Christian Cage watches backstage as his Right Hand of Destruction stands over the TNT Championship’s #1 contender. Captain Charisma told Darby to clear out his distractions, and then takes advantage of them, where will the hypocrisy end?
Backstage interview with Britt Baker.
Renee Paquette is with The Doctor and notes that the AEW Women’s World Championship Tournament is underway, the four opening round winners going on to All In to compete for the title. And Britt will face The Bunny, so how does she feel about that? Britt says she once considered Bunny a friend, and still respects Bunny, and has seen Bunny work her tail off every single week rehabbing to get back in the ring. Unfortunately, Britt has to be the Big Bad Bully and rain on the comeback parade. There is no way anyone is getting in Britt’s way of the historical event that is All In at Wembley Stadium.
And Renee, just imagine the spectacle it will be when Britt holds the AEW Women’s World Championship high and 80 THOUSAND fans say along with her… “Dr. Britt Baker, DMD!” Britt is ready for Wembley, but is she overlooking The Bunny?
AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy VS Johnny TV w/ Team QTV!
Freshly Squeezed had a rough go of it last week on Rampage when he and Best Friends failed to stop the Blackpool Combat Club in the Parking Lot Brawl. But will this week be even worse when taking on the Star of QTV? Or can Cassidy cancel the Johnny International Show?
Harley Cameron makes her way out first, and says, “Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. HIT MY SPOTLIGHT!” The music starts and Harley sings for Johnny’s entrance. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Cassidy adds to his record-setting reign!
The bell rings and fans rally for Cassidy as he circles with Johnny. Johnny moves around a lot but Cassidy just stays put. Then he puts his hands in his pockets! Johnny sweeps around but Cassidy dodges, ducks, and dodges again to no-hands arm-drag! And then he hurdles! Monkey flip! Kip up! Fans fire up while Johnny bails out and throws a fit. QTV calms Johnny down then they huddle up to talk strategy. The ring count is climbing, QTV breaks, and Cassidy watches them all flank the ring. Harley gets on the apron to distract the ref but Cassidy keeps his eyes on the others. QT, Solo and Johnny step in but then Cassidy just turns the ref around!
Fans cheer as the ref catches QT & Solo red handed! The ref tells QT, Solo AND Harley that they are EJECTED! Fans fire up as things are now truly 1v1! QT, Solo & Harley all leave and fans sing “Hey hey hey, goodbye~!” But wait! WHEELER YUTA appears!? Cassidy is distracted, and Johnny hits a FLYING CHUCK! Direct hit and Johnny covers, TWO!! Johnny then drags Cassidy up, puts him back in the ring, and he grounds ‘n’ pounds! Cover, ONE, but Johnny shifts around to throw more forearms! ARMBAR! Winner: Orange Cassidy, by pinfall (still AEW International Champion)
19-0 in 2023, 28-0 as champion! Yuta stands up off commentary and wants a “closer look.” Freshly Squeezed is a fighting champion, but does The Decoder want his shot at that title? Cassidy gets a mic to tell Yuta, “Hey! Hey! What’s taking you so long? I know you can walk faster than that. Get to this ring so I can punch your face in!” Yuta says okay then. Yuta picks up the pace, but wait! Here comes Moxley & Claudio! The BCC was lying in wait! They already took out Trent & Chuck, is Cassidy the last piece of Best Friends they need to remove? Cassidy is ready for a fight, but then The BCC just regroups at the ramp.
Yuta has a mic to tell Cassidy, “You know just as well as I do that the BCC could get in that ring right now and make sure you leave Columbus in an ambulance! But I’ll be honest, I think that’s a little bit beneath us at this point. I think that’s a little bit beneath the Blackpool Combat Club, and most importantly, what would that accomplish, right? You’re the guy who doesn’t care about anything. And I don’t just wanna hurt you physically, I wanna hurt you deep down inside, emotionally. I wanna hurt you mentally, I wanna take… the only thing that you actually care about. So next week in Nashville, put that International Championship on the line, and I’ll walk out with it.”
Fans boo but the challenge has been issued. Will The Decoder break Cassidy’s golden record in Music City?
AEW takes a closer look at the ROH World Tag Team Championships.
Ian Riccaboni says that for almost 21 years now, “the ROH World Tag Team Championships have had the amazing distinction of being interchangeable at the top of the card with the ROH World Championship. And it started out from day one. Christopher Daniels & Donovan Morgan, The Prophecy, won the championships in September of 2002. From there, it was a tag team renaissance with teams like Kevin Steen & El Generico, The American Wolves, The Kings of Wrestling, the record-setting Briscoe Brothers. 13 reigns, and the most days as champions of any teams. OGK, reDRagon, The Young Bucks, the Motor City Machine Guns, and even The Hardys.
“And the inclusion of the Hardys is super important because it showed that ROH had become a destination for tag team wrestling in the professional wrestling world.” Some of the most gruesome matches have also been for these titles. Just last year, FTR VS Briscoes, Double Dog Collar Tag Team Match, Final Battle. That is in Ian’s opinion, THE greatest match in ROH history. But it is interesting that some of the greatest singles wrestlers in ROH history have opted to challenge for the tag titles. AJ Styles, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson. In many cases, the sums of the parts are greater than the whole, but nothing beats the “well-oiled machine” teams like Lucha Brothers, FTR, Aussie Open, and of course, The Briscoes.
Aussie Open VS The Outrunners!
Speaking of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis are ready to show us all they aren’t just one of those “well-oiled machines,” but that they are the best tag team in the world today! Will the Aussie Arrow & Dunkzilla do just that here? Or will Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd show they’re the future of tag team wrestling by channeling the past?
The teams sort out and Davis starts against Turbo. Fans rally up and Turbo does a very Macho Man spin, but Davis BOOTS him down! Then Kyle flies in to GAMANGIRI Truth! Aussie Open double whip Turbo, DOUBLE ELBOW him down, then PENALTY KICK and SENTON! Truth runs in but Aussie Open give him a DOUBLE FLAPJACK! Davis clotheslines Truth out, Kyle does the same to Turbo! Then Aussie Open goes out after them, fans join in on “AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!” “OI OI OI!” They pick up one Outrunner each, run around the way, and meet with a SPINEBUSTER SANDWICH!
Fans fire up as the United Empire throws the crowns up. Davis puts Turbo in, drags him up, and CHOPS him! Turbo sputters, Davis bumps him off buckles, and CHOPS again! Tag to Kyle, and he feeds Turbo to a fireman’s carry! Truth saves Turbo, runs in, but into a HIDDEN GAP SUPERKICK! A shot at Bishamon? But then Davis fireman’s carries Truth, Kyle takes aim, sign Truth up for the AUSSIE DENTAL PLAN! Then Davis scoops Truth again, Kyle goes up, FLYING LAWN DART CUTTER! Tag back to Davis and Turbo staggers up. The elbow pads come off, for the CROSS BOMBER! And then COREALIS!! Cover, Aussie Open wins!
Winners: Aussie Open, by pinfall
The Outrunners could NOT outrun what was coming, nor could they survive it! Aussie Open gets the mics and Davis says, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, Maxwell! Maxwell & Lil’ Adam! You guys wanna run around for five weeks, holding hands, doing double clotheslines, and think that you have what it takes to call yourselves a professional wrestling tag team?” Fans chant for “DOUBLE CLOTHESLINES!” Kyle says, “Max, Adam, the only reason these people care about you is because they are waiting for the inevitable MJF backstab. So you want to challenge us to a match for these in the UK? Which compared to Australia, is practically a third-world country.”
But they want a shot in the Zero Hour before competing in the main event of THE BIGGEST professional wrestling show in history? Davis says tell ’em! Kyle says, “WE ACCEPT! And we will walk out still the ROH World Tag Team Champions, because we’re Aussie Open, and we RUN! THE! WORLD! AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!” “OI OI OI!” And so it is official! MJF & Cole get their shot at becoming champions together, but will they fall short against the well-oiled machine?
Jeff Jarrett speaks.
“AEW, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game is coming to Dynamite this week. That’s right, ol’ Double J and AEW Business Development, with my man, Slick Nick Sobits, and of course alongside the Top Dog himself, Tony Khan, what a whopper of a sponsorship deal we have this week. The first-ever Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch Championship! And y’know, rumor has it, that everyone’s favorite anti-hero, Leatherface, just might be in the house. It’s gonna be none other than The Last Outlaw himself, Jeff Jarrett, taking on Mr. Extreme, Jeff Hardy! You bring your crew, I’m bringing my crew. The rules to a deathmatch are there are no rules!
“Jeff Hardy, the Last Outlaw is gonna leave you with one final word: I’m taking you out.” It is the battle of Jeffs at Fight for the Fallen, who will survive this horror movie wrestling mash-up?
BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite: Fight For the Fallen 2023!
On top of Jeff Jarrett VS Jeff Hardy in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Match, the International Championship is officially on the line as Cassidy defends against Yuta! Will the BCC build up its gold treasury? Plus, MJF & Adam Cole will further discuss their plans for All In now that they also have the ROH World Tag Team Championship match in the All In Zero Hour! Will they be able to hold it together with so many forces trying to pull them apart?
Mark Henry welcomes us back to the show.
Tonight, Saraya and Skye Blue battle to determine who moves on to All In’s AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way. It’s TIME for the main event!

Saraya leaves Skye behind, argues with the ref, and that allows Storm & Soho to stomp away on Skye! They scurry away and Saraya goes back out to drag Skye up. Saraya RAMS Skye back into the railing, and then brings her around to POST her! Skye flops against the apron but Saraya stalks her. Saraya stomps Skye, slides back into the ring, and she again distracts the ref so Soho & Storm can stomp Skye some more!
Storm stands on Skye a few extra seconds before scurrying away again. Saraya goes out to fetch Skye, and she drags her up into a chinlock. Skye fights with body shots, ROCKS Saraya with forearms, but Saraya BOOTS her down! Fans rally but Saraya HEADBUTTS Skye down, too! The Outcasts stomp away on Skye and fans boo, Storm venting all her frustrations through her fists! Saraya applauds while the fans boo, and no one shows up to stop them. Will nothing stop The Outcasts from taking the title when they have 50-50 odds?
My Thoughts:
A really good Rampage, with great story development towards not just All-In but the weekly TV. I was really surprised neither Darby VS Cage or the International Championship match were in the first half of the night, but we’ve been seeing AEW sorta kinda technically prioritize the women’s division by making their one match a show into the main event. However, I feel like they could’ve made an exception this time as I figured Saraya was of course going to win and of course do it by cheating. Saraya is gonna be the hometown, well, Heel, I suppose, and she and Storm will certainly work together the entire match. Britt had a good promo to hype up her match with Bunny, and I would think Britt wins that. We might even get a tag match on the go-home Dynamite.
Speaking of Darby, great opener from him and Cage. Great win for Darby, and Luchasaurus attacking was unexpected. But what was that soap opera soft lighting filter as Christian Cage as he was watching that? It was so weird. I mean, it looked nice but still. And also, the tag team match being upgraded to a TAG TEAM CASKET MATCH is awesome, but that almost has to mean Darby & Sting win, right? Though it would be great stuff if Swerve & Fox won, putting Darby & Sting in the coffin(s), and then we get an epic return from them in time for Full Gear and an even wilder rematch.
Great International Championship match, Johnny is so smooth in the ring, but nice little detail of Yuta showing up. Cassidy beating Johnny was expected, but I like that it has lined up that Cassidy’s 20th match this year is Yuta. And then it being the 29th defense, I feel like Cassidy wins that to then have like Jon Moxley be his 30th defense for All In or All Out. Make it All Out, as All In is already pretty stacked. Speaking of, Aussie Open of course win here tonight, and of course they accept the tag title challenge for the Zero Hour. Great ROH World Tag Team Championship history vignette, too, and with The Kingdom getting in on the story, they surely cost Cole & MJF.
And uh, what an odd match in the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch,” Jeff Jarrett VS Jeff Hardy. I mean, it’s not like AEW hasn’t done odd brand integrations before. Or WWE for that matter. And a Deathmatch of Jarrett and Hardy is still an awesome idea. Jarrett even said to go ahead and bring everyone, so Hardy Party and Triple J are basically having a blowoff through this match, with only the Jeffs able to end it with a pinfall or submission. For being based on a slasher movie, this might actually be a lot of fun.
My Score: 8.6/10
