. Showtime is almost over.” MJF says duh. But showtime is just starting for DARBY! Sting tells MJF to mark his words, Darby WILL be AEW World Heavyweight Champion, that is a promise! IT! IS! SHOWTIME!! Darby tells MJF that this “fake, plastic world” is not taking Darby alive.
Darby is leaving the same person he came in, but also the man who ends the reign of terror to become the NEXT AEW World Champion!! Fans fire up again, but MJF SPITS on Darby! Then he runs away! Fans boo as the Devil of AEW is more like a chicken. Will Darby be the one to fry that chicken? Or will one of the other Young Pillars win the race to be #1 contender?
AEW TNT Championship: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs w/ QTV VS Silas Young!
The champ put out the challenge, and it has been answered by Milwaukee’s own! Will the Book of Hobbs add another victim to the list? Or will this chapter be written by the Last Real Man of Professional Wrestling?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see how this story continues!
The bell rings and Silas throws forearms! Fans fire up, Silas runs, but Hobbs CLOBBERS him! Hobbs fires up, brings Silas up and whips him to ropes, for the SPINEBUSTER! Fans boo as Hobbs stands over Silas. QTV cheer, Hobbs drags Silas up to a torture rack, then hits TOWN BIDNESS!! Cover, Hobbs wins!
Winners: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)
At least Silas is already home, so he won’t have to go far. But the TNT Champion completely conquers a former ROH World TV Champion. Will anyone ever stop the Book of Hobbs? Wait, QT Marshall drags Silas up the ramp! Fans boo, but then someone is on the tron. It’s Wardlow! He finds Hobbs’ car in the parking lot. He tells the attendant to run away, and so he does. Wardlow then tells Hobbs, “Nice car.” Wardlow has a pipe! He starts SMACKING and SMASHING and SCRATCHING it all up! Hobbs can only watch as his beloved Monstar Mobile is beat up! The windshield gets smashed by a stanchion!
But Wardlow isn’t done. He sees a FORKLIFT nearby! Milwaukee fires up as Wardlow gets behind the driver’s seat! Wardlow runs it right into the side! The forks stab through the window, then Wardlow lifts the car and tips it over! Wardlow even lets the forklift run into the car again! Hobbs is furious but the damage is done. Except, Hobbs still has Silas as his captive! And there are tables just off stage! Team QTV mocks the conducting as Hobbs brings Silas in, but Wardlow makes his way on stage!! Team QTV hurries away and Hobbs brawls with the War Dog! Fans fire up, Hobbs knees low, and the rest of the locker room hurries to stop this!
But then they all get tossed aside, too! Wonder if AEW Dark will take a hit because of this… Hobbs and Wardlow keep brawling, BJ Whitmer and Pat Buck walk out, but even they might agree with the fans, “LET THEM FIGHT!” Aaron Solo jumps on Wardlow, QT backs Hobbs down, but Wardlow SLAMS Solo down! BJ and Pat tell Wardlow not to, but fans are cheering for “WARD~LOW!” Wardlow sides with the fans, as he brings Solo up! POWERBOMB through the tables!! QTV might be without one of their reporters for a bit, but will Wardlow make sure Hobbs loses that title?
Jay White speaks.
“Some of the greatest professional wrestlers, if not the greatest professional wrestlers in history, have been members of Bullet Club. But there has been no duo greater than ‘Switchblade’ Jay White & Juice Robinson. King Switch and Rock Hard! Top shelf gunslingers! AKA, the Bang Bang Gang. We are Bullet Club high rollers!” Juice adds that last week, Ricky Starks got another ass kicking. And not just from Juice but from his good friend, King Switch. They’re just getting started here! Ricky bit off far more than he could chew. How’d that Bladerunner feel, by the way?
Jay tells “Mr. Absolute” that the Catalyst of Pro-Wrestling is here to claim what is rightfully his! This is only the beginning. This will be the greatest era of Bullet Club ever, because Jay & Juice are taking over AEW! This is Bullet Club Gold. Will BCG soon have some gold to go along with that?
AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy w/ Best Friends VS Buddy Matthews w/ Julia Hart!
The tables have turned on Freshly Squeezed! He and his Best Friends challenged for the AEW World Trios Championships but failed to take them. And now, the Aussie Juggernaut is after Cassidy’s title to add them to the House of Black’s collection! Will Buddy succeed where others have failed? Or will nothing break Cassidy’s fighting champion spirit?
The introductions are made, the International title is raised, and we see who has, uh, whatever!
The bell rings and fans rally for “Freshly Squeezed!” as he stares Buddy down. Cassidy decides to sit in his corner like Buddy does, but then Buddy stands. Cassidy stands, fans rally, and the two approach. Cassidy puts his hands up, but Buddy TOSSES him to a corner! Cassidy dodges, blocks a kick but Buddy boots Cassidy away. Cassidy comes back, Buddy goes up and over, but then Cassidy keeps moving. Cassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges and tilt-o-whirls to RANA Buddy out! Fans fire up, Cassidy fakes Buddy out, and sees the slide coming in. Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets! Fans fire up but Buddy swings on Cassidy!
Cassidy bobs ‘n’ weaves and SHOTGUNS Buddy out! Cassidy kips up, builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit at the ramp, and Cassidy puts Buddy back in fast. Cassidy goes up, leaps, but Buddy catches him! Buddy pops Cassidy up, but Cassidy RANAS him into buckles! Cassidy runs, another tilt-o-whirl, for the DDT! Cassidy kips up, takes aim, ORANGE PUNCH! But the bad hand hurts Cassidy!! Buddy rolls away to ropes while the ref checks Cassidy’s hand. Doc Sampson also comes over to check, did Cassidy do more damage to himself than he did to Buddy? The wrap is taken off, Cassidy moves his fingers, but Buddy storms over to STOMP the hand!!
Fans boo Buddy while Cassidy gets away. Cassidy checks his already damaged hand and AEW goes to picture in picture.
Buddy goes out after Cassidy, grabs that bad hand, and SLAMS it off steel steps! And again! And again! And again! The ref reprimands, Buddy lets off and backs away, bumping Doc Sampson as he goes. Doc checks Cassidy’s hand again, but Cassidy shakes his head. Cassidy doesn’t want this stopping the match but this could be playing right into Buddy’s hand. Trent & Chuck check with Cassidy but he tells them to stop worrying, he’s got this. Trent trusts Cassidy, but Buddy is right on that bad hand! He STOMPS it against the steel!! Cassidy writhes on the floor, but Buddy drags him up, just to stand on the hand, and STOMP it again!
Buddy drags Cassidy up to the corner, and he rips away the covering on a crossbar! Buddy puts the fingers in the gap and bends them!! The ref counts, Buddy stops at 4, but Cassidy again clutches his hand. Buddy climbs up the corner, and he stands on the hand on top of the crossbar! Cassidy can only endure, but Buddy lets off as the ref counts again. Buddy now drags Cassidy up, to dig the fingers deeper into the gap! The ref reprimands again, Buddy lets off, and Cassidy gets his hand free as Dynamite returns to single picture. Fans boo but Buddy’s game plan has gone perfectly so far, to Julia’s delight.
Fans rally up, Buddy BOOTS Cassidy on the apron! Buddy drags Cassidy into the ring, hoists him up top, and fires off forearms. Cassidy hits back! Cassidy adjusts, BOOTS Buddy, then leaps to BLOCK- NO! Buddy blocks the blockbuster! Cassidy slips free, runs, tilt-o-whirls, but Buddy blocks the DDT! Buddy suplexes, Cassidy knees free and whips Buddy out to the apron! Buddy swings, but Cassidy blocks to buckle bump! And then runs Buddy side to side to buckle bump again! And then back the other way! Fans fire up and Cassidy climbs the corner. Cassidy leaps, into a SUPERKICK!
Buddy catches his breath, but Cassidy SUPERKICKS back! Cassidy then runs in to tilt-o-whirl, but no DDT! V-TRIGGER! Cassidy wobbles, drops to the apron, and Buddy snarls. Buddy drags Cassidy up, but Cassidy Alabama Lifts! APRON BEACH BREAK!! Both men are down and out as fans lose their minds! The ring count climbs, Champion’s Advantage will favor Cassidy, but Julia shakes her head. The count is past 5 of 10, Buddy sits up at 7. We’re at 8 but no one is standing! The count is 9! Both men spring in at 9.5!! Fans fire up and both men crawl. They both head for each other, and Buddy throws a forearm!
Cassidy throws a forearm in return! Buddy throws another forearm! Cassidy throws another forearm in return! Buddy forearms, Cassidy forearms, repeat! Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, Freshly Squeezed survives! But will it be all for not if that bad hand keeps Cassidy out of action?
BREAKING NEWS for Rampage this Friday!
Rampage will be on at a special start time of 9:30 PM Eastern or immediately after NBA coverage on TNT.
AEW hears from Christian Cage.
Luchasaurus stomps bricks while Captain Charisma descends into the darkness. Christian stands with his Right Hand of Destruction, and says, “Some things have changed.” Does this mean it is only a matter of time before we see the landscape of AEW change with them?
Backstage interview with Best Friends.
Renee Paquette congratulates Cassidy on his win, but asks him about the hand. Trent says the hand is fine! Look at him! Cassidy is still the champ, he’s defending his title every week, and is on the title run of his life! “To be honest, makes the boys a little bit jealous.” Chuck says, “Speaking of titles, heard what happened in Japan. Aussie Open, IWGP Tag Team Champions. How ’bout you guys fly on over here to Milwaukee, and fight us Friday night on Rampage?” Fans like the sound of that! Hands in, boys. Oh, sorry. Renee subs in for Cassidy. On three, BOOM! Wait, there was no count. Well, that aside, will the NEW tag team champions accept the challenge?
Ethan Page is in the ring.
“Alright, listen up! Ethan Page and The Firm have hit a bit of a rough patch. Matt Hardy cracked me over the head with the FTW title and cost me the match! Hook beat the living crap out of Stokely Hathaway, and that man is still injured. And then there’s the whole contract situation. Literally, I have been a mess. I haven’t been able to tan, I haven’t gotten my hair cut. And yet, I woke up, I threw gel in my hair, and I look ten times better than all you disgusting Milwaukee hillbillies!” Fans boo but Ethan says this is how it’s gonna go. Ethan needs answers! He wants to know why Hardy hit him in the head with the title, and what exactly “that moron” put in the contract!
Ethan says Hardy still works for him, so Ethan demands answers, RIGHT NOW! And out come Isiah Kassidy & Matt Hardy! Kassidy says, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Nobody played you. You played yourself, my boy! And that’s facts.” Hardy tells Ethan that he’s been in wrestling a long time. He should know that you gotta read the fine print in any contract you sign. Yes, Hardy did manipulate Ethan to make him think they were best friends. Why? Because Ethan is the biggest “hole of the ass” Hardy’s met in his entire life! And Ethan treated Hardy & Private Party like trash. That’s why Hardy worked Ethan into signing the contract.
But does Ethan really wanna know what the contract said? YES! Well, it said that if Hook defeats Ethan Page, then #HardyParty is NO LONGER under The Firm! Fans cheer but Ethan tells them to shut up. And Hardy says the contract also gives Hardy permission to choose their next match, right down to location and stipulation. So here’s the stipulation: When #HardyParty wins, they will never be under contract with The Firm again! And that means finally getting away from Ethan and Stokely. Oh, that’s what Hardy wants? Very interesting. But here’s the thing. There’s more than just Ethan and Stokely in The Firm.
Morrissey & Moriarty CLOBBER Hardy & Kassidy from behind! Moriarty feeds Hardy to Ethan while Morrissey punches away on Kassidy! Fans boo, The Firm mugs #HardyParty! Moriarty DECKS Kassidy, stomps him in a corner, and then Morrissey feeds Hardy to Ethan. But here comes HOOK! The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil is here, and he TOSSES Moriarty! And he CLOBBERS Ethan! Hook dodges Morrissey, fires off hands, ROCKS Morrissey, but runs into a choke grip! But Hook just slips free to clinch! Only for Ethan to CLOBBER him from behind! The Firm now mugs Hook on top of #HardyParty!
WAIT! Here comes JEFF Hardy!! The Charismatic Enigma is back, and he even has a chair! Jeff JABS and SMACKS Ethan! Then JABS and SMACKS Morrissey! And JABS and SMACKS Moriarty! Morrissey runs in, but Jeff dumps him out! Then Jeff CHUCKS the chair at Moriarty’s face! Fans are thunderous and Jeff gives Moriarty a TWIST OF FATE! Jeff hurries up top, tears off his shirt, and aims for the SWANTON BOMB!! The fans are thunderous as the Hardy Boyz are reunited! Hook and Kassidy hug it out with Jeff, too! The Firm thought they had the numbers, but now they don’t! Will the #HardyParty finally be free of all that funny business?
Kenny Omega speaks.
“First, I wanna thank AEW for giving me the time to speak to you guys. I wanna thank you fans for your comments, your prayers, your support. I wanna thank the doctors for being so quick and on hand that day. It could’ve been much worse if you guys weren’t there to help us out. I speak to the Bucks almost every day. And we promised each other that this problem that you have with us, BCC, we would take care of it in the ring. I mean, we’ve all been here before. This is wrestling, these things happen, it’s commonplace. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. You wanna make a headline. We get it. You made the impact.
“But when you hurt Don, left in a pool of his own blood, with his skull split open, concussed, I take it personally. And I get it. He’s not the most likeable guy. You’re not gonna see his room filled with Get Well cards or flowers. But he’s still family. And when you mess with someone’s family, that’s when you cross a line. So I’d love to say now it’s blood for blood, but you guys probably wanna hear that. That’s music to your ears. So it’s not gonna be blood for blood. What I’m gonna do to you when I see you next is gonna be much worse. Much, much worse.” The Cleaner issues his warning, will the Blackpool Combat Club heed it?
Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli w/ Wheeler Yuta VS Brandon Cutler & Michael Nakazawa!
Speaking of the BCC, the Maniac & the Swiss Superman were called out as bullies by The Elite’s buddies, who are the only ones standing. Will Cutler & Nakazawa still be standing after this? Or will the Blackpool Combat Club have completely wiped out the Elite’s presence in AEW?
The BCC’s entrance happens picture in picture as they take their time moving through the crowd to ringside. Dynamite returns to single picture as Cutler & Nakazawa make their entrance. But then they get jumped at the ramp! Fans boo as Moxley & Claudio don’t wait! They drag Nakazawa up to POST him! Cutler is sent into railing! Moxley grabs a chair, JAMS Cutler with it again and again, then digs it into Cutler’s neck! Claudio dribbles Nakazawa’s face off the apron! Fans boo, but Claudio doesn’t stop! Cutler is sent into steel steps! Claudio shoves Nakazawa down, and Nakazawa is busted open!
Nakazawa sputters and flounders while his blood sprinkles the mat. Fans boo but the BCC soak up the heat. Somehow, Nakazawa drags himself up to the apron and into the ring. Moxley tells the fans not to change the channel, this isn’t over yet. The bell finally rings, Claudio kicks Nakazawa around, but fans rally up. Nakazawa stands to CHOP, but it doesn’t do anything! Claudio SLAPS Nakazawa, but Nakazawa throws forearms! Claudio eggs Nakazawa on, the forearms keep flying! Claudio ROCKS Nakazawa, but Nakazawa throws his shirt off! Nakzawa and Claudio throw forearms! Nakazawa ROCKS, CHOPS and repeat!
Fans fire up as Nakazawa backs Claudio down! Nakazawa CHOPS, fires up, runs, but into a LARIAT! And then the SWING!! Nakazawa endures as he goes around TEN times, and then his shoes fly off! Claudio steps through, SHARPSHOOTER!! But CUTLER returns! Cutler is also busted open, but he throws hands on Claudio! Claudio doesn’t even budge! Claudio TOSSES Cutler out, wraps Nakazawa up, but Nakazawa back drops Claudio away! Milwaukee is thunderous but Moxley tags in. Moxley sees Nakazawa crawl, hot tag to Cutler! The Bucks BLAST Claudio off the apron as Omega brings that into the ring. Omega grins, aims at Moxley, and runs in, but Matt stops him?
Fans boo but Matt says he has something better: the SCREWDRIVER! Just like the BCC did to Hangman, the Elite wants to do that to Moxley! Moxley SPITS at the Elite, so Omega says fine! But then Claudio drags Moxley to safety! The screwdriver stabs the buckle pad! The BCC get outta there, throwing drinks and other stuff at The Elite. What will it take to settle things between these two warring factions?
Backstage interview with The Mogul Embassy.
Tony Schiavone is with Swerve, Cage and Prince Nana, and he says they’re angry. Nana says, “Angry? Angry? Ain’t nobody angry over here, my friend. We’re actually very happy. Darby, you went out there and did everything that this man has taught you to do!” Swerve tells Darby that Darby’s success is a testament to Swerve’s legacy. Swerve created Darby! And they don’t even have the full Mogul Embassy here. See, the list of beef Swerve has in AEW is growing second by second, day by day. And uh, Swerve has an idea. He still has some scores to settle! They’ll get all that done! They’ll leave here with something! Is Swerve right? Nana says yes he is! #HoodiesUp!

Chris Jericho w/ Daniel Garcia VS Keith Lee!
The Wizard, Le Champion, The Ocho talked about Adam Cole disrespecting The Red Death in how he celebrated his return victory. However, the Limitless One sees Jericho doing nothing but disrespecting everyone he defeats. Will Keith humble the Demo God? Or will Jericho show that no one is limitless?
The bell rings and fans rally behind Keith. Jericho doesn’t like them singing, “OH~ Bask in His Glory~” but Keith revels in it. Keith and Jericho step up, and Jericho CHOPS! Keith nods, Jericho CHOPS again! And again! And again, and again, and then runs, into Keith’s shoulder! Jericho sits up in a daze, and Keith gives him a respectful kiss on the forehead. Swerve scores one for his vendetta against Keith! Garcia celebrates with Jericho, but here comes ADAM COLE, BAYBAY! Cole checks on his friendly rival in Keith, and fist bumps him over the effort. Cole and Keith start to leave, but then Cole looks back at Jericho like Jericho did Cole. Jericho didn’t learn humility or respect, he just got lucky. Jericho may not get respect, but will he get the fight with Cole that he wants?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, lots of great build in stories as well as great action. For one, great opener out of Darby VS Swerve, with AEW doing a good job tying stories together again. Darby wins but has a great promo segment with MJF and Sting to keep him truly on par with JB and Sammy. And then we saw Swerve’s promo with The Mogul Embassy to foreshadow Swerve’s interference in the main event. Jericho wins because of that, and good move to have Adam Cole show up to parallel Jericho coming out after Cole VS Garcia. They’re taking their time building to Cole VS Jericho but that’s fine, this will be a big part of Double or Nothing.
Silas getting squashed was a shame, he’s better than that. But I guess they needed to have time for Wardlow to smash up Hobbs’ car and then brawl with Hobbs. That powerbomb through the two tables was rough, though, because the second table didn’t break and Solo’s head clipped it. Hopefully Solo is okay. But Hobbs VS Wardlow is happening and it could go either way. Chances are, QT will try to interfere like he did the first time, Wardlow will destroy him, and he’ll still beat Hobbs to get himself back up. Let’s just not have Samoa Joe return again to try and get both television based titles. Someone new needs to get in the mix here already.
I was actually surprised they did both titles back to back. Cassidy VS Buddy was great stuff, especially with the story of Cassidy’s bad hand being the focus. Cassidy pulled it off, and I like Best Friends being bold in calling out Aussie Open. Best Friends won’t win but this will give Aussie Open a successful defense before facing a NJPW team. I just wish Rampage didn’t have to worry about basketball getting in the way. But whatever, Rampage is looking to be a really good show either way with that title match and a few other things. And we got another short promo from Christian and Luchasaurus. Christian being vague is fine, but I’m just assuming he and Luchasaurus are waiting for a title story to be clear. Honestly, have Luchasaurus go after Cassidy so that he’s being opportunistic.
Really good promo stuff from Ethan, Matt Hardy and Kassidy. Great brawl from The Firm and #HardyParty, with Jeff Hardy making a great return. Matt was a bit redundant saying this coming match is to undo the contracts with The Firm when that was part of the Hook thing. Or did he not explain clearly and Hook’s win was just to give Hardy Party a match against The Firm to then fight to get out of contract? Well, anyway, Matt gets to choose, and I’m pretty sure we’re getting Ethan, Morrissey, Moriarty and possibly Stokely against Hook, the Hardy Boyz and Kassidy. And if that’s the case, can we get “The Firm Deletion” as a cinematic match?
Good promo from Jay White and Juice Robinson, but it feels like they’re ignoring what is going on in NJPW in regards to the Bullet Club stuff. David Finlay more or less kicked White out of the Club to take over, and then he got Taiji Ishimori and Kenta on his side to do the same to El Phantasmo. ELP either joins forces with Tama Tonga & Hikuleo, or ELP joins White and Juice so that Bullet Club Gold VS Rebel Club is a proper Bullet Club Civil War. But first thing’s first, Jay & Juice are taking on Starks, and maybe Starks gets a teammate. It should be Action Andretti since Action faced Juice and also stuck with Starks through the JAS story.
Really good stuff out of the Women’s Division. Really good match for Outcasts VS Riho & Skye, and the usual numbers game helped The Outcasts win. And good brawl with Outcasts, Hayter & Britt. That’ll be a good tag match, and at this point, the pacing is fine since we have to get to Double or Nothing with this. And in parallel, great stuff out of BCC VS Elite. For one, fans got behind Cutler & Nakazawa hard as they valiantly fought through getting all bloody. But of course, the BCC won out and beat those guys down. And good fake-out in the promo from Omega, The Elite showing up was a great surprise. And that screwdriver attack attempt was a nice detail. In both cases, these have to be Blood & Guts matches to make Double or Nothing 2023 the biggest yet.
My Score: 8.8/10

MJF arrives backstage.
Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!

At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. Winner: Will Ospreay, by submission
That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.
Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?
BREAKING NEWS for next week!
If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!
Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.
Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?
AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!
Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?
Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!
With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Julia tags Skye, then tag back to Thekla. The Sisters of Sin hit the DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Thekla hits the bridge, and she aims for the SPIDER SPEAR! Winners: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds, by disqualification
The Toxic Spider doesn’t care about this win, she just wants to do damage! Skye gets Windsor in a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ref stops Thekla from sing the title belt again, so Thekla just takes off her own belt! And she LASHES Windsor while Skye holds her down! More refs rush out here, but Julia MISTS the newbie in the face! Julia stomps away on Jamie, not caring about fines or consequences, either! The fans boo, and Shida is bailing on the Birds? Shida cares more about her chances in that Fatal 4 Way than anything else. But then Willow, Mina, and even Thunder Rosa rush out here! They chase The Triangle off with belts of their own!
The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!
They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?
The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!
Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.
Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.
Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!
The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.
Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!
The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!
The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!
The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!
Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10

Talk about a handicap! Callis AND Ricochet gave Davis quite a considerable one, and now Davis has his first singles title in AEW! The Jurassic Express National Tour has just been run off the road, but will Jack be able to get his revenge?
Collision returns, and Jack Perry is on the phone.
He tells someone, “Let’s do it. Thank you, guys.” Jack ends his call, then shows his frustration. Winning the National Championship in his hometown, in front of his friends and family, was one of the proudest moments of his entire life. And yet Ricochet and Callis had to end that for him. But he happens to know that Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate are looking for two more partners for Stadium Stampede. And Jack go to thinking, the show is called Double or Nothing. So how about instead of two, Jack brings FOUR! The ELITE! Jack, The Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! See you there. Ricochet may have just messed himself over, will he regret ever getting involved tonight?

Well, given the way Ricochet just used that golf club, the National Champion will gladly stand beside him!

Callis says yes, let’s go have a drink at the 19th Hole and talk about which of the many members of the Don Callis Family are going to join Ricochet in the slaughterhouse! Ricochet says oh yes, so many great choices to choose from! Callis & Ricochet head out, just how massive will this Stadium Stampede match get?
AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator: The Divine Dominion VS Ruthie Slay & Rachel Ley!
Megan Bayne & Lena Kross are so dominant, they don’t even think this match is going to last five minutes! But while there’s a time limit, will there be no limit to how devastating the Megasus & Aussie Amazon can be? Or will Slay & Ley manage to survive the day?

Two minutes and 15 seconds is all Slay & Ley got, will any team last even that long? Or will the Divine Dominion continue to dominate AEW until the end of time?
BREAKING NEWS for Double or Nothing!
The Triangle of Madness may have misted Persephone and injured Alex Windsor, but that only heaps on more trouble for the champion! Thekla must now defend her AEW Women’s World Championship in a FATAL 4 WAY! Thekla VS Jamie Hayter VS Kris Statlander VS Hikaru Shida, is The Toxic Spider about to get squashed? Or will she need her Sisters of Sin now more than ever?
BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!
The annual tradition is back! The 2026 Owen Hart Memorial Tournament begins, with the brackets for both men’s and women’s divisions to be announced on Wednesday! Who makes the cut? And who will become the King & Queen of Harts?
Don Callis speaks, again.
“Just moments away from the AEW World title match between Darby Allin and Pac, and gentlemen, just wanted to let you know that the Don Callis Family, no matter who wins tonight, the Don Callis Family will be waiting for the winner. This Wednesday on Dynamite, the Don Callis Family will take the AEW World title from one of you. And y’know, it’s already been a great night, a big night, for the Don Callis Family! We won gold, but can’t wait to get some more. And on the subject of that, Okada has had to go to Japan to take care of some very important family business. But don’t worry, lads, because I have someone in mind to take his spot this Wednesday in the world title match.
“And it is none other than the firstborn of the Don Callis Family, Konosuke Takeshita, The Alpha!” Takeshita steps in, and Callis tells him, “You’re gonna be the world champion! If you listen to me like you always have, you will be successful, and you will finally fulfill the destiny that I had for you when I plucked you out of obscurity and made you the replacement for Kenny Omega. You’re the best wrestler in the world when you’ve got my game plan in your head. Go win the title.” Konosuke tells Don that he was going to take the International Championship, but now he is the person who will bring the world title back to the Don Callis Family! Unlike Okada.
Takeshita heads out, will he still make himself a double champion when he adds #PrettyPlatinum to the NJPW World Television Championship?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS Kiran Grey!
This match was on standby in case the Divine Dominion didn’t need all five minutes of their time, and now it’s a chance for Speedball to shine! But will he keep his momentum going from last Wednesday’s super show? Or will he get lost in the Grey Area?
Grey is already starting trouble as he pushes Bailey. The ref backs him off, then the bell rings. Grey runs up, but into a BOOT! Bailey then PENALTY KICKS, STANDING KNEE-SAULT, then Bailey waits on Grey. Grey ducks the buzzsaw and bails out! The fans boo but Bailey TRIANGLE JUMP MOONSAULTS! Down goes Grey and the fans fire up! Bailey daps it up with The Jet, then he climbs up the corner. But Grey goes after him! They brawl up top, Grey fires a flurry, but Bailey fires back! Bailey SHOVES Grey down, takes aim, but Grey hits the ropes! Bailey is tripped up onto his speedballs, but Grey dribbles him off the buckles!
Grey CLUBS Bailey into a Tree of Woe, then soaks up the heat before he stomps Bailey! Grey tells Bailey to stay down but Bailey grabs that leg! Bailey uses that to drag himself back up, and he ROCKS Grey again! Bailey dribbles Grey off buckles, then HEADBUTTS him! Grey falls, Bailey takes aim, ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!
Winner: “Speedball” Mike Bailey, by pinfall
A fast win for Speedball, and Knight gets the mic. he says he likes that! Speedball is red hot right now. And though The Jet didn’t get two belts on Wednesday, he’s still the Face of TNT. Now, the future of AEW is wide open, so why not they make it to the top together? They shake hands on it, will JetSpeed shift gears to become a Two Man Power Trip? What belt(s) will they aim for next?
AEW World Championship No Count Outs Match: Darby Allin VS PAC!
Anticipating how wild this one can get given the nature of their grudge, AEW decided to remove some of the obstacles standing in their way. They can’t do anything they want, but they can definitely go anywhere they want here in the SoFi Center! But will Darby even up the career series between them? Or will it be 3-1 in favor of The Bastard?

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Pac said it himself, Darby is the indestructible boy! But can Darby keep this up? Or will The Alpha come through on his promise and bring this title back to the Don Callis Family this Wednesday?
My Thoughts:
A great hour of AEW here as this special edition of Collision, though “Fairway to Hell” is such a random thing to begin with. They must’ve made a business deal with SoFi and TGL, which to me might be more AEW helping TGL get noticed on a national scale. And changing the status quo with the National Championship was quite the surprise, but that’s still great for Davis. Ricochet being the reason why, and then that compelling The Elite jumping into Stadium Stampede is a bit convoluted. I get they’re using continuity of how Kenny hates Callis and vice-versa, but it undercuts what I was hoping for in Hurt Syndicate getting to introduce new members. But hey, 7v7 is pretty wild, too.
I appreciate Divine Dominion adding something to their squash matches with that five minute goal. Slay & Ley already set a good time with over two minutes, and I’m sure two minutes will be the average as they just dominate all summer. And it seems Alex Windsor is gonna be out a little longer than expected, given that adjustment for Double or Nothing. A Fatal 4 Way is still good for how Thekla can use her challengers against each other, or be protected in a loss if they choose. It also helps bring in the Shidalander story, but it also feels like we’re skipping chapters. That Fatal 4 Way can probably get us to the team breaking up and Shida turning on Statlander for their own feud.
Bailey VS Grey probably was a legit standby match, that went quick. And Knight had a decent promo saying he and Bailey are still gonna be JetSpeed going for all the gold. Not sure if that comes true or just sets things up for the team to fall apart. And then a really wild main event with the “No Count Out” match. They probably could’ve just called that No Holds Barred but they wanted to add heat on how The Death Riders were cheating the second half of that match. Both table spots were risky, but obviously Darby did the crazier one. AEW really needs to be careful not to push it much further than that, though.
Then the news of Okada being out for Dynamite, hopefully it’s nothing too tragic with his family. But Takeshita as the substitute is a good choice, this helps build the Okada VS Takeshita match at the same time as building Darby up. Pretty sure MJF accepts the terms of Title VS Hair, and it’d be very MJF if he were to announce that while attacking Darby to close the show on Wednesday.
My Score: 8.8/10
