Athena and Toni brawl, the fans fire up, and Toni has the edge! But then Billie jumps in! The fans boo as said teenager helps Athena mug Toni! Athena CLUBS Toni, Billie stomps her, then Athena grabs the mic., “You wanna pray, Toni? HUH?!” Athena CLUBS Toni with the mic, then tells Toni to pray that she isn’t exposed for the fraud she is! Pray that Athena doesn’t show how much of an IDIOT Toni is! The fans boo but Athena says they don’t like that, huh? Without the grayscale, the innuendos, and the idiot fans, Toni would be nothing! If AEW is where the BEST wrestle, why is this b*tch sitting at the top!?

The fans boo but Athena stands on Toni. She has Billie drag Toni tot he ring and Billie indeed TOSSES Toni in. Athena says the fans will bare witness to her greatness! Athena has said it once and she’ll say it again, Toni’s days as champion are numbered! And all of these idiots will bare witness as Athena takes this company to new heights! But speaking of trouble, JetSpeed DOUBLE PLANCHAS the moment they’re in the ring! Down go Moxley & Yuta and the fans fire up! JetSpeed then drags Moxley & Yuta up, for Bailey to BOOT Yuta and Knight to send Moxley into barriers! Bailey RAMS Yuta into railing, puts him in the ring, and the bell rings. Bailey CHOPS Yuta, whips Yuta, then KICKS Yuta! Yuta drops to his knees. Bailey tags Knight, and JetSpeed double whips Yuta for a DOUBLE HIP TOSS! They stand Yuta up to then double GOURD BUSTER! And DOUBLE BASEMENT DROPKICK! Knight stomps Yuta, brings him up, and UPPERCUTS!

The fans cheer, Moxley SMACKS Knight off the desk a third time! Bailey fires off shots on Moxley but Moxley SMACKS him off the desk, too! Moxley puts Knight in the ring, stomps him, then tags Yuta. The fans boo, but Yuta & Moxley mug Knight. Yuta flexes to soak up the heat, then he brings Knight up. Yuta hooks a leg, FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Bailey hurries over to save Knight form Marina! And then he dodges, Marina runs into the steel steps! The fans go nuts but Moxley YANKS Bailey down! Knight has Yuta and DECKS him! Moxley kicks Knight! Knight fights the underhooks, then dodges Yuta! BUSAIKU KNEE INTO MOXLEY!

Yuta is stunned, the fans boo, but Yuta turns around into Bailey’s TIME ADVENTURE!! Knight goes up top, MOTHERSHIP SPLASH!! But Marina distracts the ref!! The Problem is just too much of a problem! The ref finally sees the cover and counts, TWO!!! Moxley hits Bailey with a PARADIGM SHIFT to the floor! Yuta LOW BLOWS Knight, Japanese Leg Roll! Death Riders win!!

The bell rings and the fans already rally behind “ACE! ACE! ACE!” Ricochet pushes Ace, says he doesn’t care if he’s the hometown kid or what, but then the fans taunt Ricochet with, “He’s Got Hair! He’s Got Hair!” Ace shoves Ricochet, then blocks the punch to fire off shots of his own! Ace dodges a haymaker to ROCK and CHOP Ricochet! Ace whips, Ricochet reverses, but Ace somersaults, drop toeholds, and ENZIGIRIS! Ace then steps over, LA MAGISTROL! TWO, but Ace DROPKICKS Ricochet down! Ricochet bails out and the fans fire up! Ace is feeling it, Ricochet tells fans to get out of his face.

Ricochet stands up and goes to the ring, but he steps back as Ace steps up. The ref has Ace give Ricochet space, and Ricochet gets back on the apron. Renee Paquette is with Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin, and she brings up next week, AEW in Glasgow, Scotland, it is the finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Tournament. It is FTR VS #Brodido, does the Syndicate have any predictions? MVP says those are two very fine tag teams, but look at Lashley & Shelton! The All Mighty, the Standard of Excellence! Do they look like they care who wins? Because whoever does win, are simply winning the prize that is their professional services. The Hurt Syndicate will hurt them.

Renee then moves on to the drama with MJF. Are they all on the same page with ejecting him? MVP says, “Drama? What drama? There’s been no drama. Gentlemen, do you know of any drama?” Lashley & Shelton shake their heads no. MVP says there is no drama other than what idiots on the internet drum up. Otherwise, they are better than they’ve ever been. They are champions, and it will stay that way. Shelton says always a pleasure, and the Syndicate heads out. But just who will they face in eight days at Forbidden Door?

Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong VS Blake Christian & Lee Johnson!

The Paragon may be without Adam Cole, but they are still looking to establish themselves in the AEW Tag Division. On the flipside, Vanilla Baby & Big Shotty are still figuring out their team name. Will the “Vanilla Chocolate Swirl” get a huge win on Collision? Or will the Violent Artist & Savior of the Backbreaker win this one for Adam?

Before their entrance, Renee Paquette interviews Kyle & Roddy, saying this is the first time they’ve been in action since All In and Adam Cole’s departure. Emotionally, do they see that playing into their match tonight? But before they can answer, in step Tomohiro Ishii & Hologram! Roddy is annoyed but Kyle is happy to see his other friends! And to answer the question, Paragon gets back on their winning ways, the same as The Conglomeration did on Wednesday beating both The Young Bucks and the “Don Phallic” Family’s Walking Weapon and “Koiyle Fletcha.” But then Roddy shouts at “KYYYLE~!” and Kyle asks what’s wrong.

Roddy says sorry, he wasn’t talking about this Kyle. Roddy is calling out Kyle Fletcher! Until he gets his hands on Fletcher, everyone will pay for what Fletcher did to Cole. Roddy heads out, Kyle tells Hologram that Roddy’s still going through stuff. But in honor of The Conglomeration, the word of the day is momentum! They’re gonna build momentum in this match, and then they’ll all go out, have a night on the town in “Cin Sin City!” Get some Skyline Chili, maybe a Brazilian wax, and a celebration! Roddy tells Kyle time to go. Time to go, Hologram! Kyle’s Conglomeration partners are even more speechless than usual, but will the Paragon get that momentum going?

The teams sort out, Roddy starts against Blake and the fans rally. The two feel things out as they circle, then they tie up. Roddy wrenches, wristlocks, but Blake rolls, cartwheels, and slips through. Blake wristlocks, but Roddy breaks free to CHOP Blake down! Roddy bumps Blake off buckles, tags Kyle, and they CHOP and KICK away on Blake! Lee storms in but Kyle KNEES low! Feed to Roddy’s CHOP! Kyle snap suplexes Blake and floats to a cover, ONE! Kyle keeps Blake down and rains down palm strikes! The fans cheer Kyle as he struts around. Kyle drags Blake up, wrenches, and ELBOW BREAKERS, but Blake has a SLEEPER!

Kyle snapmares free, Blake tags Lee! Kyle KICKS Blake down, then he KICKS Lee down! The fans cheer, Kyle tags Roddy, and Roddy brings Lee up. Roddy CHOPS Lee, KNEES him low, then tags Kyle back in. Roddy scoops, Kyle goes up, BACKBREAKER and KNEE DROP! Kyle BOOTS Blake for good measure, but Lee fires forearms! Kyle KICKS a leg, then drags Lee down into a GUILLOTINE FACELOCK! And on Dynamite, we found out it will be Hiromu Takahashi. That’s a great choice, as Hiromu is perhaps the greatest IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion of all time. But the issue is, this TNT Championship reign is only getting started, and it will not be over for a very long time to come. So Hiromu, sorry, but you are just another name to be added to the list of legends Kyle has mopped the floor with.

Harley says she has two suggestions. But then the Death Riders step in. Harley hangs upside-down off of Kris to look at them, and then hops down. Moxley nods and says damn right, Kris. Yuta says great work out there. Kris doesn’t fist bump him, and is now speechless. Harley says those guys are scary. But if Kris is her own woman, will she only need to invest her time and money in going after championship gold?

Then he was walking the red carpet for the world premiere of Nobody 2, chatting it up with his good friends, Bob Odenkirk and Bill Burr. And yesterday, he was at a cancer awareness event! So why does Caster get the opportunity to go to Scotland and perform? All he does is lose! He is a loser! He is pathetic! Bowens calms himself, and says he cannot stop hearing the sound of that stupid chant. And the clap! Every time Bowens tweets, everyone responds with the clap emoji! Bowens claps, wants Renee to join in, but then says he is tired of this.

With Zack Sabre Jr. having just lost in the G1 Climax semifinals, the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion must now turn his attention towards Forbidden Door. The Front Man will defend his title in his homeland of London, but will it be against a fellow countryman in Nigel McGuinness? Will it be the Dragonslayer? The ROH Pure Champion? Or the Alchemist of Lucha Libre?

The bell rings and all four men are wary of the others. The fans rally and duel, then they cheer on, “All These Guys! All These Guys!” The four approach center, feel things out, and then Nigel grapples with Lee while Garcia grapples with Hechi. Lee wrenches but Nigel wrenches back, and Garcia shoots around to waistlock Hechi. Nigel slips through to facelock but Lee wrenches free. Hechi fights his way to a facelock but Garcia wrenches to a top wristlock. Nigel has the same hold on Lee and Nigel wrangles Lee to the mat. Lee kips up, he hooks a leg, and Hechi cording holds Garcia. Garcia drop toeholds Hechi while Nigel again wrangles Lee.

Hechi hops around, steps over, and wags his finger. Lee meanwhile puts up his guard as Nigel throws some palm strikes down. Lee fights up to wrench and waistlock while Garcia drags Hechi down after all. Lee spins Nigel to cravat, but Nigel spins free and wrenches in return. Garcia has Hechi’s legs tied up while Nigel fires Cincy up. Nigel HIP DROPS Lee’s arm! Garcia floats around to hook the legs up, and he grabs at Hechi’s arms. Nigel brings Lee up for a ARM LEVER PLEX! Garcia facelocks, floats to a leg lock, but Hechi CLUBS at Garcia’s arm. Nigel whips Lee, Lee sunset flips, but Nigel stays up! Nigel breaks free to SLAM Lee’s arm!

The fans rally and sing for Nigel, but Garcia has Hechi’s leg! Standing toehold! Nigel drops a KNEE on Lee’s arm! Hechi rolls and drop toeholds Garcia into the ropes, the ref calls the ropebreak. Hechi loops Garcia’s arm around ropes, and thankfully there is a second ref as Lee has the ROPEBREAK for himself. Nigel says there’s no count because it is a Fatal 4 Way but the refs still insist. Nigel lets off of Lee, and he mocks Bryan Danielson by saying, “I have ’til five!” Meanwhile, Garcia rolls Hechi to a cover, ONE!! Garcia KNEES Hechi into the ropes, then kicks him outside. Lee and Nigel are on the outside, and Lee CLUBS Nigel!

Garcia pursues after Hechi, KNEES low, and Nigel UPPERCUTS Lee! Fans continue to duel as Hechi has a double wristlock on Garcia. Nigel wrenches Lee’s arm, and SLAMS the hand on the steps! Hechi puts Garcia back in the ring while Lee sends Nigel into barriers! Garcia rolls Hechi again, TWO! Garcia watches Lee and Nigel but they’re busy with each other. Garcia BOOTS and CHOPS Hechi! Garcia UPPERCUTS Hechi in the corner, then he climbs up! Garcia rains down fists, the fans count, but Lee is in to drag Garcia down at five! Lee waistlocks, Garcia elbows free, and Lee falls out of the ring. Garcia reels Hechi into a cradle, TWO!

Hechi has a cradle, TWO! Garcia has it, TWO! Hechi has it, TWO, and Garcia has it, TWO! They rock back and forth, then roll and roll and roll and roll! The fans fire up as they keep going around and around! They finally stop, it is Hechi’s cover, TWO!! Garcia escapes and the fans cheer! Meanwhile, Lee has Nigel in a full nelson. Nigel endures while Hechi trips Garcia. Garcia avoids the double stomps, but Hechi sweeps the legs to then hook them. Lee pushes Hechi over to jackknife bridge! Garcia drags Lee away to then step over, BOOT Hechi, and O’Conner- NO, Lee stops the bridge! Hechi then grabs Garcia’s legs, JACKKNIFE DOUBLE PIN! But Nigel stomps it all apart! The fans fire up as Nigel says if anyone is facing ZSJ in London, it’s him! The fans cheer Nigel on as he eggs on all three opponents. Nigel then sees that might’ve been a mistake. Nigel rushes Lee but Lee BOOTS Nigel! Garcia and Hechi brawl, Lee fires hands on Nigel in a corner. Garcia CHOPS Hechi, Lee UPPERCUTS Nigel! Garcia runs corner to corner, Lee dodges, and Garcia avoids running into Nigel!

Nigel and Garcia are still pals, but they forget this isn’t a tag match. Lee runs in and KNEES Garcia into Nigel! Lee then lifts Garcia in a Gory Especial! Lee bends Garcia, then he hooks Nigel with a leg! Lee has Nigel in a standing leglock while he bends Garcia in the Gory! But Hechi KICKS Lee! Lee stays up and he eggs Hechi on! Hechi kicks again, but Lee manages to catch it!? Lee drags Hechi down to have  an ANKLE LOCK! The fans fire up as Lee is making all three opponents suffer! It only takes one to quit, though! Hechi turns over and he BOOTS Lee in the face! Lee drops Garcia then falls over, also letting Nigel free!

The fans taunt Lee with, “Pittsburgh Sucks!” because they don’t wanna admit he’s that good. All four men clutch one limb or another while Collision goes picture in picture.

Garcia and Hechi find each other, and Hechi TOSSES Garcia out! Lee and Nigel clinch, Lee wrenches, and Lee hits an ELBOW BREAKER! Hechi goes out after Garcia to RAM him into railing, then fireman’s carry. Lee drops knees on Nigel’s knee while Hechi LAWN DARTS Garcia into railing! The fans cheer Hechi on while he drags Garcia around and has a standing toehold. Nigel wrenches Lee, hammerlocks and DDTS! Nigel drops an elbow but misses as Lee dodges! BORDER CITY STRETCH!! Nigel endures, reaches out, but Hechi leaves Garcia behind to get in the ring. Hechi grabs Lee’s leg, and ties him up in a FIGURE FOUR!

Lee endures a hold but he still holds onto Nigel! Nigel endures, but this makes it even harder to reach the ropes! Hechi tortures Lee’s leg, but then Garcia has Hechi’s arm! ARMBAR!! Hechi endures, Lee endures, Nigel endures, Garcia is the only one safe! Garcia coaches Nigel, Nigel gets free by scooting back, but then Nigel drops an elbow on Garcia! Hechi backstrokes to the ROPEBREAK, so Nigel lets him go slowly. Garcia endures being bent again, and Nigel gets in there, only for Garcia to TRIANGLE HOLD Nigel with just his legs! Hechi finds Lee and CLUBS the arms! Hechi wrenches Lee but Garcia drags Nigel down to an omoplata!

Nigel shifts, he has the LEBELL LOCK!! Shoutout to Danielson, but Hechi rolls Lee around into a CRUCIFIX SPLADLE!! Nigel endures, Lee endures, the fans fire up, and Lee looks over at Nigel! Nigel powers up and out, rolls Garcia, and Lee manages to tip Hechi to a cover! TWO!! But now Nigel has Garcia in a top mount! Garcia shifts around, but he ends up in the omoplata! Nigel puts all he has into that omoplata scissor, but now Lee wrenches Hechi! FUJIWARA ARMBAR! Hechi and Garcia endure now, they kick at each other, but Lee rolls Hechi for a KNEEBAR! HEEL HOOK! Hechi counters with his own HEEL HOOK!!

Lee has the ROPEBREAK, so Hechi lets go. Garcia fights around, he reaches out, ROPEBREAK! Nigel lets go, but Hechi has lee up. Lee ROCKS Hechi, UPPERCUTS him, and fires up to UPPERCUT again and again! Lee runs, but Hechi drop steps to shove! Hechi blows past Lee to tilt-o-whirl LEG DROP! But Nigel hurries to top wristlock! LONDON DUNGEON!! But Garcia drags Lee from Hechi to step through! DRAGON TAMER!! Lee and Hechi endure, even as both Garcia and Nigel pull back! Garcia and Nigel shout at each other, Nigel says he isn’t missing his chance but Garcia says Nigel had his time!

Nigel and Garcia still pull on the holds, but then Nigel ELBOWS Garcia in the head!! The fans fire up for Nigel as he looms over Garcia. Nigel goes to Lee now, LONDON DUNGEON!!! Lee endures, Hechi staggers up, and Hechi decides to get Lee, too! Hechi has a DEATHLOCK on Lee’s legs, but then he reaches back, SLEEPER on Nigel!! Lee and Nigel endure, the fans are thunderous, and Garcia runs up to CHOP Hechi! And CHOP! And then CHOP! Hechi CHOPS back! The CHOPS fire off and the fans fire up! Hechi KICKS a leg, fires hands, then whips. Hechi SPLASHES Garcia in the corner, then powers up his magic!

But Garcia leg rolls Hechi, steps through, and DRAGON TAMER!! Hechi endures, Lee and Nigel clinch, Nigel wrenches and WRINGS Lee out! Nigel clamps on, LONDON DUNGEON for Lee!! Lee and Hechi endure, Garcia and Nigel THRASH these holds!! Lee and Hechi have nowhere to go, but Lee keeps Hechi form tapping! That in turn keeps Lee from tapping! Lee then powers up, but Nigel BENDS Lee against his knees!! LEE TAPS, NIGEL WINS!!!

In the end, it might’ve just been about who wanted it more! Garcia wanted to challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, but Nigel wants to challenge ZSJ for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in his home country. Renee Paquette is here to interveiw NIgel int he ring, and says a huge congratulations! This is a dream match at Forbidden Door! The first time ever, we are getting ZSJ VS Nigel, and it is for the top prize in NJPW. After this Technical Spectacle, does Nigel feel ready for Zack? Oh, does Nigel feel ready? What do the fans think? The fans cheer!

Nigel says ZSJ has talked about it. This is as much a dream match for ZSJ as it is for Nigel, and for a lot of fans around the world. Time to make that dream a reality in London, England! The fans cheer that, too! Nigel does want Garcia to know, and this is important. Nigel kneels with Garcia and says Garcia was so close. Maybe one more second, Garcia would be going to London. But hey, big round of applause! Garcia left his heart in this ring. The fans do cheer Garcia, and Nigel hopes Garcia hears that. That is because of Garcia’s heart. That heart will take him a long way in this business.

Nigel says Garcia was already AEW TNT Champion, it won’t be long until he wears gold again. But Nigel does have one thing to ask Garcia. It’d be Nigel’s honor if, in London, at Forbidden Door, Garcia would stand in Nigel’s corner as he faces ZSJ for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. The fans cheer that! Cincy chants “YES! YES! YES!” but Nigel waits on Garcia’s answer. Garcia steps up, and he shakes Nigel’s hand! They hug it out, and Garcia raises Nigel’s hand in victory. Will Nigel make a dream come true when he takes THE IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in The O2? Or will ZSJ make him #JustTapOut?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, with a lot of action and even some story progress. Very good opening promo from Toni, and naturally Athena & Billie attacked her. And I’m happily surprised to see they gave us Mina returning here to help plug the Death Before Dishonor match. Nice update on the TBS Championship match, and I had a feeling Persephone would be the one. I kinda feel like they could’ve gone with someone else, but Persephone does have experience facing Mone, so that’ll help the chemistry of the match. Very good opening tag match of Death Riders VS JetSpeed, but of course Death Riders cheated to win. That Six Man Tag for Glasgow with Tanahashi sounds awesome, and it’ll help with the go-home math on the big cage match.

Very good match from Ricochet VS Ace Austin, but of course Gates of Agony helped Ricochet win. Feels like Ace is gonna get backup of his own to take on Ricochet & GOA in a Six Man Tag. Another good promo from Kyle being stuck between his different friend groups, and I still think we’re getting Kyle & Roddy VS Ishii & Hologram at some point. Good part of the promo for Roddy to call out Fletcher, too, that will be a great singles match. Good promo from Sky Flight, Leila does great character work but still needs a little something in-ring. Good response promo from The Callis Family, they’ll have a good match no matter what it is, and it could really go either way.

Great Fatal 4 Way for the kayfabe money, and Kris was definitely the right choice. Kris has this new passive aggressive, overly enthusiastic attitude going, this helps add to that, and now Harley is back to add to things. It really felt like they were building a big 10 Woman Tag, maybe they’ll do that for after Forbidden Door as we head for All Out. Really good match from Juice VS Keith, and naturally Bill and Austin get involved at ringside. Great win for Juice, and it feels like there might be a tag team rematch coming in order to settle the score. Great promo from Bowens, and there’s a great meta about the usual expectations in a team breakup and how this has subverted that. Also, can’t wait to see who accepts Caster’s challenge, I hope it is someone from like Rev-Pro.

Very good promo from Hurt Syndicate, and then great beatdown stuff from FTR & Stokely with Brody & Bandido. Though with that, I wonder if this means #Brodido actually wins to then challenge Hurt Syndicate. That’d be wild, but then… I suppose Brodido would just end up losing on PPV so that Hurt Syndicate retains? Seems a shame for Brody & Bandido. Great main event, though it was rather tricky to keep up with such a match. It was like two separate technical wrestling matches happening at the same time, and then they’d trade opponents or something. Very creative, just don’t do it again, TK. But I could just tell Nigel would win here, it all just writes itself.

But then so does the chances of Garcia turning on Nigel to cost him… That’s gonna suck in the moment, but Nigel VS Garcia would be an awesome feud, and it really could prepare Garcia for a new title scene, such as the Unified or even the World title.
