Los Americanos arrive backstage.

And they greet the locker room by introducing themselves. Though Grande has to question, where is HIS locker room? His private locker room! And who even are these guys? What is this trash? Josh Briggs is pissed. You put your hands on his bag, he puts his hands on you. Grande asks what this guy’s problem is, and Briggs says he doesn’t care if Grande’s some big deal in AAA or what. Briggs makes his money putting down fan favorites like these three. Grande might be able to beat a rookie like Jasper Troy, but how long do you think you can survive someone like Briggs? No title, no time limit, and no pity. What do you say, hombre? Comprende?

Grande laughs at the gringo, and says it’s all fine by him. He’ll show the NXT Universe who he is. Boys, Briggs is all Grande’s tonight, he promises that. Now walk! Briggs leaves, but will Grande make a big impression bringing down big bad Briggs?

NXT shares a video from Lei Ying Lee.

The post on Twitter reads, “KELANI, YOU JUST BROUGH TSHAME TO THE KNOCKOUTS TITLE. I’M BRINGING THE FIGHT, AND I’M TAKING BACK THE HONOR.” The video says: “Kelani Jordan, you brought shame to yourself and to the TNA Knockouts Title. You fooled us. You acted like a good person, and we all believed you. But last week, you cheated. You had to hit Jordynne Grace in the face with that title just to win! You should be ashamed of yourself. I will not let you shame our title! I will not let you drag down our division! So be prepared for the battle. Because I will be the one who takes that Knockouts Championship from you!”

The Warrior is ready, when and where will she get her shot at the Standout?

Wren Sinclair talks with Kendal Grey.

Karmen Petrovic & Tyra Mae Steele are also at the table as Wren says she doesn’t know how, but Kendal retained the Evolve Women’s title against Lash Legend, and is now a full-fledged member of the #WrenQCC! Kendal says she won’t lie, Lash was beating her ass, but Kendal cut her down and got her first win on NXT. And that is just the started! Wren is inspired! She vows to win the Women’s Speed Tournament! They’re all excited for her, and they know she can win that title. Kendal will continue holding the Evolve title, and then the WrenQCC will be ready for anyone and everyone.

Kendal trails off a bit as she spots Knockouts World Champion, Kelani Jordan, walk in. Kelani says this is cute. She remembers when she was just like Kendal after winning her first title. But you’ll learn. All of you will. In fact, listen to what she’s about to say in the ring. Go on, find a monitor. The Standout heads out, what will her excu- er, reason be for what she did last week?

Kelani goes right from gorilla to the ring and the fans boo. She grabs the mic and says, “Last week, I did everything I could to keep this TNA Knockouts World Championship. By any means necessary. I guess you could say it was a bit out of character for Kelani Jordan. Shut up while the champion is talking!” The fans just boo louder. Kelani asks us a question: “Why is it when Dominik Mysterio cheats and wins the AAA Mega Championship, you guys all cheer and you love him? When Cody Rhodes uses his title against Drew McIntyre on Saturday Night’s Main Event, you guys are still gonna sing his song come Friday night.

“But why does everyone have a problem with me? This is why NXT is drowning in hypocrisy! An opportunity came up when Ash By Elegance vacated this title. I come in and win it on the first tonight. And I tell myself, ‘I’m not gonna be a champion like Trick Williams. I’m not gonna trash the brand and wear my title upside-down. I’ll hold this title with honor and prestige. A title held by so many great women.’ And you know what that gets me?! Booed! Kicked out the locker room. Labeled as a traitor amongst people I thought were my friends. ‘How dare you represent TNA, Kelani!’

“Oh, oh, so I can’t do that? But it’s okay for Lola Vice to go to AAA every other weekend? And we all love that for Lola! So let’s tell the truth. The truth is, is that I was kicked out the locker room by women who haven’t accomplished half of what I accomplished in NXT. I don’t just call my Standout for no reason. I’ve been the Standout since my tryout in Nashville three years ago! And to this day, there is not a woman who can keep up with me athletically. They know it back there, and all of you guys know it out here!” The fans boo even harder, but Kelani says, “The sad thing is, they don’t care. They switch their minds every single week. They’re not loyal!

“They only care about who fits their little narrative: girls with fat asses and catchphrases, when what they SHOULD be caring about is that I am the most elite athlete to step foot in this ring!” The fans boo even louder but Kelani says this is the perfect example. With Jordynne Grace, every one of the fans here booed her out of this building! Then here Kelani comes, knocks her up the head, and now Kelani is public enemy number one. You guys aren’t fans, you’re followers. And no, she won’t be a champion like Tatum, handing out opportunities. It is Kelani’s time to be selfish! Yeah, Gold Rush is coming up, but she won’t defend her title. She’s staying athome.

There is no woman in NXT or TNA who is worthy or has earned it! So yeah, Lei Ying, Kelani saw you chattering. Kelani barely even knows who you are. You’re not even on the radar. And by the way, didn’t Kelani already beat you? So call Kelani a traitor, disloyal, or whatever the hell you want. One thing that you HAVE to call her is a champion! Mic drop from the Knockouts World Champion, will no one do bitter and selfish like Lani?

Backstage interview with OTM.

Sarah Schreiber is with Lucien Price & Bronco Nima and brings up the impactful return to NXT. Why destroy three teams and ruin a Triple Threat match, though? Price says it’s about checks and championships. That’s all they after. They’re not chasing dreams, they’re taking ’em. Nima adds that they are coming different this time around. They’re taking anything and everything that this locker room has been taking for granted, and stepping on every throat to do it. What they did to those three teams that night was just a glimpse of what’s coming to the entire division. They don’t have OTM’s struggles, their rage, and they damn sure ain’t got OTM’s scars. But they can change that last part.

Price says they don’t gotta yell. They know how to whisper echoes in the storm. And they will silence the room. But then Chase U’s Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors walk over. Uriah asks if OTM really thought they’d forget what happened. If they’ve got issues, let’s handle it. Chase U is sick and tired of being seen as stepping stones to the future. Well, well, well, the benchwarmers acting like they’re starters now. Mr. Chase steps in and calms his team down. Price says they can get sent to the ER right now. Chase says no, no violence necessary. OTM heads out, and Mr. Chase says pissing off OTM is not a good idea. Do they not listen to anything he says?

Mr. Chase heads out, will this new class learn not to crash and burn like the past?

El Grande Americano w/ Los Americanos VS Josh Briggs!

The WWE Speed Men’s Champion knows he has a run-in with the LFG Season 1 Champion on the horizon and it is coming up fast, but the Bullhead Brawler thinks he can end things even faster than that. Will Briggs make a name for himself off the (supposed) Greatest Luchador Ever? Or will even NXT be saying Viva Los Americanos?

The bell rings and the fans already sing, “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~!” for Grande. Grande and Briggs circle, they tie up, and Briggs puts Grande in the corner. Briggs pushes Grande. Grande shoves Briggs and they tie up. Briggs headlocks, Grande powers up and out, but Briggs RUNS him over! Briggs talks trash on Grande, tells the fans to shut up, but the fans cheer. Briggs drags Grande up to headlock, but Grande wrenches. Briggs clamps the headlock on tighter, but Grande powers out. The fans sing, “Briggs, Go Away~! Grande, You Can Stay~!” Grande drops down, then he dodges Briggs to DROPKICK him down!

The fans cheer for Grande, and he runs corner to corner to CHOP! Grande whips, Briggs reverses, but Grande goes up and over and rolls! Then arm-drag! The fans cheer as Grande hammerlocks, and they chant, “SI! SI! SI!” Briggs endures, fights up, but Grande headstands! The fans cheer as Grande clicks his heels, then bridges. Grande hops and hops and goes back to have the arm, then he ELBOWS Briggs in the head! Grande then runs to PENALTY KICK! The fans cheer and Grande goes around. Grande goes up, up, and he waits on Briggs. Briggs stands, and he trips Grande first! Grande shoves Briggs away, but wait! Jasper Troy is shaking those chains!

The fans boo as The MonStar is in the crowd and trying to intimidate Grande. Grande leaps, but Briggs ROCKS him! Briggs runs and BOOTS Grande down! Briggs roars and talks trash on Grande, Jasper takes a seat, and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns and the fans rally as Grande endures a chinlock. Grande fights to his feet, JAWBREAKERS free, then he SMACKS Briggs! And SMACKS him again! And again! Grande runs, Briggs scoops, SIDEWALK SLAM and SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Grande survives and the fans rally up while Briggs seethes. Briggs drags Grande up, pushes him around, but the fans rally again. Grande stnads to CHOP! And CHOP! CHOP! Grande knuckle locks, goes up, up, but Briggs trips him up! Briggs CLUBS away on Grande, puts him in the Tree of Woe, and he stomps a mudhole! The fans chant, “You Still Suck!” while Briggs digs his boot in.

Briggs backs off to stomp Grande more, then he sits Grande up. Briggs climbs up top, and he CLAWS at the mask! Teh fans boo but Rayo y Bravo get on the apron. Briggs SHOVES them both down! Grande spins around on the corner to FLYING SHOULDER TACKLE! Both men are down and the fans fire up again! Grande rises, shakes the ropes, and the fans are with him! Grande blocks a kick to CHOP! Then he dodges to CHOP! And then he counters a punch with CHOP, CHOP, CHOP! Grande whips, Briggs reverses, but the RUNNING HEADBUTT knocks Briggs down! Then another RUNNING HEADBUTT!

Grande wrenches, fireman’s carries, but Briggs fires elbows! Briggs shoves, Grande ROLLING CHOPS! Grande fires up with the fans, he CHOPS Briggs again and knuckle locks! Grande goes up and up to FLYING BLOCKBUSTER! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Briggs tumbles out, Grande builds speed, and he DIVES! Direct hit and Briggs hits the desk! The fans fire up again and Grande fist-bumps with his amigos. But Briggs THROWS Grande’s own cape at him! Briggs then POP-UP LARIATS Grande down! The fans boo but Briggs puts Grande in the ring. Briggs huffs ‘n’ puffs, but TAVION HEIGHTS is here!

The ref has to stop Tavion from getting at Briggs, and that lets Rayo y Bravo DOUBLE BACKSTABBER! Briggs is put in the ring, SURFBOARD STRETCH! Briggs TAPS, Grande wins!

Winner: El Grande Americano, by submission

It took quite a lot for Grande to defeat Briggs, and it was certainly more than five minutes. Will Grande be able to pick up the pace and hold onto the title against Jasper Troy? As for Briggs, will he and Tavion escalate their grudge to new heights?

Wren warms up backstage.

Wren does quick steps and Kendal approves. Kelani walks back in and asks if they watched. Wren says yeah, they did, and actually- Kendal has Wren leave it alone, she has her Speed match to focus on. Wren & Kendal head out, and Ava Raine walks over. Ava needs to talk with Kelani about something in her office. Oh, this should be good. Let’s hear it. Ava says okay, she was gonna do this privately, but if she wants to do this in front of everyone, fine. Ava heard the whole “not defending the title at Gold Rush” part, and she must remind Kelani that it isn’t Kelani’s decision. Well, last time Kelani checked, it isn’t Ava’s decision, either, Ava is in charge of NXT, not TNA.

Tyra Mae Steele says dang, Kelani! First you cheat Jordynne, now you disrespect the fans and the boss? What’s gotten into Kelani? Tyra joined NXT as a fellow athlete, and she even looked up to Kelani. Uh, she still can. Kelani is just telling it like it is now. And the way it is, is that when Lani steps into any room, SHE is the most gifted superstar while even Tyra becomes something every Olympic gold medalist becomes second place. Ava says yeah, she’s not in charge of TNA, but she IS the GM of NXT, which is where Kelani is. So if Lani wants to call her shots, fine. Test your luck against said Olympic gold medalist.

Tyra says we’ll see who’s second place. Kelani and Tyra head out to prepare, who will be the real standout tonight?

Ricky Saints arrives for his interview.

The stagehand assures him it is all set up, and then Myles Borne says hey. Ricky and Myles shake hands, and Myles just wants to say, he knows Ricky’s got the Last Man Standing with Trick coming up. But if Ricky can, save a piece of Trick for Myles. Ricky says, “Say less.” Ricky goes to the interview space, what will the Absolute have to say ahead of his extreme rematch with Trick Williams?

Ricky Saints and Trick Williams have a sit-down face-to-face, by video.

NXT returns and Vic Joseph cues the champion and challenger. Trick says, “Look at you, Ricky. You can try to cover up those bruises if you want to, but we both know you’re still banged up from Halloween Havoc. That title’s too big for you, champ. You ain’t built to carry it like me.” Ricky responds, “You act like I can’t handle the pressure or something, huh? Wasn’t it you last week that came out and threw this whole big fit on TV because you lost? Because that’s the truth! I beat you at Halloween Havoc clean, 1-2-3, you lost! And need I remind you, it was me that actually gave you the shot, and I didn’t have you jump through any hoops or hurdles.

“I actually made it very easy for you. But instead of accepting the fact that you lost like a man and getting your ass to the back of the line, you had to come out and try to take the show hostage. Why? Because your ego can’t handle being second best.” Trick says that’s because Trick Williams is second to none! Ricky has worked so hard his whole life just to get here, but he still knows nothing about carrying this brand. Ricky says Trick doesn’t give a damn about NXT! He’s been one foot in, one foot out the door ever since Ricky got here. And really, the only reason Trick is still obsessed with the NXT title is because it is some time of security blanket to him.

But for Ricky, this is representation, the culmination of who Ricky is as a person, a man that works hard. But Ricky really thought this was gonna be a pitstop. As champion, Ricky realized that he can take NXT to heights that Trick failed to do so. That right there is the difference between them: Trick takes everything for granted, but not Ricky. Not this title, not the people, and not NXT itself. Oh, so now Ricky’s a man of the people? That is what Ricky doesn’t understand! That championship doesn’t belong to someone like Ricky. Ricky looks like a fan! Ricky could go to WWE Shop to get that title. Because THE NXT Championship belongs to a star like Trick Wililams!

Trick is bigger than Ricky, better than Ricky, and next Tuesday, he will be the Last Man Standing! Let’s talk about it! Ricky says Trick wears delusional well, it’s designer at this point. But Ricky’s done with talking, they don’t have to wait until next week! Trick thinks Ricky doesn’t know how to fight but Ricky can remind Trick right now! Both men get up, storm off their respective sets, and they find each other right by gorilla! Trick takes a big swing with a big piece of pipe but Ricky ducks it to throw hands! Ricky RAMS Trick into ladders, security rushes in, but they get hit, too! Then Trick CRACKS Ricky with that steel pipe!!

The security has to stay back or they’ll get cracked! Trick says you don’t wanna see this side of him, but you will when he gets the title back. Trick leaves it at this, security calls medical, and Ricky could be in some serious danger. Will Ricky even survive his rematch with Trick?

WWE Women’s Speed Championship Tournament Opening Round: Wren Sinclair w/ Kendal Grey VS ZARIA w/ Sol Ruca!

The #WrenQCC is feeling good going into this new opportunity, but The Agent of Change vows to win the gold that Sol Ruca never truly lost. Who punches their ticket to the second round in three minutes or less?

NXT returns and Wren makes her entrance, Kendal backing her up. The bell rings and we’re on the clock. The two tie up, Wren waistlocks then spins Zaria for an armlock and YANK! Roll up, TWO! Zaria is up, dodges Wren, O’Conner Roll, TWO! Wren has the O’Conner, TWO! Wren spins Zaria, Oklahoma Roll, TWO! Zaria CHOPS Wren down! The fans are torn but Zaria whips Wren to a corner. Zaria whips, Wren grabs ropes, then Wren spins to mule kick!

Wren runs up, goes for the arm, but we hit the orange phase, two minute warning! Zaria THROWS Wren away, but Wren comes back to tilt-o-whirl, IRON OCTOPUS! The fans rally while Zaria endures, and Zaria powers out! But Wren sunset flips, TWO! Wren hurries to her feet to KICK! KICK! And DROPKICK! Zaria staggers up, Wren CHOSP her! And CHOPS her! And DOUBLE CHOPS her! The fans fire up, Wren wrenches, but Zaria shoves her away. Zaria LARIATS Wren down! And LARIATS again! And BOOTS her! GERMAN- NO, Wren fights with elbows! Wren switches, but Zaria bucks the O’Conner, red phase of one minute remaining!

Zaria runs up, Wren wrangles her! FUJIWARA!! Zaria endures, that’s the bad arm! The fans rally, Sol coaches Zaria, and Zaria rolls free! SPEAR!! Then the fireman’s carry, DELTA FORCE!! Cover, Zaria wins!

Winner: Zaria, by pinfall (advances to the finals)

With 30 seconds to spare, Zaria powers through the pain to get that much closer to gold! Will no one stop Zaria on her road to redemption?

Kelani Jordan VS Tyra Mae Steele!

The Standout said what she had to say, but now she’ll have to put up or shut up. Will Kelani win her way to not defending this title in New York City? Or will the LFG Season 1 Women’s Champion make her own impact on the Women’s Division?

NXT returns and Tyra makes her entrance. The bell rings and Lani avoids Tyra’s attempts at the legs. But then Tyra waistlocks, SLAMS Lani down, and facelocks. Lani wrenches out, wristlocks and YANKS the arm again and again. Lani grinds the arm, chinbars Tyra, and talks trash. Tyra pries free, wrenches, and wristlocks back. Tyra knuckle locks, puts on the pressure with a twist, but Lani grinds a forearm in Tyra’s face. Tyra wrenches again, but Lani rolls, rolls, handsprings and wrenches. Tyra cartwheels, cartwheels, and then wrenches through to a fireman’s carry takeover! The fans fire up, btu then Lani knees low!

Laniw hips, Tyra goes up and around, then RAMS into Lani! Tyra slingshots up an dover, Lani sits on it, with hand ont he ropes! The erf reprimands, Tyra gets up, but Lani steps over to HIP DROP the arm! La Magistrol, TWO! Lani wrenches Tyra, wrenches the wristlock, but Tyra drop toeholds. Tyra gator rolls Lani by her legs, then reel sher into the BOW ‘N’ ARROW! Lani endures so Tyra THROWS her away! Tyra runs up and O’Conner Rolls, TWO and Lani has it! TWO and Tyra has it, TWO! Lani SUPERKICKS Tyra! Tyra goes to the apron, Lani BOOTS her int he ropes! Lani then POSTS Tyra! Tyra stumbles, Lani drags her around, and she YANKS the arm!

Lani YANKS the arm again and again, then lets Tyra fall to the floor. The fans boo as Lani goes out and she SLAMS Tyra’s arm off the apron! Then Lani hammerlocks Tyra to RAM her into the apron! Lani puts the arm between steps and post! Tyra BOOTS Lani first, but then Lani CLUBS her! Lani pushes Tyra in the ring, stalks Tyra, and she pushes Tyra to a cover, TWO! Lani CLUBS away on Tyra’s arm, clamps on with a double wristlock, but the fans rally for Tyra. Tyra fights up, pries the hold open, and body blows! And body blows! Lani shoves Tyra, Tyra dodges Lani, but Lani dodges back! Lani ROCKS Tyra, then whips.

Tyra LARIATS Lani! And LARIATS again! And NECKBREAKER DROPS! The fans fire up as Tyra hauls Lani up to whip again, then FLAPJACK! Lani sputters, Tyra drags her back up, then she whips Lani. Lani reverses, Tyra goes up to HIP TTTACK! The fans fire up with Tyra, she torture racks Lani, RACK SLAM! Cover, TWO! Lani survives but Tyra is right after her. Lani YANKS Tyra into buckles! Lani fireman’s carries Tyra to WASTELAND SLAM! Lani steps on Tyra, goes up, up, ONE OF A KIND MOONSAULT! Cover, Lani wins!

Winner: Kelani Jordan, by pinfall

Lani didn’t need to resort to anything underhanded this time, she just got meaner with it. But wait! Santino Marella is on the tron! He tells Lani that he also heard what she said earlier about NOT defending that title at Gold Rush. Well, that’s interesting. But let him tell her this: Yes, Ava is NOT TNA General Manager, but Santino is the TNA Director of Authority! And so he will tell her this here and now: She WILL be defending that title at Gold Rush! But no worries, there will be no shenanigans as she defends it against Lei Ying Lee AND Jordynne Grace in a TRIPLE THREAT! The fans fire up and Lani is furious, but will the numbers spell disaster for Lani at Gold Rush?

#ZaRuca talks with Ava in her office.

Sol talked to the doc, her knee is getting better every single day. Yes, Ava heard she is making great progress. So, Sol was thinking she could have her rematch with Blake Monroe at Gold Rush. Ava brings up how the doc also mentioned Sol still had a month left. They can’t push it. Sol says yeah, but she’s going to be ready by then, just trust her. Ava would love to see Sol get her hands on Blake, but Ava can only sign off on the match IF the doctor clears her. Zaria says this could be perfect timing: Sol wins back the Women’s North American Championship, Zaria wins the Speed title. It all works out!

Ava tries to explain it to them, but Fatal Influence interrupts. Jacy knows Ava saw the win they had, Jacy pinned Izzi 1-2-3, so… Jacy was thinking that before Tatum gets any more “wonderful ideas,” maybe Jacy gets her rematch against Tatum at Gold Rush. Fallon says leaving New York with Jacy as the NXT Women’s Champion and Fallon as the new Speed Champion, that’s perfect. Oh, Fallon thinks she’s winning the Speed tournament? No, Zaria already vowed to do that for Sol, but Fallon still has to get there, so… Ava has everyone stop, since she already knows this is the part where they argue.

Ava says unfortunately for them all, she has to call Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce to talk NXT’s part to play in the Last Time Is Now Tournament. So please, all of you see yourselves out. Jacy says that’s rude, she just wanted her match. Zaria says she loves her some John Cena, and Sol even hums the theme song. But will the Toxic Cowgirl make it through her Speed tournament opening match? And who will Ava select as NXT’s four in the sweet sixteen?

Je’Von Evans VS Saquon Shugars w/ DarkState!

The Young OG and his pal, Leon Slater, want their shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships, but DarkState’s “Sugar Man” is looking to sour things from the start. Will Je’Von get BOUNCY~ and build momentum towards the Gold Rush? Or will we all be reminded that #NoOneIsSafe?

NXT returns as DarkState makes their entrance from the ramp, and then Je’Von FLIES onto them all! The fans fire up for that and Je’Von gets Saquon in the ring! The bell rings, Je’Von BUSAIKU KNEES! Cover, TWO!! Saquon survives but Je’Von grins as the fans fire up. DarkState seethes around the outside but Je’Von stands Saquon up. CHOP! Saquon kicks but Je’Von dodges to CHOP! Saquon headlocks, grinds the hold, but Je’Von powers up and out. Saquon RUNS Je’Von over, then keeps moving, but Je’Von ducks down. Je’Von hurdles over, then BOUNCY~ RA- NO! Saquon knows that too well, swing into an atomic drop!

Je’Von falls back, Saquon talks trash, and he drags Je’Von up. Saquon mockingly asks the fans, “Dat boy what? Dat boy what?!” Saquon shoves Je’Von and ROCKS him in the back! Saquon drags Je’Von up to shove and ROCK him again! Je’Von drops to the mat and Saquon has a sinister smile. Saquon scoops to BACKBREAKER, then covers, TWO! Saquon talks trash, then he drags Je’Von up again. Saquon shoves Je’Von, Je’Von mule kick! Je’Von goes up and over, then shoves him to ropes! Je’Von ROCKS Saquon in return! And CHOPS him down! Je’Von runs to SEATED SENTON! The fans fire up with Je’Von but DarkState is rabid!

Je’Von storms upon Saquon, but Saquon scoops again! BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Saquon looms over Je’Von, steps on his throat, and the fans boo. The ref reprimands, Saquon stands Je’Von up, but Je’Von fires hands! And a SPIN KICK! Saquon flounders, Je’Von runs from a corner, and uses Saquon as a step to go up the corner! Then he jumps back to RANA! The fans fire up and Je’Von keeps moving for that BOUNCY~ RANA! Then a DROPKICK! Saquon tumbles out, the fans fire up again, but DarkState coaches Saquon rather aggressively. Saquon storms in, gets under Je’Von, and he RAMS Je’Von into the corner!

Saquon CLUBS away on Je’Von, backs off, then he stomps away! The fans boo but Saquon swaggers again. But then Je’Von DUMPS Saquon out! Je’Von aims and PLANCHAS! Down goes Saquon and the fans are thunderous! Je’Von puts Saquon in, Cutler talks trash, and that lets Saquon KNEE Je’Von down! Je’Von hits barriers. DarkState all gloats about it, and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns again Je’Von endures the Gory Especial Stretch! Je’Von pops free, rolls Saquon, TWO! UP KICK! Saquon wobbles and stumbles, but he comes back to RAM Je’Von to the corner. Saquon whips, Je’Von reverses, and Je’Von BACKDROPS Saquon away! The fans fire up and Je’Von grits his teeth. Je’Von watches Saquon rise up, then he runs in, but is put on the apron! Je’Von RAMS low, then winds up to ROCK Saquon! Saquon staggers again, Je’Von springboards, but Saquon dodges! Wrench and suplex, FALON ARROW! Cartwheel and basement DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! The fans fire up as Je’Von survives!

Saquon huffs ‘n’ puffs and he stalks Je’Von to the ropes. Saquon kicks Je’Von, scuffs him, and taunts him. Saquon SLAPS Je’Von and the fans boo! Saquon talks more trash, but Je’Von rises up. The fans rally as Je’Von ROCKS Saquon! Saquon BOOTS, whips, but Je’Von rebounds and slips around to SNAP GERMAN! The fans fire up as Je’Von rises and throws off that shirt! Je’Von then runs up on Saquon, ROCKS him, bobs ‘n’ weaves, then DECKS him! And repeat! Saquon wobbles, Je’Von ROCKS him int he corner again and again! The ref counts, Je’Von backs off, and Saquon calls for help!

Dion gets Saquon out of the ring, but Je’Von just DIVES onto them both! Je’Von wipes himself out with it, but he puts Saquon in the ring. Je’Von checks his arm, gets to the apron, then springboards, FLYING LARIAT! Je’Von rebounds, RED DOT ENZIGIRI! Cover, TWO!! Saquon survives and DarkState is relieved. Je’Von shakes out the bad arm, goes up the corner, but Saquon trips him up! Saquon torture racks, FACEBUSTER! Saquon goes up, IMPLODER- NO, Je’Von dodges the splash to CUTTER! Then the springboard, O G CUTTER! Cover, OSIRIS DRAGS JE’VON OUT! But then Je’Von dodges Osiris! And he dodges Cutler to send him into steps!

Dion storms up on Je’Von, Osiris tries again, but Osiris is sent into barriers! Dion runs up, but he’s sent into the desk! Je’Von is juking all of DarkState and he hurries into the ring! SUPERKICK! Then he goes right up, BOUNCY TORNILLO~! Cover, JE’VON WINS!!

Winner: Je’Von Evans, by pinfall

Je’Von gets outta there before DarkState swarms again! A big win for the Young OG, but will he and Leon Slater give us absolute cinema for Gold Rush?

Blake Monroe talks with Ava.

The Glamour tells the GM that she wants her first title defense to be, well, glamorous! So she’s thinking New York City! The skyline, the biggest stars, it’ll be amazing~! Ava says yes, it’ll be… something. And now that she mentions it, Sol was just in here. And if Sol’s cleared in time, then that’ll be Blake’s opponent for NYC. After all, Sol wants a rematch and Ava feels Sol deserves it. Blake scoffs and says bless her heart, Sol can’t be physically capable, that knee surely can’t hold Sol up. Well, yes, Ava has her concerns, but Sol is confident. And if medical does clear her, then Sol gets the match. Plus, Sol never lost that title.

Yes, yes, Blake is aware of that. She just hopes Sol knows what she’s doing. Blake gets a notification and her ringtone is her own theme song… Blake checks her phone, and says her “better half” is asking for an exclusive interview next week. Ciao. Blake heads out, and Ava asks who that “better half” could be. But that aside, will Sol be 100% in time for the Gold Rush? Or will someone else share the spotlight with The Glamour?

The Culling regroups backstage.

The others try to reassure Tatum, but she insists that she’s to blame for the loss tonight. Izzi was just trying to protect Tatum, and the one time Izzi needed Tatum, Tatum let her down! Izzi says she forgives Tatum, so just calm down. But this is what Izzi’s been talking about. Tatum cannot continue to make decisions based on emotions. They can’t ride the highs and lows, that’s how they end up in these situations. Tatum is champion now, she can’t keep making irrational decisions and handing out opportunities on a whim. Tatum worked so hard over the last four years to become the NXT Women’s Champion. If Tatum doesn’t start thinking before she acts, she risks losing the title.

Tatum says Izzi is right. Izzi says she isn’t saying this to be mean. She says all this because she cares. She cares so much, as do Shawn Spears & Niko Vance, and they all want this title to be with The Culling for a very, very long time. Tatum says she wants it in The Culling forever. She thanks them all for accepting her. She promises from now on, she’ll be much more selective. Thank you. So glad they’re on the same page. Tatum says but… There is one thing she has to do next week to feel satisfied. She promises, just one more thing! Tatum hurries away, what in the world could she be talking about?

Ethan Page, Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre are in the ring.

NXT returns ringside to see All Ego & Hot Mess, THE NEW AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, already set up for their Muy Grande Campeon Celebracion. Ethan has the mic to say, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Muy Grande Campeon Celebracion! Or celebration if you only speak English. Folks, I’m here to talk about two of the greatest Canadians to ever live. Now, the fact of the matter is, we don’t have many fans. Not here tonight. In locker rooms around the world hate us because what we do, Chelsea, we say things and they come true.

“Ladies and gents, we said we would become the Triple AH Mixed Tag Team Champions, and we stand here before you the Triple AH Mixed Tag Team Champions!” The fans are torn, but Ethan says let us not forget: He stands before us THE reigning, defending, greatest-to-ever-be North American Champion, proving his point once again that he really is the Greatest North American to lace up boots in a WWE ring! Chelsea totally, totally understands. As a fellow Canadian, and the other half of the new Triple Ah Ah Ah Mixed Tag Team Champions, and the future two-time Women’s United States Champion this Friday… They’re despised!

Jealousy is a disease, and this locker room is riddled with it! Who could blame them, though? Name a more iconic duo in wrestling history that has the potential to take over the entire industry than them? Uh uh uh… Didn’t think so! Ethan says this was not a mistake! They didn’t fall into the titles! They said it, and it came true! What they plan to do with these Triple AH Mixed Tag Team titles is to defend them against anybody and EVERYBODY! Chelsea says don’t let that ruin their night. This is their muy grande celebracion or whatever. They’ve got margaritas, the pinatas, and the desperados in the crowd acknowledging their greatness.

Chelsea just wishes Joe was here. No, don’t say that name! If she says that name, it ruins everything! Right, of course, but she just wanted to say that she wish he was here because Joe- NO! Don’t even say it. HE ruins everything. The fans want them to “SAY HIS NAME! SAY HIS NAME!” Ethan says hold on… They both wonder if this cake is really a cake… Ethan and Chelsea get the pinata sticks and Ethan decides that Chelsea can say his name. Alba is told to say it! “Joe Hendry!” “SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPEARS!” But nothing comes out the cake, Hendry walks in from the ramp! Hendry says, “Say his name and he appears. Sometimes the straightforward approach is best.”

But seems they took his advice the wrong way. They got so caught up in their on EGO~, that they forgot what real talent looks like. Haha, Joe, cut to the chase. What’re you up to? Say what you want! He wants a shot at the North American title at Gold Rush? He hasn’t done anything to deserve it! Hendry says yes, it is true, he wants his title shot. The fans cheer! He wants his shot at the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles! Oh, uh, Hendry, Chelsea isn’t sure how the metric system works at wherever the hell Hendry’s from, but there’s two of them and one of him. Newsflash: You need a partner! Oh, a partner?

Well, maybe someone who can do the spin. Someone who can wave their hands from side to side. Someone who can stand beside Hendry and chant, “We Believe!” Then who!? WHO WHO WHO!? Who? Well, he was gonna keep her a secret until Gold Rush, but if they all wanna know right here tonight…! Then all you have to do is say her name! “SAY HER NAME AND SHE APPEARS… I BELIEVE IN THEA!” THEA HAIL pops out of the cake in her own blue button up shirt! And she PIE FACES Chelsea & Alba! Then Hendry fires hands on Ethan! Thea CROSSBODIES the Green Administration! Hendry SMACKS Ethan with a pinata!

Then Thea hands Hendry a pie! PIE FACE on Ethan! The fans fire up as the Egomaniacs are in retreat, and #HailYeah we believe! Will we all soon wave our hands side to side with NEW AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, Hendry & Hail? Or will Ethan & Chelsea steal everyone’s smiles in New York City?

My Thoughts:

A great NXT as the go-home to, well, the go-home to Gold Rush. They put a lot on next week, such as the Last Man Standing match. That alone is a surprise because I would’ve thought that big match would be saved for the big themed show at The Theater. But perhaps the scheduling and Trick getting the edge on Ricky with that pipe shot to the ribs signals shenanigans for even a Last Man Standing match that somehow creates a draw or No Contest. Maybe they make a final rematch for Gold Rush, but I’m not sure what could be crazier than a Last Man Standing match…

Opening with the Six Woman Tag was a bit surprising, but it was a great match. Izzi taking the loss that way and the promo we got after was good, because while Izzi has Tatum’s (and The Culling’s) best interests in mind, Tatum will just do her own thing. Can’t wait to see what Tatum will announce next week, though I feel like the wheel should be involved again. Good promo from Los Americanos with Briggs, and then great match from Grande Americano VS Briggs. Jasper Troy being there to watch was a good detail, the Speed title match will be really good stuff, and hard to tell who wins that. Grande has started to turn the tide on how fans receive him, it could get good heat on Jasper if he wins.

Speaking of the Speed Tournament, great start with Zaria winning over Wren. Wren was confident the #WrenQCC was going to get going, but it make take a bit more to have that breakthrough. Good promo from Fatal Influence with ZaRuca, and Fallon is confident she’ll meet Zaria in the finals, so she probably beats debuting “Skylar Raye” (Dani Skelesky from LFG Season 2). And while they’re playing up Sol being a month out, I bet she will be cleared for Gold Rush to give us the match we didn’t get at Halloween Havoc. At the same time, I don’t think Blake Monroe loses, she’s not gonna be a transitional champion back to the former champion.

Kelani Jordan’s promo tonight was not only her best promo ever, but arguably the best we got on NXT this year. She finally delivered on this Heel attitude, and her bringing up the double standard was a brilliant move. Now with that, she of course “stepped in it” with claiming she was taking Gold Rush off. While she still won that really good match with Tyra Mae Steele, Santino putting her in a Triple Threat was a great move from management. Kelani VS Jordynne VS Lei Ying is going to be great stuff, and I would think Kelani retains because of the Triple Threat nature, but it’d be a great moment for Lei Ying to win the TNA Knockouts title to bring it back to TNA.

Great main event match from Je’Von VS Saquon, though they were a bit sloppy about how Osiris makes the save yet it isn’t a DQ. Je’Von juking everyone was still great stuff, and surely that tag title match of Je’Von & Leon VS Dion & Osiris will be a show stealer, but could’ve been better on the match finish. And closing with the “celebracion” kinda gave away someone was interrupting. I did like the very blatant nature of the fake cake making Chelsea & Ethan think Hendry was in there, but then great double switch on how Thea was in there instead. I figured we’d get Hendry & Hail VS Ethan & Chelsea, and the Mixed Tag titles being part of it adds a little something, but I feel like Ethan & Chelsea retain so that they aren’t “transitional champions” to yet another WWE based duo.

My Score: 8.8/10
