The bell rings and the two circle. Bryan says that sure Yuta lost, but it isn’t about losing, it’s about how you bounce back from a loss. Yuta learned a lot in losing to Lee Moriarty. Yuta and Butcher tie up, and Yuta waistlocks. Yuta chinbars but Butcher wrenches an arm. Yuta spins Butcher around to facelock, but Butcher endures. Yuta floats to Oklahoma Roll, TWO! Yuta and Butcher circle again, feel things out, and knuckle lock. Butcher then ROCKS Yuta! Yuta CHOPS, so Butcher CHOPS back! Yuta fires a forearm, Butcher hits back! Butcher fires off forearms and CHOPS in the corner, but Yuta CHOPS and forearms in return!

Bryan commends Yuta on not backing down from the much bigger Butcher. Yuta headlocks, Butcher powers out, but Yuta slips around to wrench and hook Butcher into an IRON OCTOPUS! Bryan says that’s how you beat a bigger man! Butcher endures, and he powers up, only for Yuta to sunset flip! TWO, and both men stand. Butcher CLOBBERS Yuta! Yuta gets up in a huff to fire forearms and CHOPS! Butcher ducks the rolling elbow to CLOBBER Yuta again! Butcher drags Yuta up, ROCKS him, and storms up in the corner. Butcher CHOPS, then gets some space to run in and LARIAT! Butcher shoves Yuta down, then kneels on the cover, TWO!

Yuta runs up, RAMS into Butcher, but Butcher BOOTS him! And BOOTS him again! Yuta CHOPS, ROCKS, repeat, but Butcher BITES Yuta! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Butcher lets off. Butcher stalks Yuta to a corner, stomps a mudhole, then whips corner to corner. Yuta comes back, into a back drop! Butcher paces, Yuta is frustrated, but Butcher stomps him. Butcher drags Yuta up, but Yuta fires a forearm! And a CHOP! Butcher BOOTS Yuta, Yuta rewinds and shoots around to SHOVE Butcher out! Yuta then DIVES! Down goes Butcher at the ramp! The fans fire up with Yuta and he storms over to Butcher.

Yuta RAMS Butcher into barriers, then stomps him around. The ring count climbs but Yuta UPPERCUTS Butcher! Yuta puts Butcher in a 6 of 10, storms up on him, and then RAMS Butcher into buckles. Yuta runs up, Butcher dodges, but Yuta ELBOWS back! Yuta goes up and leaps, but Butcher SWATS him! Butcher then runs and shoots around, HALF NELSON BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Yuta survives but Butcher pushes him back down and clamps on a chinlock STRETCH! Yuta endures while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Butcher’s grip moves up from chin to Yuta’s eyes so he can’t see where to go! Even so, Yuta fights up, pries at the hold, then fires body shots. Butcher powers Yuta to a corner, and he BITES Yuta’s forehead! The ref reprimands, but Butcher lets off at 4. Yuta checks his forehead, no blood yet, but Butcher stomps and CLUBS him. Butcher CHOPS, but Yuta CHOPS! Yuta CHOPS and ROCKS Butcher, but Butcher ROCKS Yuta right back. Butcher storms up, but Yuta CHOSP again! Yuta reels Butcher in, but Butcher suplexes first! Cover, TWO! Rampage returns to single picture as Butcher climbs. The fans rally, Butcher brings Yuta up, but Yuta fires body shots! Yuta HEADBUTTS again and again, then HEADBUTTS Butcher down! Yuta stands to CROSSBODY! Both men are down and the fans fire up! A standing count starts, but Yuta rises. Butcher follows, and Yuta runs up to LARIAT! Butcher stays standing, so Yuta runs to LARIAT again! Butcher whips Yuta to a corner! Butcher runs in, Yuta goes up and over, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and he LEAPING LARIATS Butcher down! The fans fire up with Yuta and he rises again. Yuta atomic drops then ENZIGIRIS!

Yuta goes to a corner, runs up, and he ROCKS Butcher with a forearm! Yuta runs in at the corner, FLYING FOREARM! Butcher staggers, Yuta goes up, and FLYING LARIATS! The fans fire up and Yuta kips up! Yuta stalks Butcher, reels him in, and GERMAN SUPLEXES! Bridging cover, TWO!! Butcher gets out of that but Bryan says beautiful form. Yuta underhooks Butcher to then isolate the arm, and STOMP it! Yuta survives and the fans fire up! Butcher drags Yuta up, but Yuta grabs the arm to TWEAK it! Butcher staggers, comes back, but Yuta SLAPS him! The fans fire up but Butcher i pissed! He DECKS Yuta, then HAMMERS away! Butcher throws his elbow pads off, hoists Yuta up, and back suplexes! Yuta lands out, hammerlocks and RAMS that arm into buckles! Then a double chicken wing! Butcher backwards headbutts, but Yuta BITES Butcher! Payback for earlier, and he brings Butcher down for HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Bryan says Yuta’s been working on this! Yes, CATTLE MUTILATION! Private Party likes to take shots, fancy themselves a couple of shooters, but Mason will have them know that MXM have been in the dungeons. Prepare to be stretched by the masters! They do like their shots, but MXM doesn’t drink, smoke or do any drugs. Their addiction is to shampoo and condition. And the only “shots” they take are beauty shots. POSE! The Machine has been building up momentum towards title opportunities between AEW and ROH. In fact, he defeated Rocky Romero just last night. Will he keep that momentum going while going on a Rampage? Or will the answer to #WhoBetta be The Highlight of the Show, Manny Lo?

Backstage interview with Kyle Fletcher & Don Callis.

Renee Paquette is with the Aussie Arrow and crooked Callis, and brings up that next Wednesday on Dynamite, Kyle will go 1v1 with MJF. Given how heated things have been between MJF and Kyle’s best friend, Will Ospreay, how persona does this feel for Kyle? Kyle says there was a reason he had to go out there and help Ospreay. He couldn’t stand by and watch what MJF was- Callis interrupts here, saying that’s so great for Kyle. There are friends, and then there’s family. And all Callis is saying is that the Don Callis Family doesn’t need to put their noses in MJF’s business. But then in steps Brian Cage!

Cage asks why Renee is interviewing these guys after what Cage just did out there. Cage beat a scrub in like 30 seconds. Kyle can just ask his guy, Callis, here. Callis already said Cage is a once in a lifetime level talent. He is the fusion of Lebron James and Bo Jackson! Movie star good looks, million dollar body! So they should be talking about Cage. Kyle asks if that’s so, but then Callis says they don’t need to talk at all, they can just go. But Kyle tells Don that if Cage wants some TV time, to prove that he’s more than just his body, Kyle is more than ready to do a warm-up. Collision, Kyle VS Cage, how’s ’bout that?

Cage says absolutely. And Kyle won’t even make it to next Wednesday. Kyle says let’s fine out. Callis says okay, let’s go. But this is what he means! Kyle doesn’t need to face someone so dangerous before facing MJF. What is this? They’re not getting paid by the match! They’re not…? But Callis may have a point. Will Kyle regret taking on The Machine so close to taking on The Wolf of Wrestling?

Nyla Rose VS Harley Cameron!

Speaking of hunting down gold, The Native Beast wants herself a taste, but All In already has title matches made. Will Nyla just have to whet her appetite with Saraya’s new little sidekick? Or will Harley prove not even Nyla can handle all this crazy?

But while she makes her entrance, Harley has the mic to say, “You’re gonna shut up, and you’re gonna listen. Because I’m very sorry to break everybody’s hearts, but Saraya will not be wrestling tonight.” Well, we didn’t think so… But Harley says Saraya is doing this out of PROTEST! She is protesting how she has been treated by AEW and by all the fans! So in honor of Saraya, Nyla is in a LOT of trouble! Really? Harley storms into the ring, and maybe she’s even crazier than we knew. The bell rings and Harley gets right up in Nyla’s face! Nyla pushes her back, but Harley fires a forearm! And another!

Harley runs, but Nyla runs her over without even trying! Nyla whips Harley to a corner, CLOBBERS her, and the fans fire up! Harley goes to a corner, Nyla runs up but Harley slips away and ROUNDHOUSES! Harley brings Nyla through ropes to AX KICK! Harley then hurries in, and she whips, but can’t even make Nyla move! Nyla TOSSES Harley out, then runs to WRECK her with a dropkick! The fans fire up, Nyla says she’ll do it! But then she fakes the dive, to slide out and slap Harley around! Nyla scoops Harley, but Harley slips free to POST Nyla! And RAM her into railing! Harley refreshes the ring count to then drag Nyla up.

Harley CLUBS Nyla, CLUBS her again, and talks more trash. Harley RAMS Nyla into the apron, then shoves her in. Harley CLUBS Nyla, KICKS her, then bumps her off buckles. The fans rally but Harley stomps a mudhole in. Harley digs her boot in, but lets off to argue with the ref while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Nyla sputters but Harley puts her on ropes to CHOKE! The ref counts, Harley thrashes around but lets off at 4. Harley then RAMS Nyla to a corner! And again! And again! Harley lets off, shoves Nyla into the corner and fires off forearms! The ref counts, Harley lets off again, then soaks up the heat. Harley digs her boots into Nyla again, lets off at 4 again, then drags Nyla up to CHOKE her again! The ref again counts, and again Harley lets off at 4. Harley stands Nyla up to dig her boots in some more, and again lets off to soak up heat. Harley goes corner to corner, but Nyla URENAGES her down! And then Nyla lines up a shot, SENTON onto knees!

Harley hurries after Nyla to THRASH her around! The ref counts, Harley lets off, then goes up a corner to soak up more heat. Harley kicks Nyla around, but that just makes Nyla mad! Nyla ROCKS Harley! And ROCKS her again! And again and again and again! Nyla whips but Harley sunset flips! Nyla stays up, to HIP DROP down! Cover, TWO! Harley escapes and then RAMS Nyla into buckles, and Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns and Harley slaps Nyla around. But Nyla grabs Harley by the throat! Harley breaks free, fires knee after knee, then KICKS at the legs! Harley CLUBS away on Nyla, but Nyla stops that to pick Harley up! Harley still fires elbows, then runs. But Nyla stops the tilt-o-whirl to hit a BACKBREAKER! Harley hobbles around, into a scoop and SLAM! LEG DROP! The fans fire up, and Nyla ELBOWS Harley back down! Cover, TWO! Harley survives but Nyla drags her up. Harley JAWBREAKERS back! Harley runs in at the corner, SHINING- NO, Nyla catches Harley and puts her up top! Harley pushes Nyla, leaps, but into Nyla’s arms!

Nyla POWERSLAMS Harley down, and roars! The fans fire up, Harley is in the corner, and Nyla grins. Nyla runs in, but Harley avoids the cannonball! Harley SUPERKICKS! Harley runs, and SHINING WIZARDS! And MXM is not gonna step into their party, take their girls, take their shots. Y’all buggin’! But guess what? Quen loves competition. So guess what? Keith storms up on Drake, CLUBS him down, and then stands Drake up to KICK him down! Bill & Jericho like what they’re seeing as Keith brings Drake up again. Keith whips Drake hard into buckles, and Drake falls back. The fans boo but Keith storms up on Drake. Keith CLUBS Drake, digs his boot in, but lets off as the ref counts 4. Drake flounders but Keith CLAWS Drake’s face again! The ref reprimands, but Keith SCRAPES Drake’s face on ropes!

Keith lets off to SMACK Drake off buckles, then he puts him in the Tree of Woe! Keith stomps away on Drake, Bill counts along to TEN! Bill is having fun as he taunts Drake, and then Keith scrapes Drake with his boots. Keith CHOKES Drake, lets off as the ref counts, and then Bill BENDS Drake back! The fans boo but the ref misses all this while he reprimands Keith. Keith dumps Drake out of the Tree, then he drags Drake around. Keith whips Drake, but Drake holds ropes! Backstage interview with Katsuyori Shibata.

Renee is with the Wrestler, and brings up next week’s match on Dynamite. Is he concerned at all about the numbers game given Jericho & Big Bill will be ringside? Does he have any updates on the conditions of Samoa Joe and Hook? Shibata types it out, and says, “I have spoken to Samoa Joe & Hook, and they both want revenge on The Learning Tree. Most likely, sooner than later.” Then speaking of revenge, the last time Shibata was in the ring with Bryan Keith, Keith damaged Shibata’s arm. Is Shibata going to be 100% going into this match?

Shibata types out that he is feeling more than 100%. The last time he saw Keith, Keith did in fact injure Shibata’s arm. So next week on Dynamite, Shibata is going to injure all of Keith. Renee says it is official. When Dynamite rolls into Winston-Salem, North Carolina, it will be Shibata VS Keith 1v1! Shibata adds that he’s been to Winston-Salem. It’s nice and he has family there. Then will the Shibata Family be cheering Katsuyori as he crushes the Bad Apple?

AEW hears from the men in Collision’s All-Star 8 Man Tag.

Matt Taven calls out FTR, saying that since day one, Cash & Dax have done nothing but avoid The Kingdom. And Mike Bennett tells Mark Briscoe that if he comes in with that Redneck Kung-Fu, Bennett’s gonna shove that karate chopping hand so far up Mark’s redneck ass- Roderick Strong shouts, “FELLAAAS!” Word of the day is “ass whooping.” Because that is what we’re gonna do to FTR, Mark Briscoe and Darby Allin. Joining them will be none other than THE BEAST MORTOS!

But Mark Briscoe says it’s 8 Man action, baby! Cash Wheeler says their road back to the AEW World Tag Team Championships started last week. Therefore, The Kingdom is merely a stepping stone for FTR. Darby Allin says this is all about building momentum to All In. And Dax Harwood says don’t even worry about Wembley yet, because tomorrow night, it will be war. #TopGuysOut!

On top of the All-Star 8 Man, and on top of Collision’s much earlier start time of 5 PM Eastern, 2 PM Pacific, we will see Thunder Rosa VS Taya Valkyrie! Will La Mera Mera make La Wera Loca pay for all her meddling lately? The MXM Collection VS Private Party!

Mansoor & Mason had a fabulous debut for ROH at Death Before Dishonor, and they put on a fierce battle against FTR for their AEW debut. However, they’re still 1-1 through that big weekend. Will this be far more than just a rebound victory for them? Or will the Iron Chic & Mahogany Hunk feel hungover after taking “shots” from Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy?

The teams sort out and after a finger boop, Mansoor starts against Brother Zay. Mason tells Greenville from the apron, “Congratulations. You’ve got the best seat in the house!” Then he shows off the glutes! Zay and Mansoor tie up, go around, and Zay wrenches to a wristlock. Mansoor rolls, cartwheels, then slides under to trip Zay up. Mansoor steps on Zay, strikes a pose, and the fans cheer. Zay is annoyed, but he and Mansoor reset. They tie up, Mansoor wrenches again, and he wristlocks. Zay rolls, rolls, handsprings and says “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” Mansoor backs up and says put that away! Take this seriously!

Zay says he is taking this seriously! They tie up, Mansoor headlocks, but Zay powers up and out. Mansoor runs Zay over! Mansoor struts, poses, and so much for serious. Things speed up, Zay hurdles, Mansoor leaps over, and both Zay and Mansoor POSE! Then Zay DROPKICKS Mansoor! Zay then strikes another POSE! Mansoor scrambles away, and he tags in Mason Madden! The former Jacksonville Jaguar steps to Zay, who winds up, only for his shot to be blocked! Mason TOSSES Zay to a corner, ELBOWS him, then CHOPS him! Mason whips Zay only to reel him back in and CLUB him down! Mason then TOSSES Zay, but Quen is there for him!

Mason poses, but the Silly String helps Zay get back in safe. And Zay poses next to Mason! Mason looks over, Zay blows a kiss, then Zay ducks the backhand! Zay eggs Mason on, leads him on a cat ‘n’ mouse chase, then tags Quen. Zay dodges Mason, Quen uses Zay as a step to SHOTGUN! Mason goes to a corner, Quen sets up and Zay runs in! PARTY IN MOTION! Mansoor runs up, into a DOUBLE FLAPJACK! Private Party kips up to serve “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” MXM regroups on the outside while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Private Party waits on MXM, then Quen tags Zay. Quen & Zay DOUBLE WRECKING BALL DROPKICK! They take the fight to MXM, and Zay poses with a fan’s sign that says, “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” But Mason sends Quen into steps! Then he throat chops Zay! The ref reprimands but Mason puts Zay in and Mason hustles to the corner. Mason tags Mansoor in, and they haul Zay up. MXM double whips, but Zay holds ropes! Mason runs up but Zay DUMPS him out! Mansoor runs up, into a SIDE EFFECT! Zay then goes to a corner, climbs up top, but Mason BLASTS him down! Mason steps up and out to fetch Zay into the ring.

Mansoor tags back in, he drags Zay up and whips him into the scoop! Mansoor runs, LEG DROP SIDEWALK SLAM COMBO! Cover, TWO! Zay stays in this so Mansoor stomps away on him! Mansoor huffs ‘n’ puffs and stands Zay up to DECK him! Tag to Mason, they stomp away in the corner, then drag Zay up. They double whip, double ELBOW, then POSE! Finger boop and DOUBLE ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Mason is annoyed but he drags Zay up into a headlock. Tag back to Mansoor, he taunts Quen before he stomps Zay down. Mansoor drags Zay to a cover, TWO! Mansoor uses that to run at Quen! Quen dodges, so Mansoor runs at Zay! Zay dodges, hot tag to Quen! The fans fire up as Quen fires “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” on Mansoor! The fans fire up and Quen whips. Mansoor reverses but Quen CLOBBERS him!

Quen keeps going, he fakes Mansoor out to STANDING MOONSAULT! Somersault, QUEBRADA as Mansoor stands! Quen goes to a corner but Mason runs up! Quen dodges Mason to GAMANGIRI! Mansoor tumbles out, Mason runs up! Zay ducks the leg lariat, to FLAPJACK DROPKICK! Mason tumbles out and the fans fire up! Zay fires up, builds speed, and he DIVES, into a BLACK HOLE SLAM!! Mason is all fired up, but Quen ESCALARA SENTONS!! Down goes Mason and the fans go wild! Quen rises, helps Zay to his feet, “This is Awesome!” Private Party gets in the ring and Quen tags in. Mansoor stands, into a scoop SLAM! Quen calls to Zay, time to Hardy Party! The fans fire up as Quen and Zay climb corners, but Mason has Quen! Zay runs up, but into a BOOT! Mansoor SUPERKICKS Zay!

Mason climbs up after Quen, Quen fires hands, but Mason still SUPER CHOKE SLAMS him!! Mansoor tags Mason in, and MXM drags Quen up! Feed to the underhooks, Mason says time for a makeover! Mansoor helps get Quen up, ASSISTED BUTTERFLY DDT!! Cover, MXM wins!

Mansoor & Mason know how to kill ’em with style, and that they did here tonight! They even get Aubrey Edwards to pose with them while she raises their hands. Will the MXM Collection make AEW their runway and soon add gold to the wardrobe?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode of Rampage, though they again put two squashes in when that still seems like a bit much. Keith beating up a guy was of course to build momentum into his match with Shibata, and we got a pretty fun Shibata text-to-voice promo. I feel like Joe & Hook returning on Dynamite is all but given now, and that should give us our Six Man Tag blowoff match between these factions. Brian Cage destroying a guy probably didn’t need to happen, and I’m not sure Cage VS Kyle tomorrow needs to happen, and I’m talking shoot. Callis has a kayfabe point, but clearly this is so Kyle gets momentum going into his match with MJF that he will of course lose. Not that I expected Kyle to win this Wednesday anyway, but I guess they just wanna do go-home math type booking on that.

Great opening match from Yuta VS Butcher, though that kinda bordered on filler like the squash matches. What it did help with is giving Bryan Danielson an excuse to be on commentary so that he could explain his reasoning for going Title VS Career with Swerve and then challenging Jeff Jarrett to a match. Bryan didn’t appreciate Jarrett questioning his resolve, so he’s gonna prove to Jarrett and everybody that he’s serious. Nyla VS Harley was also a pretty good match, especially for Harley. But uh, did they mean to do a “card subject to change” gag with Harley and Saraya, then forget to advertise it that way? Harley talking about Saraya not wrestling as a form of protest but like, as was advertised, she wasn’t wrestling tonight anyway.

Good promo from the eight guys in tomorrow’s All-Star 8 Man Tag, and given all the different stories going on, hard to say who takes the loss. The Acclaimed could be why FTR’s side loses so as to motivate Acclaimed VS FTR, winner gets the match at All In. And I would hope they word it that way. Because should Acclaimed lose, they can just face the winner of FTR VS Bucks at All Out because it is only 13 days later. And then in tonight’s main event, we got great stuff out of MXM VS Private Party. While they lost to FTR just last week, that just gets their first AEW loss out of the way, we can see Mason & Mansoor go on a run to build up towards some sort of tag title match in the future.
