The last time these two teams met, there was some, uh, controversy. Marq Quen held onto ropes in a pin, but he claims it was an accident. Will it be no accident when Darius & Dante Martin bring down Quen & Kassidy? Or will Private Party be having a party down on Bourbon Street later tonight?

The teams sort out, Dante starts against Quen while the fans rally and duel. Quen & Zay soak it all up and then Quen ties up with Dante. They go around, Quen headlocks but Dante powers up and out. Things speed up, Quen rolls then does his “Shots! Shots!” dance. Dante shoves Quen, runs in, but Quen hurdles. Dante shoves Quen again, then hurdles, drops under, and Quen leaps over. They keep moving, and Dante CHOPS! Dante UPPERCUTS Quen to the corner, runs in to forearm, then tags in Darius. Top Flight double whip Quen to sweep the legs, roll and wrench, to DOUBLE KICK! Fans fire up while Quen writhes. Darius covers, ONE!!

Darius keeps on Quen with another CHOP, but Quen ROCKS Darius! Quen runs, but Darius CHOPS again! Darius brings Quen around, tags in Dante, and they whip. Quen reverses but Darius reverses back to atomic drop! Dante sweeps the legs for Darius to DDT Quen down! Dante covers, TWO! Fans rally while Dante clamps on a top wristlock. Quen endures, fights up, but Dante facelocks. Dante brings Quen over, tags Darius, and Top Flight mugs Quen. They double whip and pop Quen up but he uses that to DOUBLE DROPKICK! Fans fire up while all there are down! Quen crawls his way over, hot tag to Brother Zay!

Zay rallies on Darius with big clotheslines! “Can I get a HAHN YEAH~?” “HAHN~ YEAH~!” Zay whips, Darius reverses, but Zay slides out, going up and over Dante! Dante pops Zay up to the apron, but Zay RAMS into Darius! Zay mule kicks Dante, GAMANGIRIS Darius, then QUEBRADAS Dante! The fans fire up and high-five Zay, and Zay borrows a fan’s foam crown! Zay hurries to slingshot and DIAMOND DUST on Darius! Cover, TWO! Zay is feeling like it’s Mardi Gras already and the fans are with him! Tag to Quen, Private Party double whips to atomic drop and ENZIGIRI! Leg sweep and Camel Clutch, for the LEAP FROG STOMPS!!

Fans fire up and Private Party revels in it. Action & Dante coach Darius, Quen stomps Darius around and Zay makes sure the crown goes back to the fan. Quen knees Darius, DECKS Dante, but Darius waistlocks. Quen switches, O’Conner Rolls, but Action spots the rope holding! The ref reprimands Quen, fans boo, and Action argues with Quen. The ref has to keep Action out of the ring, though, but Darius rolls Quen up! TWO!! Quen escapes, BOOTS Darius, and Rampage goes picture in picture.

Quen brings Darius over to bump off buckles, then he tags Zay. Zay stomps a mudhole in, as does Quen. The ref reprimands and counts, Quen lets off but Zay keeps going. Zay does the kick step, and then he drags Darius up. Darius ROCKS Zay! And DECKS Quen! But Zay CLOBBERS Darius, then goes up to rain down fists! The ref counts but so do the fans, and Zay goes all the way to TEN! Darius staggers, Zay tags Quen, and then Zay snapmares Darius for Quen to slingshot SENTON! Quen keeps Darius from Dante, knees him low, then puts him on ropes. Quen winds up to CHOP! Darius staggers but Quen keeps on him.

Quen stands Darius back up to CHOP again! Rampage returns to single picture, and Quen stands Darius up for a forearm. Tag to Zay, and Private Party double whip, only for Darius to KICK Zay and TOSS Quen! Darius ELBOWS Zay away, then uses the corner for the WALL KICK! The fans fire up as both men crawl, but Zay anchors Darius’ foot! Darius kicks and kicks until he’s free, hot tag to Dante! Dante rallies on Zay with big forearms! Dante whips, Zay reverses but then Dante slips out, Zay only gets buckles! Dante then goes up and around, ENZIGIRIS, then he goes up to CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO!!

Dante keeps his cool as he drags Zay back up. Tag back to Darius, he and Dante stomp then reel Zay in. They double suplex but Zay knees free! Zay fires off forearm son them both, and fans chant “SHOTS! SHOTS!” Zay fires up, runs, but Dante follows! Dante dodges Zay’s lariat, then gets a boost from Darius to go up and over! ASSISTED- NO, Zay fights free of the tornado! Dante full nelsons but Zay BOOTS Darius away! Zay ELBOWS Dante, arm-drags him away, then runs up. Dante blocks the kick, spins Zay, but then ducks, so the DRAGON WHIP hits Darius! Dante SUPERKICKS Zay then reels him in.

Dante whips but Quen is there, he helps Zay pull off the SILLY STRING! Tag to Quen and fans fire up as he climbs! SHOOTING STAR!! Cover, Darius STOMPS it apart! The fans fire up and Zay hurries back in. Zay fires hands on Darius, whips, but Darius reverses, to STANDING SPANISH FLY! The fans fire up while Zay bails out. Darius builds speed to DIVE! Darius & Dante have their payback, but that puts these teams at 1-1! The Martins offer handshakes of respect, but Private Party pat them on the head. Will we still see a tiebreaker sooner rather than later?

Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.

Renee Paquette is with the Spanish God and says it is great to see him back again. He hadn’t been back since that gnarly Street Fight where Le Sex Gods almost became AEW World Tag Team Champions. How is he feeling now, and what is the plan for what’s next? Sammy says losing always sucks, but this loss was different. Maybe because of how close they were to winning the tag titles, titles Sammy & Jericho were chasing since 2019. Or maybe it’s because how it isn’t just about Sammy anymore. He has a baby girl that depends on him, depends on her dad, to provide a better future for her.

So those championships don’t just represent being the best, they represent a better life and more opportunities. Will Hobbs & The Don Callis Family, they took that from Sammy! From Sammy’s wife and Sammy’s daughter, from Sammy’s family! So now this is personal. So guess what? Sammy is medically cleared, but he isn’t waiting for a match. Hobbs, watch out. You don’t know where and you don’t know when, but Sammy IS coming after you! When and where will the Powerhouse feel the wrath of the Spanish God?

Well, Jeff is a TWO-TIME Hall of Famer and a TWELVE-TIME World Champion. He ain’t getting in the ring today. But Lethal finally arrives, is glad to see them all, and has some great drills for them to go over. Wait, why is Sonjay still in his suit? Uh, well, he also has his glasses, he isn’t working out today. But uh, Karen’s got her Lulu Lemons on, she can work out. She’s not working out! But she DID narrow down the team name ideas, AND scheduled a photoshoot!

Jeff says that’s good, and Lethal says fine, whatever. What about big man Satnam? No, he is the undefeated one here. Lethal needs to work out given how he lost all his Continental Classic matches. Karen and Sonjay finally agree on something: they tell Satnam that it’s too soon to joke about that. Lethal says fine, no team practice. But Jeff says that is the problem! He is sick of this! Lethal is the weak link, because he’s too damn nice! What brought them together is that they were both “no good, worthless, ruthless sons of b*tches.” That’s what they gotta get back to! Jeff’s running things next week, and he’ll tell you boys when and where.

Double J leads the way out, and Karen does admit, Lethal’s a nice guy. Does Lethal have no choice but to find that gritty, scummy side again if he wants to make this work? Does he want to make this work?

AEW World Tag Title Eliminator: Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey VS John Silver & Alex Reynolds w/ Evil Uno!

Even though the Absolute and Human Skyscraper are set to defend these belts in Phoenix, Arizona against number one contenders, Darby Allin & Sting, they’re looking to warm-up for that match against the number two contenders. Will The Dark Order finally return to former glory by grabbing up some golden tickets? Or will Starks & Bill prove they’ve got this in the bag?

Speaking of Darby, he’s on commentary here for this one, to keep a close eye on Starks & Bill. Darby says he wants this to be about respect, but reiterates from Wednesday that that’s not how Starks sees it. Starks just wants to use Sting as a stepping stone and that is blasphemy. At the same time, it’s hard to say Starks even cares about Bill, Starks probably only cares about himself. The sooner Bill figures that out, the better. That aside, the teams sort out and fans cheer as hometown hero Ricky starts, only to get jumped by both Silver & Reynolds! Reynolds also ROCKS Bill, Evil Uno anchoring the big man from the outside!

Fans boo as Silver & Reynolds mug Starks but Bill kicks Uno away! Bill storms in but the ref says no, this match has begun already. Silver KICKS away on Starks against ropes, then tags Reynolds. Reynolds UPPERCUTS Starks, looms over him, then scuffs him. Reynolds drags Starks up but Starks throws body shots and CHOPS! Reynolds knees low, reels Starks in and suplexes. Starks slips free, O’Conner Rolls but Silver tags in! Silver drags Starks in to then POWERBOMB onto Reynolds’ knees! Cover, TWO! Starks survives and the fans rally up but Silver reminds us, “I’m friggin’ jacked, baby!” Fans boo but Starks throws body shots!

Starks CHOPS Silver, UPPERCUTS, then CHOPS again! Silver shoots around to GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Silver stalks Starks, Darby reminds us of Starks’ bad neck, and Reynolds tags in. The fans rally for Ricky but the Dark Order haul him up for a double back suplex! Starks lands out, hot tag to Bill! Bill breaks the clotheslines to DOUBLE LARIAT! Fans fire up as Bill runs up to SPLASH Silver! And then he SPLASHES Reynolds! Then another SPLASH for Silver! Bill TOSSES out the Meat Man to then drag Reynolds up. The fans fire up but Reynolds DUMPS Bill out! Reynolds builds speed to DIVE, but Bill catches him! APRON CHOKE- NO, Reynolds fights free! Silver CANNONBALLS! Bill flounders, Dark Order regroups, and Reynolds runs in to BOOT Bill along railing! Darby says Sting might be right, he doesn’t see that killer instinct inside Bill. Reynolds stands Bill up, he and Silver POST the big man! Uno wants them to finish this and they haul Bill into the ring. The fans rally up and Starks reaches out, but Reynolds BOOTS Bill! Bill just glares at Reynolds! Reynolds BOOTS, but Bill snarls. Reynolds runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Bill still catches him, BOSS MAN SLAM!!

Fans fire up and Bill crawls his way over, hot tags to Silver and Starks! The fans fire up as the Absolute rallies on Silver! Starks scoops, SLAMS, and then fires up more! He strikes his pose and the fans go wild! Starks runs corner to corner to ELBOW! Then he pushes Silver down, goes up the corner, and poses again! Reynolds gets in, though, and he kicks Starks low! Reynolds whips, Starks reverses to kick and wrench. Starks goes up the corner, and he gives us some Old School! Darby says there won’t be playing around next week, though. Starks still CLUBS Reynolds down, then goes back for Silver.

Starks runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Uno trips Starks during a distraction! Starks SPEARS Uno for that one! Starks slides in, but Silver gets him for a backslide! Renee is now with Will Hobbs and Don Callis himself, and she brings up what Sammy said earlier tonight. Sammy is cleared to compete, and has put a target on the backs of the Don Callis Family. How does it feel to have Sammy honed in on them like this? Callis says he feels sick to his stomach because he is tired about hearing about Sammy’s family! Oh, Sammy reproduced? Congrats. Medically cleared? Well, Sammy’s clearly not mentally clear, because if he was, he’d know that he’s not hunting Hobbs, Hobbs is hunting Sammy!

Hobbs tells Sammy that he knows exactly what he took away from Le Sex Gods. He knows exactly what he took away from Sammy’s family. But what Sammy doesn’t realize is that Hobbs also has a family. He has three little mouths to feed at home, who depend on their dad. You think this is the first time in Hobbs’ life that someone’s tried to hunt him? Check his track record, dawg. The other sign says “Willow + Stooley = BFFs.” Well, that aside, will Willow win her way back into a title conversation? Or will the Queen of Guinea finally get that big win in AEW she needs to also get after some gold?

The bell rings and the two tie up. They go around, Aminata waistlocks but Willow wrenches free. Aminata wrenches back, slips through then wristlocks. Willow spins, slips through, waistlocks again then headlocks. The fans are behind Willow but Aminata brings Willow down so she can slip out the back. Aminata wrenches an arm, then steps over for a twerk attack! Fans cheer but Willow is annoyed. Willow stands, slips around, and SLAMS Aminata down. Willow shows her own twerk power, but Kris covers Stokely’s eyes. He’s not allowed to see that. Aminata runs up, Willow dodges then follows to run Aminata over!

Renee is now with Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor, and notes that they asked for this time. What’s going on? Cassidy says he knew that if he asked for this time, that Roddy & his friends would come in and interrupt them, so… They’re probably gonna do just that in three, two, one. Nothing? Trent asks, “What if they don’t show up?” Cassidy says he didn’t think about that. But then Roddy shouts “ORANGE!” Oh, there they are. The Undisputed Kingdom walk over, Adam Cole rolling up in the wheelchair, and Cassidy thanks them for coming.

Cassidy continues by saying he was hoping to talk to Roddy, because everyone knows they’re gonna fight each other on March 3rd, at Revolution, for the International Championship. But Roddy and his friends just keep doing things that are making Cassidy and his friends really angry. Oh is that so? Yeah, so why doesn’t the entire Kingdom take on the entire Best Friends to fight? Cole says that actually sounds like a great idea! He would recommend a 4v4 but aw, Chuckie T is just too injured to compete! Cole does a 360 so he can high-five the members of the Kingdom. Cole, without any sense of irony, says Chuck is a wimp!

So instead, it will end up a Six Man Tag. Cole’s best buds, Roddy, Taven & Bennett, VS Cassidy, Trent & Rocky. Roddy loves that idea! And they can do it on Rampage, next week. Because right now, they gotta get out of here, Cole is getting a migraine just looking at Best Friends. The Undisputed Kingdom rolls out, but Cassidy asks why Cole’s in a wheelchair. Renee says it’s a long story. Rocky says those guys are the worst. Chuck says yeah, he hates them so much. Renee suggests hands in. They all put hands in, and on three. One, two, three, they got burned. But will Freshly Squeezed and Roppongi Vice burn the Kingdom back in trios action?

Rampage returns as Renee is now with the dysfunctional trio and congratulates Willow on her big win tonight, having both Kris & Stokely out there with her. How is she feeling? Great! She even made a friendship bracelet for Renee, just like she promised. But she’s also tired, because- Oh, wait, The Outcasts come barging in, Saraya trying to keep the peace between Ruby Soho and Harley Cameron. Stokely says whoa, whoa, whoa! Last time he checked, this is AEW Rampage, not Dawson’s Creek. Take this mess somewhere else. Saraya says she doesn’t know what that means, but she will have Harley take care of this.

Harley flirts with Stokely, then BITES his hand! Stokely freaks out and Ruby asks what the hell! Saraya says Harley’s a rescue, okay? Willow says this was her time, but Ruby tells her to go back to daycare, “ya dumb b*tch!” WHOA! Uncalled for! Stokely says he’s the only one who gets to make fun of Willow! Aw, really? Stokely frowns, and then Willow says Ruby’s insulting her, taking up her time, so if they wanna settle this, they can do it in the ring! Kris agrees, let’s go! Next week on Rampage! See you there! Saraya blames Ruby for getting them into this mess, and is upset she actually has to wrestle now.

Willow, Kris & Stokely leave, the Outcasts continue to bicker, and Renee shouts at them all to stop it and shut up! Saraya says she’s just so tired, though… Will nothing fix the mess the Outcasts have gotten themselves into? Or does winning truly fix all things?

Will the Fallen Angel, Zen Assassin, Daddy Magic & Cool Hand Ange be just the eccentric quartet to handle business? Or will the Mystic, the Mad Scientist, the Golden Mask and The Predator of the Skies kick down this new Forbidden Door and start running the show?

The teams sort out and Sydal steps up to the luchador formerly known as Gran Metalik. They circle, feel things out, and tie up. They go around, Sydal waistlocks but Dorada spins around to facelock. Dorada slips around and around, whips but Sydal reverses. Dorada flips up and over Sydal, then things keep moving! He flips up and over again! Sydal runs to RANA and the fans fire up! Dorada gest up, comes back, and TORNILLO RANAS! The fans fire up while Sydal grows frustrated. The chant of “LUCHA! LUCHA!” echoes out but Sydal tags in Menard. Volador tags in, he kicks and headlocks but Menard powers out.

Volador jumps over the drop down, keeps moving, but Menard avoids the handspring! Things keep moving, and Volador RANAS Menard! Menard gets up in a huff, but Volador dodges to SUPERKICK! Menard staggers around, tag to Daniels, but tag to Mistico! Fans fire up as two living legends meet. They circle, tie up, and Daniels headlocks. Mistico throws body shots, powers out, then drops down. Daniels turns hip toss into arm-drag, but Mistico gets up to handspring and BACK ELBOW! They keep moving, Mistico springboards to CROSSBODY! Mistico whips Daniels to the corner, runs up and GAMANGIRIS! Tag to Hechicero and they set Daniels up, springboard DROPKICK! Hechi winds it up, tags Dorada, but Volador also gets in so they can BLAST Menard & Parker! Sydal storms up to protest but that just lets Mistico SUPERKICK Daniels behind the ref’s back! Volador adds a BACKSTABBER, then Dorada runs to SHOOTING STAR! Cover, Sydal breaks it!

The fans fire up and Sydal is on guard for the other luchadores. The ref reprimands, Sydal bails out, and Dorada is annoyed. Dorada RAMS into Daniels, then winds up to CHOP! Daniels turns things around but Dorada dodges to CHOP again! Fans “WOO~!” and Dorada whips Daniels, only for Daniels to kick and STO! Hot tag to Menard, and he tags in Parker! The former Ever-Rise runs Dorada over! Volador storms in but Menard atomic drops him for Parker to DROPKICK out of the ring! They BLAST Mistico y Hechicero, tag to Sydal, and they send him in to BACK ELBOW Dorada! Parker is sent in, he ELBOWS Dorada!

Parker feeds Dorada to the drop toehold, and then BOOYAH, Just a Taste! Sydal sets up, STANDING MARIPOSA! Cover, TWO!! Dorada survives but Sydal clamps on with a BOW ‘N’ ARROW! Dorada fights it, Sydal puts it back on! Dorada endures, pries at the hold, and Rampage goes picture in picture.

Sydal throws Dorada down to then SENTON! Fans fire up as Sydal gets Dorada up and brings him over. Tag to Menard and the fans go wild for Daddy Magic! Menard stomps Dorada, brings him around and scoops, to then BACKBREAKER! Menard tags Cool Hand Ange and he stomps Dorada around. Parker drops some knees, then drags Dorada up. Parker scoops Dorada for a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Dorada is still in this but Parker tags Daniels in. Daniels stomps Dorada, drags him up, and CLUBS him down! Daniels has the fans calm down, and he bumps Dorada off buckles. Daniels CHOPS!

Dorada sputters and staggers but Daniels reels him in, for a BACKBREAKER! Daniels soaks up the cheers, then covers, TWO! Dorada hangs in there but Daniels tags Sydal. Sydal sits Dorada up to KICK him in the back! Sydal drags Dorada up, scoops and hits a BACKBREAKER! Sydal then clamps on a modified Bow ‘n’ Arrow stretch! Dorada still endures so Sydal drags him over, tag to Parker. Parker drops knees on Dorada, then brings him up for a snap suplex. Cover, TWO! Dorada stays in this for his team but Parker stays on him. Tag to Daniels, and Parker hands off the cobra twist. Dorada continues to endure as Daniels pulls on him.

The ref checks on Dorada, and misses Menard & Sydal linking up with Daniels for more leverage! Team CMLL protests but Daniels CLUBS Dorada down before the ref notices. Tag to Sydal, he KICKS Dorada back down! Sydal drops knees on the back, then drops more knees. Sydal brings Dorada over, tags Parker, and Rampage returns to single picture as Sydal CHOPS Dorada. The fans rally, Parker & Sydal mug Dorada, then double whip. Dorada ducks the lariats to go up and RANA Sydal! Then he dodges Parker to SCREW HIGH KICK! Parker falls out but Daniels tags in! Hot tag to Hechicero!

Fans fire up as Hechi rallies on Daniels! Hechi whips, Daniels reverses but Hechi reverses back to hip toss! Hechi runs to STEP-UP KNEE Sydal down! Hechi fires up but Daniels hits a JAWBREAKER! Daniels runs, but Hechi follows to go up and around, SLEEPER in the ropes! The ref reprimands, Hechi lets off at 4 then shoves Daniels away. Hechi goes up, fans rally, and Hechi FLYING LARIATS! Hechi feels the magic, but Sydal ROUNDHOUSES him down! Volador SUPERKICKS Sydal down! Menard CLOBBERS Volador! Menard sees Hechicero, runs up, but Hechi SHOTGUNS him down!

Hechi whips but Daniels reverses to backslide! Hechi rolls through but into a FLATLINER! KOJI KLUTCH!! Hechi endures but his team saves him! Menard & Parker brawl with Volador y Mistico! The ref reprimands, Ever-Rise whip los luchadores but Volador KICKS Menard and Mistico ROCKS Parker! Menard still whips Volador but he KICKS again! Volador gives Mistico the boost to DOUBLE DROPKICK Ever-Rise! The fans fire up as CMLL coordinates. Volador DIVES to take out Parker! Mistico goes up and up and CROSSBODIES Menard! Sydal is up, but so is Dorada! FLYING ARM-DRAG!

Sydal ends up outside, Dorada builds speed to TORNILLO and take out everyone!! The fans are thunderous as Hechicero and Daniels stagger to their feet. They bump into each other, and then Daniels kicks first! Underhooks, but Hechicero back drops free! Hechi fires up, runs in, STEP-UP KNEE! Then Hechicero hops onto Daniels’ back, rolls him forward, then rolls him around and around, into the CRADLE! CMLL WINS!

Winners: Mistico, Hechicero, Mascara Dorada y Volador Jr, by pinfall

The Alchemist of Wrestling pulls out the win as if by magic, but now he has just 24 hours to prepare for Bryan Danielson! Will Hechicero be able to slay the American Dragon?

My Thoughts:

A really good Rampage, a lot of story stuff going on, mostly in the promos. Great one from Best Friends and Undisputed Kingdom with the classic brand of obnoxious Adam Cole there. A Six Man Tag of Roddy & Kingdom VS Cassidy & RPG Vice is going to be a great one, and probably a bit telling as to who wins the International Championship match at Revolution. Good promo from Sammy and good response from Callis & Hobbs, maybe it won’t be Paul Wight but Sammy that rejoins Jericho so we get a big tag match blowoff with Hobbs & Takeshita. I guess we’ll see on Dynamite in Phoenix this Wednesday.

Great opening tag from Private Party VS Top Flight, and good win for Top Flight. We definitely need a tiebreaker match, it probably happens at Revolution in like the Buy-In or something, and the winner of that can perhaps claim a top spot in the tag ranks. Great tag title eliminator, Starks & Bill of course winning. I like that they’re escalating this to a Tornado Tag, as Sting & Darby love getting nuts during these matches. It’ll be all the more reason Sting & Darby win, mostly protecting Starks & Bill. And good promo from Lethal and Triple J, but can we stop dragging this story out and just get to Lethal VS Jarrett already? Something’s gotta give and right now, it’s gonna be my patience.

Great match from Willow VS Aminata, with really fun stuff out of Stokely, but it seems a shame Aminata has to lose to help the established stars get going again. Though, Willow does need to get towards a title again. She won the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament, she should get an actual title reign already. But either way, really good promo from Willow, Kris & Stokely with The Outcasts, and that is going to be a fun tag match. Speaking of “something’s gotta give,” let’s just get to where Saraya blurts out SHE is the one who ruined Ruby’s relationship with Parker and have the build to Ruby VS Saraya for Revolution begin.

And a great 8 Man Tag for the main event. I figured Team CMLL would win but everyone got to look good in the match. Hechicero VS Bryan Danielson for Collision will be great stuff, and given what’s building with the Blackpool Combat Club, expect everyone else to get involved. NJPW already has Fantastica Mania, their crossover with CMLL, so I’d love if AEW could set up another kind of Forbidden Door event to have CMLL join in. Though things are a bit complicated since AEW also works with AAA, I wonder if CMLL emerging is a sign of changing times? I just don’t know if that’s a change in the rivalry of AAA and CMLL or the partnership of AAA and AEW.
