Team WWE ID walks in.
Cappuccino Jones leads the way for Sean Legacy, Laynie Luck, Eli Knight, Aaron Rourke, Sam Holloway, and Mike Cunningham as he says, “Kam Hendrix and the rest of the Decaffeteria really think we’re scared, bro.” Sam says no way, the prospects have grinded too hard on the indies just to be scared away. Laynie says that’s right! She’s been making towns in the Midwest for ten YEARS just to make it here. That’s a long time! Aaron says the tea! These PC guys don’t understand the grit the ID prospects have from the long car rides, sleepless nights, cramming into hotel rooms and working the smallest venues possible.
But you know what else? All of that has gotten them here, and none of them would change a thing about it! Eli says Aaron is preaching! If anything, right now, ID is ready! Sean says yeah, listen up. Plan A, B, C, whatever PC throws at them, ID will be ready. The only thing worse than Jackson Drake as champion… is KAM as champion! But then a ref hurries over. Team PC has made the card, Sam, Aaron, Mike, and Eli are NOT booked. Sorry, he’s just the messenger. But they gotta go home, they’re not even allowed in the building. And if they don’t, there will be fines and suspensions! Eli is pissed, but the ref has him stay back for his own good.
The ref says sorry, but it’s Team PC’s night. Also, Sean has to get in the ring. Team ID is even more upset than before, but Cappuccino says PC clearly has something brewing. Will Team ID really be up for whatever Team PC can dish out?
Swipe Right hangs out in the Vanity Project dorm room.
Ricky Smokes shows Brad Baylor his phone. Smokes says this chick’s kinda ugly, but also in a kinda hot way. Jackson Drake storms in and tells them to get off their phones! How does this happen!? THEY run Evolve! Ethan Page is paving the way for them to run NXT! And they cannot let Kam Hendrix and his dumbass band of PC crumbs take this from them! Brad says yes, they get it, dude, but remember who you are, Drake. You are the youngest, longest running, first and only Men’s Evolve Champion. Drake already dropped Keanu, and Riggins & Presley don’t want none.
Smokes says they knew that one day, the odds wouldn’t be in their favor, because when you run the brand like VP does, everyone else will do whatever they can to take that from them. Vanity Project always find a way. V’s up! Drake hopes they’re right about this. Will the Carolina Reaper survive his stacked 3v1 Handicap Match? Or will Kam Hendrix simply pick the bones for that Evolve Championship?
Sean Legacy and Tate Wilder wait in the ring.
And while they wait, Kam and Keanu walk out on stage. The fans boo, but Kam then says tonight isn’t just another episode. Tonight is the night they make history! Because tonight, the blue chippers, the future of the WWE, get to run the show for the first time ever. And by first-time-ever, just look at him! Face of a model, D1 athlete, and if water was charisma, y’all would need a life jacket right now. Riggins, Presley and Braxton Cole are in the VIP Lounge just to cheer Kam on. Kam says then there’s Keanu, the human wrecking ball! Jax Presley, Harley Riggins, the alpha tag team! And Braxton Cole: Ivy League brain, heavyweight damage!
Tonight, PC starts by taking over Evolve, then NXT, and ultimately, WWE! So get used to seeing these faces for the next twenty YEARS! Keanu says yeah, Kam is right. Anyone that steps in their way gets broken down. Keanu doesn’t care for these two clowns, so let’s handle them first. Kam says let’s open with the Modern Day Cowboy VS Super Duper Sean! So let’s start with three stipulations. First: The loser has to clean the locker room. And because Kam is such a good, generous guy, the second is that the winner faces Kam for the Evolve Championship after Kam wins it next week. But third is… that HARLEM LEWIS is here?!
The fans fire up as Harlem, or as the “custom” PC graphics call him, “Meathead,” demands he gets in! Keanu says he won’t lie, he doesn’t care for this guy, either. So let him fight! Harlem is added to this high stakes showdown, but who wins, who loses, and who ends up the odd man out?
WWE Evolve Championship #1 Contender’s Triple Threat: Harlem Lewis VS Sean Legacy VS Tate Wilder!
Wait, Riggins tells Blake Howard to let Team PC do the introductions? Presley says, “And out of this corner, a man who will fight for hotdogs and handshakes his entire career, a man you can likely find at your local VFW, he’s Super Sean Legacy~!” Riggins says, “And in the other corner, a self-proclaimed thrill seeker whose biggest risk in life was not joining our faction, HAHAHA!” And then there’s just Harlem. The bell rings, and Harlem fires hands on Tate! Sean goes after Harlem but Harlem knees Sean low! Harlem fires forearms on Sean but Tate goes after him now! Harlem ROCKS Tate, but Sean CLUBS away on Harlem again!
Harlem BODY BLOWS Sean, then rushes him at the ropes! Sean DUMPS Harlem out, ROCKS him, then goes for Tate. Tate trips Sean, covers, ONE! Sean trips Tate, covers, ONE! Tate arm-drags Sean, Sean arm-drags Tate! Tate dodges Sean, Sean dodges Tate, and both men block a kick! The fans cheer as the two agree to let go. But then Harlem DOUBLE LARIATS them both down! Even Team PC thought that was good! Harlem says this is HIS show! Harlem scoops and SLAMS Tate, then he scoops and SLAMS Sean! Harlem SPLASHES Tate, RAMS Sean, and then ELBOWS Tate! Harlem whips Tate at Sean, but Tate goes up and over!
The fans fire up as Tate BOOTS Harlem, and Sean hits a BACKSTABBER! Tate LARIATS Harlem down, covers, Sean breaks it! Sean covers Tate, TWO! The fans rally up and Sean bumps Tate off buckles. Sean stomps away on Tate, but he dodges Harlem! Roll-up, TWO! Tate runs up, Sean dodges, Tate ROCKS Harlem! Tate goes with it to reel Harlem in. Tate asks Sean for the team-up, so they DOUBLE SUPLEX Harlem! The fans fire up but Team PC mocks them. Tate and Sean DOUBLE LARIAT Harlem up and out! But then Tate O’Conner Rolls Sean! TWO and Sean has it, TWO! Things speed up, Tate sidesteps so Sean just DIVES onto Harlem!
The fans fire up, and then Tate says his turn! Tate runs up, ESCALARA PLANCHA! The fans fire up and Tate shouts this is HIS year! Kam says hold on, hold on, third stipulation! No Disqualifications, weapons are allowed! Well, technically Triple Threats always allow those, but guess this is Kam’s way of saying all bets are off! Team PC even start throwing chairs and a TABLE into the ring! Who is willing to go to extremes to get ahead? We see after the break.
Evolve returns and the table is propped up in the corner. Harlem has the kendo stick! Tate ducks a swing! Sean ducks a swing! Tate DROPKICKS Harlem! Sean SUPERKICKS Tate down! The fans fire up and Riggins slides a chair to Sean. Sean is annoyed, but Gnarly Harley says he knows Sean wants to use it! Sean has the chair, but Harlem CLOBBERS him first! Harlem has no hesitations and he JAMS Sean up! Then Harlem JAMS Tate, and DIGS the chair into Tate’s stomach! The fans are torn but Harlem takes a few chairs and puts them together as a pile. Harlem then drags Sean up, reels him in, and aims for the chairs!
Sean fights the suplex to a cradle! TWO! Harlem breaks free, but Sean drop toeholds him onto chairs! Harlem staggers, into the ASAI DDT! Cover, Tate breaks it! The fans fire up while all three men are down! Tate and Sean head for each other, they start throwing shots, and the fans rally harder! Tate ROCKS Sean, Sean ROCKS Tate, repeat! Tate BOOTS Sean, then suplexes for ANARCHY! But Sean flounders out of the ring! Tate is frustrated, but then he sees Harlem, and he sees the kendo stick. Tate grabs the kendo stick, but then Harlem steps on it! Harlem BOOTS Tate away! The fans are torn but Harlem has the stick again!
Harlem SMACKS Tate on the back! And he SMACKS Sean! And he SMACKS Tate again! And he SMACKS Harlem again! Harlem is going yard like the New York Yankees! Harlem DIGS the kendo stick into Sean’s face as part of a CAMEL CLUTCH! But Tate SMACKS Harlem with a chair! Tate SMACKS Harlem again! Tate presses it down onto Harlem’s chest, then SPRINGBOARD SPLASHES on the chair! That chair is bent and perhaps something is broken, but Harlem manages to get out of the ring. Tate rise sup, Sean runs in, but Tate dodges the GAMANGIRI! Tate then aims for the table! But Sean reverses!
Tate and Sean tug-o-war while the fans fire up! Tate kicks, but Sean wrenches! Fireman’s carry, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER on a chair! But Harlem RAMPAGES Sean through the table!!! The fans go nuts, and Harlem hits the BOOM SLANG!! Cover, HARLEM WINS!
Winner: Harlem Lewis, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the WWE Evolve Championship)
Even Team PC is impressed, if only slightly. Riggins gives a lackluster announcement, “And your winner, uh… Harlem Lewis.” They may not take him seriously now, but will this “meathead” be primed and ready to take the title from whoever has it?
Harley Riggins then says, “PJ Vasa, COOOME GET SOOOME~!” Team PC gives PJ a fired up introduction as an unstoppable force, but who’s about to catch an Issue with #PNasty?
PJ Vasa VS Laynie Luck!
Evolve returns from break, and this makes sense. Team PC wants to stick it to Team ID in all divisions, will even the Women’s ID Champion suffer loss? Or can she find a way to survive the Samoan semitruck heading towards her?
The bell rings and the two stare down. The fans rally up as the two tie up, and PJ SHOVES Laynie! Laynie handsprings up and the fans cheer. PJ steps up and scares Laynie, but Laynie dodges to send her into buckles! Laynie fires hands, but PJ ROCKS Laynie! PJ suplexes, Laynie slips free, and Laynie slips under to UP KICK! Laynie runs, but PJ fireman’s carries for a SAMOAN DROP! PJ says how DARE Laynie think she can come here and chase a dream that don’t belong to her! But then Laynie avoids the elbow drop! Laynie storms up to CHOP! And CHOP! And SOBAT! Laynie runs, but PJ catches her to the URENAGE!
Team PC fires up as PJ stomps away on Laynie. PJ whips Laynie corner to corner, runs in and SPLASHES, then drags Laynie back up. PJ whips Laynie to scoop and BACKBREAKER! Laynie writhes but PJ drags her right back up. PJ whips, scoops again, another BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Laynie toughs it out and the fans cheer her on. PJ stands Laynie up and wraps on a BEARHUG! Laynie endures, the fans rally, and Laynie fires elbows! Laynie BELL CLAPS PJ, BELL CLAPS again, and she’s free! Laynie kicks, PJ blocks, and she YANKS Laynie up! Laynie lands out to ROUNDHOUSE! Laynie then wrenches and STUNNERS!
The fans fire up while PJ staggers around! Laynie runs up, trips PJ up, and steps back in for an ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! PJ stays in this but Laynie brings her back up. PJ shoves Laynie away, runs in, but into a BOOT! Laynie goes up, up, and METEO- NO! PJ pops Laynie up for an UPPERCUT! Then the fireman’s carry, and THE ISSUE! Cover, PJ wins!
Winner: PJ Vasa, by pinfall
Team PC grooves with PJ’s music as she scores a big win. Will this lead to PJ’s own golden opportunity in the near future?
Kam then says Cappuccino Jones needs to get his ass out here now, but Keanu says hold on. Keanu says he has a very, very special announcement from Chuey Martinez. Really? We use PC’s own custom graphics to cut to Chuey, and Chuey has a written statement from Team PC. They really want him to read this? Alright, let’s get this over with… “WWE ID, a groundbreaking initiative designed to give independent wrestlers who lack elite athleticism, marketability, and basic decision-making skills a place o feel important.” Sigh… “These pros would drive 12 hours, sleep in their cars, and wrestle in front of 20 nerds, all for the chance to go semi-viral on social media.”
The video playing shows not so much highlights as lowlights of the independent scene, featuring our Team ID prospects and even Swipe Right. Chuey continues to read the nonsense: “And somehow, this has taken television time away from blue chip athletes hand-selected for the Performance Center, the actual future of the WWE. WWE ID was fun for a minute, but now it’s time for this charity to close up shop.” Chuey says there, he’s done. He throws the trash away, but we know Team PC doesn’t have the power to tell WWE upper management how to run the business. Will Team ID find a way to humble Team PC soon enough?
Cappuccino Jones VS ???
Kam gives the introductions for “a man who’s about to get his ass whooped with one arm tied behind his back, a man who no one would have no idea who he was if he wasn’t taking up our valuable TV time, ‘Mocha’ Jones.” Team PC laughs, and then Keanu actually does make the ref tie Jones’ arm behind his back! But make it his right arm! The fans boo as Team PC is stacking the odds, and they introduce the Bad Man from Ala-Bam-Bam-Bama, BROOKS JENSEN! So this is what they were cooking up last week? Jensen shakes hands with all his PC pals, but will the Lost Cause get the easiest win of his life with this?
Kam tells Riggins, Presley & Keanu to go get ready for their match, he and Braxton can handle this. The three go to the back while the bell rings, and Jensen toys with Jones already. Jensen then rushes Jones in the corner to fire off shots! The ref counts, Jensen backs off, then he rushes back in, but Jones slips away. Jones dodges again, but Jensen ELBOWS him to the corner. Jensen UPPERCUTS Jones, but Jones BOOTS back! The fans rally up as Jones climbs, leaps, but into an UPPERCUT! The fans boo but Jensen drags Jones up. Jensen reels Jones into a torture rack for a KICK! Cover, TWO! Jensen tells Jones to stay down while Evolve goes to break.
Evolve returns as Jensen waistlocks and deadlifts Jones for a SLAM! Jensen steps on the tied arm, but then Jones avoids the stomp! The fans rally for Jones as he kicks Jensen’s bad leg again and again! Jones CHOPS away with his left hand! Jensen SHOVES Jones down, but Jones trips him! Jones ground ‘n’ pounds with the left hand! Jensen shoves him away, scoops him, and hits a SHOULDER BUSTER! Jensen then CLUBS the arm! The fans rally for Jones and they boo Jensen, but Jensen pulls on the trapped arm! Jensen CLUBS it and says this is the future here! Jensen CLUBS Jones again but the fans boo. Cover, TWO!
Kam & Braxton watch from the VIP Lounge and are annoyed as Jones toughs it out. Jensen KNEES Jones’ arm, but Jones fires body shots! Jensen has the trapped arm in a double wristlock, since the strap puts it halfway there already! Jensen then turns Jones around to CLUB him down! The fans boo but Kam and Braxton cheer him on. Jensen looms over Jones, shoves him down, then ELBOW DROPS! Jensen soaks up heat, ELBOW DROPS again, then pushes Jones down for a kneeling cover. TWO because that wasn’t a serious pin. Jensen drags Jones around, stands on the trapped arm, then bends the other!
The fans rally for Jones but Jensen KNEES him in the side! Jensen drags Jones up, snapmares, and ELBOW FLOPS as Jones moves! Jones ghost pins, TWO! Jensen gets a leg, but Jones kicks at Jensen’s legs! Jensen flounders away, Kam is upset, but Jensen KICKS Jones’ leg out! Jensen runs, but Jones ducks the crossbody! Jensen hits ropes and sputters around! The fans fire up as Jensen staggers up, and Jones O’Conner Rolls with a bridge! TWO and Jensen has a CROSSFACE CHICKEN WING! The fans rally as Jones endures, pops free, and rolls back to a cover, TWO! Jensen holds on with his modified clutch!
Jones fires hands, fights free, but Jensen kicks low! Jensen back suplexes but Jones DDT COUNTERS! The fans fire up while Kam is frustrated on Jensen’s behalf! Jones rises, and he JABS! JABS! JABS! Then he ducks to JAB, JAB, JAB! Jensen BOOTS the trapped arm, then suplexes, but into a STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! The fans fire up and Jones hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Kam and Braxton jump up then fall back on the couch, they’re that shocked! Jones brings Jensen up, Jensen wrenches, but Jones dodges! DROPKICK! Jensen staggers, Jones runs in, but Jensen pops him up! Jones lands a bit rough on the corner, and Jensen scoops him!
Jensen suplexes for an END OF HEARTACHE! Cover, Jensen wins!
Winner: Brooks Jensen, by pinfall
It took taking Jones’ dominant hand away for Jensen to win, but all he cares about is winning. How will Jensen get ahead when he has to stack the odds to do it?
3v1 Handicap Match: Jackson Drake VS Harley Riggins, Jax Presley & Keanu Carver!
And speaking of the stacked deck, it is usually the WWE Evolve Champion who has the numbers in his favor. But this time, he’ll be on the other end of that as Team PC pits him against Gnarly Harley, the Space Cowboy, AND the One Man Demolition Crew! Will the Carolina Reaper find a way to survive? Or will he be ripe for the picking after PC gets through with him?
Kam gives the introductions, “It is time for your maaaaaaaaain~ eeeeveeeeent! It’s time for Jackson Drake to get the beating he deserves! But make sure you guys keep him okay enough for me to get my championship match next week, please.” The fans then actually cheer for Vanity Project to make their entrance. Lesser of two evils, huh? But then Kam has the music stop and the graphics change because VP doesn’t deserve it! Drake can’t even with Kam’s malfunction, what is their problem? The fans cheer Drake on as he steps into the ring, but will he be able to walk out of here under his own power?
Team PC sorts out and Jax starts this off. The bell rings, the fans cheer Drake, and he ties up with Jax. Jax SHOVES Drake, the fans boo, but Drake shakes it off. Drake and Jax circle but Riggins creeps up on the ropes. Drake gets around Jax, CLUBS him, but Jax KNEES back! Jax TOSSES Drake to the corner, then stomps him down. Tag to Keanu, they mug Drake, and Keanu fires body shots. Then Keanu THROWS Drake the other way! And runs in for an ELBOW! Drake sputters, Swipe Right coaches him, but Keanu just THROWS Drake to another corner! Keanu runs up, Drake dodges, and Drake fires off kicks and a SOBAT!
Drake runs, but Keanu LARIATS Drake inside-out! Keanu drags Drake up to TOSS him to the PC corner, tag back to Jax. They mug Drake again, and Jax stomps away. Tag to Riggins and he stomps away! Tag to Keanu, they stomp away, but the ref counts. Keanu stomps at 4, Kam talks trash right from the apron, and Keanu tags Jax. Jax drags Drake up, talks trash, then DECKS him! Tag to Riggins and the blue chippers double whip to DOUBLE SHOULDER TACKLE! Riggins covers, TWO! Riggins clamps on with shoulder claws, then moves into the motorcycle stretch! Drake endures Harley using him as a Harley but the fans rally up.
Drake rises up, fights around, and rolls to victory roll! TWO, and Drake LARIATS! And LARIATS! Drake blocks a kick to SWEEP the leg! Then he dodges Jax to BOOT Keanu! And he BOOTS Jax! Drake goes up, MISSILE DROPKICK on Jax! Riggins is up, but into a SNAP POWERSLAM! Cover, Keanu breaks it! Jax & Keanu stomp away but the fans boo and the ref reprimands! Swipe Right gets on the apron, but Kam & Braxton YANK them down, SMACK them around, and throw them into each other! The fans boo but Jax tags back in. Then he tags Keanu, and we get NECESSARY ROUGHNESS!
Then Riggins sets Drake up for Keanu to POUNCE! The fans boo but Kam says hold on, wait, Drake needs to be medically cleared for next week. Let’s make this 4v1! Kam is now in this match!
4v1 Handicap: Team PC VS Jackson Drake!
Kam tags in so he can take the cover, and Team PC wins!
Winners: Team PC, by pinfall
Kam smiles as he gets credit for the win and ends this early. Will Kam have an even easier time next week when it’s just him and Drake? Or can Heartbreak Drake ruin everything for the “future” of the WWE?
My Thoughts:
A very good episode of Evolve, because it built up so much Heel heat on Team PC from start to finish. For one, the change in the graphics was hilarious, they perfectly did things bad on purpose. Then y did very classic abuses of power, including last minute changes to things, all to stick it to Team ID. For that matter, Chuey having to read their smear piece on Team ID was good stuff. Laynie Luck getting in on this mostly so PJ Vasa can also have her time was good, and I was surprised they did a one-armed man thing so Jensen could win over Jones. The Triple Threat to open was the actual best match of the night, and a great win for Harlem Lewis to set himself up as the Face that saves us from Team PC.
Because trust me, they are certainly taking that Evolve title off Drake. Drake is in the NXT Championship ladder match next week. I don’t know if Drake wins that match, but he’ll be in the NXT Championship scene. At best, he’ll be double champion for 24 hours before Kam takes the Evolve title. The Handicap Match only getting like eight minutes was a bit of a disappointment but Kam changing things so he could get the pin was classic Heel stuff. Kam really has proven in just the span of a month that he has the mic skills to be Top Heel, he and Harlem make perfect foils for this next phase of Evolve.
My Score: 8.7
